Bardo I never have an issue buying points and I never want to lose by the hook....most folks lay -150 to -170 on a baseball game without even blinking - why wouldn't I lay that much to improve my odds on a football game? Everyone has their own methods and systems - that's mine....good luck however you play! Obviously a +3 wouldn't be nearly as strong of a play as +4 so use your judgement accordingly....

Zips and Aggies Bowl Pick

The Akron Zips are going to have the disadvantage of playing a long way from home in this one. Akron’s run defense could be the deciding factor in this game. The Zips simply do not allow yards on the ground, and that leaves the Aggies in a questionable spot. This is going to be a great game, and it’s unclear who is going to win the game. Check back closer to game time for our exact pick, but the early lean in this game is Utah State. Would like to see the line go down closer to -3 or -4 so we will wait for now.  With so many bowl games this year we are making a selection for each and every game which in realistic terms is not the best money management way to go but saying that this is all for fun and entertainment purposes anyway, so we are sticking with Utah State buying down as much as you are willing and looking for a low scoring game as well.  Lots better choices coming up this bowl season.

The Huskies finished 5th in the Pac-12 North, and had to win their final two games of the season to get into a bowl game. The Huskies downed Oregon State on the road, and came home to beat Washington State. For Southern Mississippi, they had their six game winning streak snapped in the Conference USA title game on the road at Western Kentucky. The Golden Eagles are scoring nearly 60 points per game in their last three wins.

Southern Miss Loves Passing the Football

The Golden Eagles of Southern Mississippi love to pass the football. They hope to pass the daylights out of a decent Washington defense. Southern Miss averaged more than 327 passing yards on the season. The offense scored more than 40 points per game. In the early going, the Golden Eagles took losses to Mississippi State, Nebraska and Marshall. Since those losses, the Golden Eagles scored 32 or more in every game. The quarterback for the Golden Eagles has been Nick Mullens, with more than 4,100 passing yards and 36 touchdowns. Jalen Richards is the running back that gets the load of the carries, with 185 carries, 1,098 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Washington’s Offense Heating Up

While the Huskies just scored 29.5 points per game, in their final two games, they averaged 48.5 per game. Washington’s quarterback Jake Browning needs 329 yards to get to 3,000 on the season. Browning tossed 16 touchdowns, with Jason Mickens having just 2 to lead the way. The running game for the Huskies averaged 152.8 yards per game. Washington’s Myles Gaskin wrapped up a season with more than 1,120 yards, along with 10 touchdowns on more than 200 carries. Washington started the season 3-4, with losses to Boise State, California, Oregon and Stanford. Losses to Utah and Arizona wrapped up their conference losses. The best win for Washington came in the season finale against Washington State.

Golden Eagles Easy Bet

You would be surprised if I said this team out of the Conference USA may be better than a Pac-12 team. Don’t get me wrong; the Pac-12 is a better overall conference, but the gap has closed in the last couple years. These teams are quite a bit different, as Washington will want to defend to win this game, and we know Southern Mississippi is going to want to put points on the board early and often. The moneyline on the Golden Eagles could be one of the most profitable plays you could take during the entire bowl season. Look at the moneyline, but in the end, the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles +10 is the easy choice to make in this game.

The Indiana Hoosiers, out of the Big Ten, will take on the Duke Blue Devils. Indiana comes into the game with a 6-6 record. The Hoosiers had to win their final two games to become bowl eligible. Indiana downed Maryland and Purdue, both on the road. For the Duke Blue Devils, they are 7-5 coming into the bowl game. Duke lost four in a row, but then bounced back in the season finale at Wake Forest to down the Demon Deacons 27-21. Duke’s slide started against Miami in the final play.

Blue Devils using Sirk to Surge

Thomas Sirk, the Duke Blue Devils quarterback has made up the offense most of the season. Sirk has thrown for 2,462 yards and rushed for nearly 650 more. His 15 passing touchdowns and 6 rushing touchdowns lead the way. When he is passing, his top target has been Max McCaffrey, the big brother of Heisman runner up Christian McCaffrey. Duke is scoring 30.8 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 24.1. When the season started, the Blue Devils won their first two games, before falling to Northwestern. After wins over Georgia Tech, Boston College, Army and Virginia Tech, that’s when the slump started. In those four losses, the Blue Devils allowed opponents to score 42 points per game.

Hoosiers Want a Shoot-out

The Indiana Hoosiers will want this game to be a high scoring shoot-out. The Hoosiers are scoring 36.2 points per game, and allowing 37.1. The Hoosiers won their last two games scoring 101 points combined. In the Hoosiers six game losing streak, the Hoosiers allowed 45 points per game. Indiana’s offense is anchored by quarterback Nate Sudfeld with more than 3,100 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. Jordan Howard is the lead running back for Indiana, and he has rushed for 1,213 yards and 9 touchdowns, while Sammie Cobbs Jr leads the receiving core with 54 receptions, 914 yards and 4 touchdowns. Indiana won just 2 of 8 games in the Big Ten schedule after starting 4-0.

Duke Runs away with Pinstripe Bowl

The Duke Blue Devils are small underdogs in this game. It’s unclear to me why the Hoosiers are favored, but it doesn’t seem accurate. Indiana can pass the football, but so can Duke. The Blue Devils will likely be able to run the ball better than the Hoosiers, and Duke, if they take care of the ball should be able to score. Duke will win this game by more than a touchdown. This is another game where it makes sense to look at the moneyline. As the game approaches, keep your eye on this one. For now, Duke +3 is the easy bet we are going to make.

The Miami Hurricanes come into the game out of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Miami finished third in the Coastal Division of the conference. The Hurricanes are coming into the game with a two game winning streak. Miami downed Georgia Tech, and then went on the road and beat Pittsburgh. For Washington State, they finished third in the Pac-12 North. The Cougars were blown out on the road at their biggest rival Washington 45-10 in their season finale. That snapped a three game winning streak for the Cougars.

Washington State Airs it Out

The Washington State Cougars have the best passing offense in all of college football. The Cougars passed for nearly 400 yards per game on the season. The quarterback Luke Falk is 34 yards away from 4,300 on the season. Falk tossed for 36 touchdowns, with Gabe Marks leading the way with 14 touchdown receptions. Washington State did not do much on the ground this season, averaging nearly 75 yards per game. The Cougars had wins over Arizona State, UCLA and Colorado, before falling to Washington in their finale. The Cougars wrapped up the season scoring 32.4 points per game.

Hurricanes Ready to Start the Richt Era

Mark Richt is the new head coach of the Miami Hurricanes. Richt had a good run at Georgia, but was fired after the disappointing 2015 season. The Hurricanes will use an interim coach for this game, as Richt will not coach the game. Richt’s first goal for the Hurricanes program is to get their recruiting level back to the old days when they had some of the best players in the nation. Miami wrapped up the regular season with back-to-back wins over Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. The Hurricanes low point, and the game that got Al Golden fired was the 58-0 loss to Clemson. That was the third loss in four games for the Hurricanes.

Tight Game in Sun Bowl

The Miami Hurricanes will certainly have a nice following in this, as some momentum will start building, as a new coach has been hired down there. Washington State is a little disappointed, but in the end, both of these teams will play with a ton of momentum and energy. The team that turns it over less, will likely win this bowl affair. This game in the end is just too close to call. These teams do not have a bunch of separation between the two. Check back closer to game time to see if anything has changed. After watching a few games and seeing how the numbers are playing out we like the Over as a big play for this game and going to roll with a small lean with Washington State on the moneyline.

The game will feature the Golden Hurricanes of Tulsa against the Hokies of Virginia Tech. Tulsa comes into the game with a 6-6 record, and were fourth in the American Athletic Conference West Division. The Golden Hurricanes won at Tulane to wrap up their regular season, and snap their two game losing streak. For Virginia Tech, they are also 6-6, and finished 5th in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Hokies also won their season finale, and won three of their final four games to become bowl eligible. The Hokies downed Virginia, Georgia Tech and Boston College.

Beamer’s Final Game

Frank Beamer will coach in this game for the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hokies love their head coach, but are super excited about Justin Fuente coming in to lead the program next season. Fuente has been known to have the magic touch when it comes to working with quarterbacks, something they have needed for years. The Hokies passed for just 216 yards per game this season, with Brewer tossing 12 touchdowns. Isaiah Ford will need 63 receiving yards to reach 1,000 on the season, to go with his 10 touchdowns. The Hokies are best known for their pass defense, as they finished in the Top 10. Virginia Tech does not have any signature wins this season; and lost nearly every tough challenge they had on their schedule.

Evans to Surpass 4,000 Passing Yards

Dane Evans, the Tulsa quarterback is going to finish the season with more than 4,000 yards on the season. Evans needs just 42 to surpass that, and that will go with his 22 touchdowns coming into the game. The top target has been Keyarris Garrett, with more than 1,400 yards and 7 touchdowns on 88 receptions. The Golden Hurricanes are allowing nearly 39 points per game, which is one of the worst in the league. Tulsa allowed 30 or more points in 10 of their 12 games this season, including 49, 52 and 66. The Golden Hurricanes have played four teams that were ranked in the Top 25 this season.

Hokies Win; Hurricanes Cover

The Virginia Tech Hokies are playing some good football, and would love to send Frank Beamer out with a smile. While they have not been challenged in their last two, progress has been shown. Remember, this is a program that was one of the best around for several years. Tulsa is not the same Golden Hurricanes team they have been in the past as well. They still want to score, but their defense is one of the worst in the country. Virginia Tech, while not a dynamic offense will use that to their ability and find easy ways to score. While Virginia Tech wins this game by more than a touchdown, I am not sure they will win by two touchdowns. We are going to have to wait until closer to game time to see where this line ends up to make a pick. Check back soon! We are going to roll with the favorites here as the numbers point to the Hokies all which way around, just not sure of risking a backdoor cover by Tulsa. Lets stick to our guns and force, er I mean make another play in the bowls. Should see some points as well so we have been doing great with the totals so lets continue that trend.

FOSTER FARMS BOWL

UCLA vs. NEBRASKA

The game features a Pac-12 team against a Big 10 team. The UCLA Bruins are 8-4, and finished third in the Pac-12 South. The Bruins lost in their final game of the season, and have dropped 2 out of their last 3 coming in. The Bruins beat Utah 17-9 on November 21st, but fell 40-21 to USC. For the Nebraska Cornhuskers, they are one of three teams in a bowl game under .500. The Cornhuskers won just five games on the season. Due to not having enough eligible teams, the Cornhuskers were granted a chance for game #13. Nebraska is coming into the game off a 28-20 loss to Iowa, which snapped their two game winning streak.

Cornhuskers use Passing Attack

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are not the Nebraska team of old. This year’s version wants to pass the football. They passed for 275 yards per game on the season, but much of that has to do with trailing in a bunch of games. Quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr will surpass 3,000 passing yards on the season, and with a huge game Jordan Westerkamp could emerge as a 1,000 yards guy this season. Westerkamp has 7 receiving touchdowns on the season. The bad news for Nebraska is they are putting one of the worst passing defenses up against a dynamic freshman quarterback for UCLA. Nebraska ranked 121st in passing yards allowed during the regular season.

Rosen will play on Sunday’s in the Future

Not next year, but eventually Josh Rosen is going to play in the National Football League. The freshman quarterback tossed for more than 3,300 yards and 20 touchdowns a season ago. The Bruins finished 25th in the country in passing yards, with more than 285 per game. The running game also had a nice season, finishing just shy of 187 per game. The running back situation for UCLA is led by Paul Perkins. He is averaging over 100 yards per game, and a touchdown per game as well. Jordan Payton is the versatile receiver that most teams will need to prepare for. Payton caught 75 passes for more than 1,060 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season. The Bruins best win was that November 17-9 win over Utah.

Too Close to Call

Looking forward to this game. This is one of the games that is like a mini Rose Bowl, as the Pac-12 and Big 10 get together. These are always fun games. The UCLA Bruins have a nice quarterback in Rosen, and the Cornhuskers will have a tough time defending home. The feeling with many is UCLA is going to win this game, but Nebraska under Mike Riley has the ability to stay close. Look for a ton of points to be put on the scoreboard in this game. The point spread makes it difficult to pick a winner at this time. Check back in with this post closer to game time and see if we have a pick. As the line comes down and we see everyone Zig we always Zag. Taking UCLA and buying down to anything affordable and looking for this game to be end the long day of games with some scoring.

This game will be on ESPN, and feature two teams with a combined 18-6 record. The Pittsburgh Panthers are 8-4, and finished second in the Atlantic Coast Conference – Coastal Division. The Panthers lost their final game of the regular season 29-24 to Miami. Before that, the Panthers had won two in a row over Duke and Louisville. For Navy, they are coming in off the rivalry win over Army. The Midshipmen have 10 wins on the season, with losses at Notre Dame and Houston.

Midshipmen leads charge on the ground

The Navy Midshipmen ranked second in college football in rushing yards. Navy picked up nearly 320 yards on the ground. The passing game was weak for Navy, with less than 93 per game. The Midshipmen are scoring 36.2 points per game, while allowing 21.3 on the season. The two losses on the season for the Midshipmen were games, they allowed 45.5 points per game in. Keenan Reynolds is the talk of college football, and finished fifth in the Heisman voting. He set the Division 1 football record for most rushing touchdowns, with 85 in his career. He finished with over 1,200 rushing yards and an additional 1,077 passing yards. His 21 rushing touchdowns combined with his 7 passing touchdowns made him one of the single biggest threats in the game. The Midshipmen are coming off their win over Army, which made the first starting quarterback in the rivalry to win four times.

Panthers led by Pat Narduzzi

Head Coach Pat Narduzzi at Pittsburgh has done well considering the circumstances of the program. The Panthers finished the season scoring 28.3 points per game, and allowing 24.6. In the four losses for Pittsburgh, they lost by an average of 7 points per game. The Panthers are led by quarterback Nathan Peterman and running back Qadree Ollison. Peterman is nearing 2,200 passing yards and 19 touchdowns on the season. His top target is Tyler Boyd, with more than 870 receiving yards, along with 6 touchdowns. Running back Qadree Ollison is approaching 1,100 on the season to go along with his 10 touchdowns on more than 200 carries. The Panthers first loss of the season was by a field goal at Iowa.

Navy Wins by a Touchdown

The Midshipmen are an impressive, disciplined team that is not likely to turn the ball over or make dumb mistakes. Pittsburgh has been a bit of a wildcard, and certainly have shown signs of playing good football. The Midshipmen are favorites in this game, and likely has to do with their ability to run the football, and do the same things without being stopped. I have Navy winning by close to a touchdown. With the spread currently at -3, my bet is on Navy on the moneyline over Pittsburgh. You don't hesitate taking a baseball team at -140 don't be afraid to lay some odds buying a couple points. Check back closer to game time to see how strongly I feel about this game.

QUICK LANE BOWL

CENTRAL MICHIGAN vs. MINNESOTA

The Central Michigan Chippewas finished fourth in the MAC – West Division, with a 7-5 overall record. Central Michigan is coming into the game fresh off two straight wins. The Chippewas won at Kent State and then at home against Eastern Michigan. For Minnesota, they are coming into the game as one of three teams in a bowl game without six wins. The Golden Gophers won just 5 games, and are coming in off a 31-21 loss to the Wisconsin Badgers.

Golden Gophers Not Bowl Worthy

It’s a sad state of affairs for college football, when a team with 5 wins is in a bowl game. The Minnesota Golden Gophers are not worthy of a bowl game. The wins for the Golden Gophers this season have come over Colorado State, Kent State, Ohio, Purdue and Illinois. Outside of the Purdue win, all of those games were by single digits. The best win was over Colorado State, who won 7 games this season. Minnesota has struggled to score; with just 24.6 points per game. Mitch Leidner, the quarterback for the Golden Gophers tossed just 13 touchdowns on the season, with 4 of them to K.J. Maye. The run game for the Gophers did not shine bright, as they ranked 101st with just 142.9 yards per game. The Gophers arguably played their best game of the season in the opener, when they lost 23-17 to TCU.

Chippewas Battle Tested

The Central Michigan Chippewas are battle tested. They lost non conference games to Oklahoma State and Michigan State, along with Syracuse. The conference losses for Central Michigan came at Western Michigan and then at home to Toledo. Central Michigan is scoring 27 points per game, and allowing 22.1 per game. The Chippewas are led by quarterback Cooper Rush, who needs 297 yards in this game to reach 4,000 on the season. His top target has been Jesse Kroll, with 59 receptions, 856 yards and 4 touchdowns. Central Michigan is expected to have a nice crowd in Detroit for this game.

Easy Bet in the Quick Lane Bowl

This is one of the favorite games in terms of betting in the entire bowl season. Just because this is a Big Ten team against a MAC team, does not make the Golden Gophers the favorite in our book to win this game. It’s crazy to me that Minnesota is a 6 point favorite in this game. Central Michigan is going to win this game. They may even win this game by double digits. Central Michigan +7 is one of our top plays in the entire bowl season. Check the moneyline, and it’s worth a play, and could be the best play the entire month. Take the Chippewas and the points and smile all the way to the bank! Can you say Money Line dog!
