Most overrated team in the country?

I was thinking the same thing Payne......Bama is playing with a Iot of young guys....They have won everything on their schedule so far.....They arent a team that is gonna beat everybody by 30+ but that is what everyone wants......They might be a little over their head when they have to face the Gators in the SEC Championship but they are still a good team....

Most Overrated team is the Georgia Bulldawgs.....How are you the number one team in the country and get blown out at night in your own stadium (Bama game)

Wahoo is absolutely correct in his assessment. USC can play with anybody in the country. Besides losing to Texas in the Rose Bowl (Championship game in 2006) when has USC lost a non conference game. They absolutely destroy non-conference teams year after year. They have won ever BCS game they have played in except for the above mentioned game. USC's problem in the last few years is losing to conference teams. They have missed out on the championship games the last few years because of this. USC, unless they get some help, tey lost their chance to play in the championship when they got beat by Oregon State, but I like their chances against anybody in the country. Nobody blows out SC. In my opinion the most overrated team in the country is Georgia. They got spanked by Florida and got beat pretty handily by Bama 41-30, which was misleading because Bama was up 31-3. Georgia scored some late points to make it respectable.

I'm sorry but why should USC be considered overrated because they haven't played anyone?  They are the only team in the nation that scheduled all of their games against BCS eligible teams.  It's really not their fault that those teams are having down years.  They have the #1 defense in the nation and I read in an article recently that they would be favored against any team in the nation at this point (including Florida). 

If anything, a team like LSU should be considered overrated after some of the stinkers they've put up this year.  Barely beat Troy this last weekend, barely beat Auburn, and lost to Alabama, Florida, and Georgia and are still in the top 20? 

I understand that you called them the "biggest letdown" but their loss right now to a 7-3 Oregon State team doesn't look nearly as bad as it was early on in the season.  But don't penalize a team and call them overrated or a letdown because they haven't played a good schedule of teams when they did everything in their power to help their BCS standings. 

I guess thats why the SEC leads in attendance every year.  Because everyone takes a ticket to any game they can get their hands on.  What a dumbass comment.  I hate Alabama worse than any other team in the nation, but that doesn't make them overrated.  The SEC consistently dominates EVERY sport, not just football, so people hate.  Past accomplishments??  I guess since there has not been a national championship since the last one, we have to talk about the SEC as defending national champions.  Plus, we have 2 teams in the top 5, and 3 in the top 10.  How the hell is that overrated?

Livetogamble- You have a UCLA avitar and you are calling the SEC overrated?  The Pac 10 is worse than the Mountain West, look at your W-L record against them.  USC would never win 6 straight SEC championships, PERIOD!!  Then to say that "everyone" said that Ohio St should not have been in both national championship games is crazy.  If you remember correctly, the media said that Florida shouldn't be there and Ohio State was favored.

Come on guys, I know it sucks to lose to the SEC every year, but you gotta do better than that!

You sir, are what they call, a homer.  The guy mentioned that the SEC is overrated this year and talks about just the general mystique of how SEC fans seem to really defend their conference as being the best and you bring up game attendance?!?!?  What the hell does that have to do with anything?  And I'd love to see your statistical backing on this. 

SEC dominates in every sport huh?  Well, I do know that the Lady Vols have won like three straight women's basketball championships so you're totally right on your accessment of the domination of every sport. 

And we'll never know if USC would win 6 straight SEC championships.  I doubt they would also but I do know that the last time Auburn and Arkansas played USC a couple times, they got dominated like Florida playing the Citadel this week.

The SEC is a very good football conference but this year, they are not the best.  You have two very good teams right now in Alabama and Florida but outside of that, not many other teams jump out as being dominant like in the past.  I would take Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Oklahoma St. over Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

The SEC is a premiere conference, don't get me wrong.  I was just replying to the fact that his claims were quite off base.  And as for being dominant in the main three, I think you're half right.  Recently, I would say that the SEC has done very well in championship games from baseball, football, and basketball.  But overall, teams from those conferences haven't been the most dominant.

Take baseball for example.  LSU had a helluva program in the 90's and still does.  I think they won like 5 championships in a 9 or 10 year period.  But the Pac-10 has more overall championship in baseball.  Same thing with basketball with Florida recently and Kentucky back in the day.  But once again, the Pac-10 holds the the record for most NCAA championship. (Yes UCLA has a bunch but four other teams have also won it in Stanford, Arizona, Oregon and Cal)

I personally think that the SEC is down this year but because of their dominance in the recent future, it's causing some serious problems in the rankings, mainly because of preseason polls. 

I can't wait to see how the final few weeks turn out because there's still a lot of chances for teams to move up and down in the top 10 in the BCS.  Let's not forget Pitt beating WV last year in the last week of the season.  We could see some serious shakeup before it's all said and done. 

They didn't just lose to Oregon State, they were just as embarassed as the buckeyes the week before at USC.

Nobody expected much from LSU, Florida or Alabamal; Everyone pretty much said that they'd all cancel each other out.

Point is, USC has been refered to as the team that is playing above all others right now, however they have had trouble scoring as of the last few weeks, and against Pac 10 defenses...  Well it doesn't say much about USC's firepower on offense
