Unsurprisingly, bettors are riding the top-ranked Tigers into their playoff matchup with Oklahoma, and books have consistently moved the line to keep up with LSU money.
The Tigers opened as 12-point favorites but are up to -14, which has seemingly split the money days ahead of kickoff. Rood said his book was taking roughly 70% of the money on LSU at -13.5 before adjusting to -14 late this week.
"We're probably gonna need Oklahoma for a pretty good amount here," he said.
Bettors are split at -14, though the last time theScore Bet offered -14 in mid-December, the Sooners were garnering 60% of the handle. Parlay bettors are also betting LSU twice as often but laying twice the money per bet on Oklahoma.
The difference between -13.5 and -14 could be a big one - LSU is 3-1 against the spread this year giving fewer than 14 points but just 5-4 ATS when giving 14 or more.
