Some people are just a bit too simple-minded to think beyond black-and-white concepts like "a win is a win and a loss is a loss"... they can't understand that there is a lot of gray area in between that game ending 35-31 and 42-31... as if they knew all along a meaningless TD would be scored on the last possible play it could have been scored...
And the main reason they want to think in those simplistic terms is because that is the only way you can get satisfaction on a forum like this, when you don't actually put money on the game!
When you wager money on the game, you don't feel a need to rub salt in the wound of a guy who lost a game he shouldn't have lost, because you understand what it's like to be that guy...
It's a very beautiful world when there is no actual money involved... you lose nothing when you're wrong, and you can pound your chest like a monkey when you win!
Congrats to those of you who seek joy in other people's misery... it must be a rich and fulfilling existence!
And the Cat comes in to call the kettle Black
Thanks for the input it always has this effect on me

"What about that FUMBLE that should have been overturned because he was still off the ground when he lost possession?? That was a total joke, and all the Louisville fans KNEW it."
That wasn't a fumble! The head of officials was in the booth clearly explaining why it wasn't a fumble... you are grasping pathetically at straws!
And the announcers said it was a definite fumble. The Official said they didn't have enough to overturn it. But all of the Lou fans at the game and online KNEW it was a fumble. Regardless, it doesn't matter. FSU with Winston and in a tight game late is money. Bad beats, good beats, Dr. effin Dre beats, whatever, it was a BAD BET. Get over it and move on to better selections this weekend.

Shark, I had a dime on Louisville +0.5 1st Q, and a nickel on FSU -6.5 2nd H.
Ok... so you essentially took FSU (in game) at +7.5 for the final spread, which was a good bet! But at the same time, you didn't feel confident enough to take them (-4.5) or (-6) for the full game... yet here you are piling on someone who essentially had them (in comparison to your wager) at (+20) for the 2nd Half. How exactly is that justified, as you proclaim that you "told us all what would happen"?
Keep it in perspective, man... IF you are actually betting money, that means at some point you have been on the other side of a loss like this, and in the case of tonight, you weren't even on the winning side of the wager that Boom lost... you were 2 TDs on the safe side of things...
I personally had Louisville as the first leg of a 2-team Teaser (my only teaser this year), at (+10.5), but I got half of that money back betting FSU in game at a pick'em (EV) (my first Live bet of the year)... so I am pissed that I didn't hit both ends...
But my point is, it's uncalled-for to be tormenting and harrassing someone who lost a game that wouldn't have lost about 95% of the time, given the circumstances... and acting like you knew it would turn out that way all along... when you didn't even bet the game to begin with!
Act like you've been there before, is the moral of the story...

Official explained very clearly that anything above the ankle is the same as the knee... just like anything above the wrist is the same as the elbow... the announcers had to ask him that question because they didn't know, and once he explained it to them, they all agreed he was down... which he was!
This game was an abomination, but it happens... it's part of the business... tough to swallow, but you have to anyway...
Bad beat or not... people who love to kick people when they're down on this site do not have my respect, and never will!

With my own definition of "bad beat," this does not meet it.
Having over 52 with 44 points scored in first half, and only 7 scored in second half with two goal-line fumbles and an int in the red zone is a bad beat.
Pick-six going the other way as time expires to cover is a bad beat.
Getting spanked 35-10 does not constitute a bad beat in my book.
In full disclosure, I did not bet the spread as I only had Louisville team total, at 23.5. Had they not scored at all in second half, that would have been a semi-bad beat.

Bad beats happen every game, if you don't believe me, just open up this Covers forum after every game, and there will be people crying "moose" simply because they want to make themselves feel better about losing their money... rigged this, bad call that, fixed game, refs getting paid....and the list goes on and on.... Losing isn't fun, and like I said earlier...I'm not taking shots at anyone for losing money, but would expect someone who starts a separate thread "urging people to put their money on Louisville" to at least stand up and take it like a man when it loses, which makes that person much more respected....like saying the Michigan State cover against Michigan was a hose job..... that's total BS
Good seeing you back Ice

Here's what I know.. Bama, ole miss, miss st, auburn, Oregon, Baylor, TCU, and a few others would Beat The Fuuk outta FSU.... I also believe Miami will beat FSU, but if not.. Winston and the Noles will get curb stomped in the semifinals... And it will be sad cause we won't get the real "4 best" in it.....

Ok so finally you post as a real gambler instead of some know-it-all dbag. Yea, I've been on the losing end of everything imaginable. I do gamble, and I probably wager more than your average legitimate poster here. I win some and lose some, and usually win more than I lose. I learned a long time ago to just take losses in stride and either move on and keep truckin, or pack up for the weekend and live for another, hopefully better weekend. Last weekend cost me money, I won two (LSU and UNC) and lost three (USF, Texas, and UAB). I was not happy, because I didn't wager the correct amounts, and chose to take the advice of others (who convinced me) that these three pathetic programs would cover. I lost, and that is that. "Bad beats" happened, like the criminal spot against Texas which could have helped cover the game. It didn't and I decided I had enough for the week.
Fast forward to this week's games. I'm not going to rehash FSU Louisville, because it is over and I don't want you to think Im being pompous. But this team reminds me of the Auburn team with Cam Newton in 2011. Until the whistle sounded, that Auburn team with Cam, no matter how much thru got behind, if they had time left and the ball, they would win PERIOD. The largest wager of my entire life was Auburn in that Nattie against Oregon. I knew that it would be close, and in a close game, give me Auburn with Cam. They had crazy stuff happen, Dyer made that wild run with his knee almost down, and Auburn did what they always did...... Win the game with everything on the line.
This was a longgggg post, but I wanted to reciprocate the olive branch for a truce in this pizzing contest between us. I hope you win, I hope I win, and I would like to get your UNBIASED honest opinion on picks. I will tell you this..... I have made a WHOLE lot of money on situations like last night. Again, in a close battle with a tight line, take the guy who ONLY knows winning (and luck and whatever) to ALWAYS win against teams who are used to losing.

Obviously it's a bad beat... people who live for the "after game" are the cancers of this website! They don't bet money on the games, so the only "satisfaction" they can get is by patting themselves on the back after the game...
The amount of things that had to happen for FSU to get that cover were mind-boggling...
Not only the fumble into the endzone before the half, but the fact they had so much time on the clock because the refs didn't review the Louisville TD where the WR was down on the 1 yard line... should have run off more (or all) of the clock...
Fumble after the INT to start the 2nd half... false start on the crucial drive on 2nd and 8 that could have iced the game... and oh yea, a 40 yd TD pass to get the "backdoor" cover when the game was in the bag...
You gotta be a monumental toolbag to suggest this wasn't a badbeat for Louisville bettors... and some of you are just that!
I don't necessarily disagree with you...but all those things are part of the game right? if that's the case, EVERY loss can be considered a bad beat?
Also, I'd say the 40 TD pass to get to cover could typically be considered a bad beat in a low scoring slugfest but not in this game. It wasn't like it was a low scoring affair with FSU dinking and dunking their way 16 plays, 90 yards for TDs. long scoring plays were the norm, not the exception in the second half for FSU. Because it happened one last time on the last drive to put the game away? It wasn't a garbage TD either, FSU wanted and needed the 2 score breathing room.

It's not a bad beat, it's a bet that lost. There are 100 things that happen throughout a game that can effect the outcome. The fact is FSU rolled them on the second half 35-10!!! That's not a bad beat, it's getting crushed! Sometimes the ball bounces a different way. Nobody should be bashing this guy for losing a bet, he has won plenty, BUT let's not get carried away saying it was such a bad beat like a Hail Mary to win the game. FSU beat a team that was not as good as them, period.
