Syracuse isn't exactly rolling into the year with positive momentum, but for the first time in a half decade, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

SO.......GAR is sharp dude.......i had to check......reasons for slide and possible fix are........ * minn remember off 1-11 in '07......despite losing RB Bennett in 2nd game started 7-1.......(had no other backs as Whaley also out) *** QB Weber had knee surgery after indiana game .....played anyway *Weber to Decker entire offense.......when Decker went out in 2nd quarter of NW game......team was done .....had overachieved all year > now finished....
ADDED this year.......(do lose best D player.......everybody else back) *QB Gray.......sat out '08......will play in spots .....maybe as WR also...great spring * rb 's bennett and whaley + LY's leading rusher eskridge also returns * 5/5 OL back + 6-7 / 375 juco Wills * WR Hayo Carpenter (juco transfer ....4.37 speed) * moved DB / return man Stoudermire to WR and was one of highlights of spring also

bigdaddy - agree on getting early numbers if spot number that you like, such as sun pm during season or early august, not looking heavy at any of those GOY games myself so those couple weeks extra don't bother me, can't argue with the value getting on Illinois -2.5 (some on another forum we're saying it was 4.5 by time most got to window), just not a huge fan of Illinois from ATS standpoint (26-40 since 2003 and not much consistency or read on them) although can see the value in this case

Rice (-3) @ UAB I have UAB laying a point here. Too many losses for the Owls to be an early season road favorite in my opinion.
Marc Lawrence was just on Hardcore Sports (Sirius Channel 98) touting UAB as a bowl-bound team this year.
I don't know about that, but I like them as a home dog to open the season. I've seen some predict the line could be Rice -6 or -8. Hopefully, it's that high, but I think the books will make it -3 to a pk. UAB, with the exception of a shellacking by SoMiss, did finish well in their conference games last year.

LSU -14 on the road...this has happened before when they were -17 vs mss st. a few years back,and it was a beatdown, dont trip, they could play this game in front 300,000 with the president standing on UW's sideline, and UW would still get whooped.

I like LSU and also Notre Dame. The reason I like Notre Dame is because of Nevada's porous defense. Especially, Nevada's pass D, absolutely horrible. Here's the link for the stats from last year:

If I'm mistaken... Nevada was one of the top teams against the run last year... they werent good against the pass but ND isnt that great. Nevada is good enough to hang with ND. I think 17 is alot of pts... Nevada could easily backdoor cover

Yes they were, but they played alot of teams who don't run much. They shut down the terrible teams on their sched. (UNLV,Idaho,NMSU,Utah St,Hawaii,and SJSU). They did shutdown Boise as well(Boise was held to 38,and 28 VS TCU and Oregon). The decent ground teams had no problem running on Nevada's defense.

They all remember Washington's questionable loss to BYU last year as a 8 1/2 point dog, and the fact that LSU only covered 3 games last season. What they fail to remember is that the 28-27 loss to BYU was Washingtons ONLY cover that year. They went 1-11 ATS, the worst record in the FBS, and the wrost record in school history.
