I really don't know anything about the video.  I googled "Internet keyboard warrior", just to make fun of SecondAgain, and that video was listed.  That picture was on the front of it, and I instantly cracked up.  I figured you'd get a kick out of it.

agree with you vanzack, I was ready to kill someone, had a big bet on both the ML and spread.   That coach was absolutely a moron. 

I was yelling at him for all the things you mentioned, not running play clock down to 1-3 seconds, wasting a timeout to "ICE" kicker (very stupid IMO to waste these type of timeouts, many coaches do), not even trying to complete a pass on their own 30 with 20 seconds, when all they need is a FG and then not even attempting to move the ball in OT.  They are lucky their kicker hit that 40 yarder, thats no chip shot in college.

Zack, you DO seem to rip on fools, but I guess when you are sucessful at making  as you are and remeber things such as the bad clock management by coaches it can only give you an advantage in handicapping.  Was wondering if you would be so kind as to check out my first thread I have posted for my weekend picks and maybe rip them a new hole, and I mean that, your insight is helpful and would love to hear your strong leans on my card, if you can even find one

But, I would only add that it is not always as simple as running the play clock down on each snap with a lead.  Tempo is really key for an offense (and is probably an element of offensive strategy that is most often ignored; almost all productive offenses run at a very quick tempo; one of the reasons that scoring in college FB is up is that the new 40 second clock rules essentially have forced teams to run at a faster tempo). 
 
Running a plays without a long break typically favors the offense as it keeps the defense from changing personnel and having time to make their defensive calls; it's also more tiring to play defense, and the effort on the defense genreally goes down as tempo increases. 
 
In addition, CMU runs an uptempo offense, and it's very hard for teams that run an uptempo style to slow it down and still make first downs.  So, the question for the CMU staff waswhat has the higher probability: staying up tempo and getting an extra first down or two or running the clock down and going 3 and out?
 
Realize the best scenario is run the clock down and also make a first down, but that is hard to do.

Totally understand your viewpoint, but totally disagree with the premise.

I dont think that taking an additional 15 secs off the playclock endangers you moving the ball when the plays you are calling are no longer uptempo type plays.  They were running up the middle.

Anyway - I do understand your point - just disagree that it applied last night.
