Been thinking about the Iowa play myself. I really think they will come out much stronger in this season opener as opposed to recent years. Last year's game at Soldier Field is an example of how they don't want to play. Ferentz can't afford to lose in week 1 to a MAC team on his home turf, and they've built on lack of experience from last season.
Good luck

Another Total not listed previously that I'll likely play is the Over in the Texas A&M vs. Rice game. Although the game is currently Off, I noticed vegasinsiders VI Consensus lists the total as 71.5. I'm already on Rice +28.5 for a 0.5 unit play. That was mainly due to the three suspensions on defense in game 1 for Texas A&M. Like many of you in Jimmy's thread, I'm almost certain that Manziel will play in this game. And with this offseason he, Sumlin and the team have had, I have to believe they are anxious to get back to just playing football and may take some of their frustration out on this Rice defense. And with Rice starting DL Hosam Shahin now Out, that leads me further toward the Over being the play. Congrats to all the online bettors that grabbed this immediately at around 67. My question to all those out there that like the Over, how high of a number would it take to make this a no-play? 71.5 is a little steep, but I think it keeps going up until kickoff.

Rice looks good to me. AND if I am Tx A&M and I get a 21 pt lead, I would be playing my 2nd string QB so he gets all the playing time he can just in case Johnny FB gets booted.

...need to update my week 1 thread with some plays added in the last few days. Will write a consolidated list of plays soon.
Added Louisiana Lafayette +11 (0.5 units) on Wednesday at my local casino.
Broke down and faced the reality that my job is moving me from Las Vegas to Texas sometime in September, so I now have a 5dimes account.
After some research I added my initial lean Liberty +30.5 but decided on 0.5 units rather than 1 unit I had originally planned. This play is -120; risking 0.6 units to win 0.5 units.
Also added a regular season win total: Western Michigan under 5.5. -120 play; risking 1.08 units to win 0.9 units.

Did towson hang? or was it 27-7 at half, and 41-7 in the 4th quarter before towson scored the last two TD's , one with 20 seconds to go
i wouldnt consider 27-7 at half and 41-7 with 9 minutes to go as towson "hung" with kent state.
am i missing something here?
how did towson "Hang" again?
jdn,
....certainly can't speak for Cover34 on that comment. I agree with you; game was out of hand early 4th qtr. Maybe he's overlooking the 6 to 0 turnover margin that contributed to Kent's total offense of 269 yards.... No idea. Cover34, you out there and want to take this one?
My reasons for taking Liberty in next Thursday's opener are not related to last year's Kent/ Towson game.

ill be shocked if they score more than 14, but could keep this close.
i was hoping for 21 or less to play kent. maybe this will end in the 38-10 range.
Liberty RB Allen is suspended for the Kent game. I have Liberty scoring 7-10 points and agree with the max. 14 points comment. I think Kent scores only in the 28-31 point range. If they post a shutout, which is possible here, then I'll be in trouble. It's the matchup between the Liberty defense and Kent offense that I'm counting on. I think Liberty's D keeps it close for awhile.
