The Bears are one of 10 Pac-12 teams eligible for a bowl game. For Air Force, they come into the game with an 8-5 record. The Falcons lost their final two games of the season; at New Mexico and at San Diego State. The Falcons had a five game winning streak coming into that stretch. The Falcons won the Mountain Division of the Mountain West, before losing to San Diego State in the title game.

Falcons keeping football on the ground

The Air Force Falcons are keeping the football on the ground. The Falcons ranked second in the nation with more than 320 rushing yards per game. The passing game was not sharp most of the season; with just over 130 yards per game. The top running back for Air Force this season was Jacobi Owens, with 1,009 yards and 6 touchdowns. Quarterback Karson Roberts rushed for just shy of 1,500 yards and 9 touchdowns as well. The Falcons started the season with a 2-2 record; beating Morgan State and San Jose State, and then falling in games at Michigan State and Navy. The Falcons scored 35+ points in 4 of their last 5 wins. In the two losses, Air Force scored 29.5 points per game.

California Quarterback Jared Goff Putting up Huge numbers

The California Bears quarterback Jared Goff is putting up monster numbers this season. Goff has thrown for more than 4,200 yards and 37 touchdowns. His top target has been Bryce Treggs, with 41 receptions, 813 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Bears passing game has tossed for more than 368.8 yards per game, which ranks 5th in the country. The Bears are scoring 36.5 points per game, and allowing more than 30 per game. California have scored 51 points per game in their last two wins. In the five losses; the Bears scored 24 points per game.

Take the Underdog in Texas

The California Bears have one of the top passing offenses in all of college football. In saying that, the Pac-12 has shown some weaknesses, and this could be another one of those cases. Air Force is fantastic on the ground, as one of the best in the country. The Falcons should be in good shape in this game. Despite being the underdog in this game, the Falcons are going to win this game. The bet for this game is the Air Force Falcons +8 over the California Bears and I’m feeling pretty good about this one.

NORTH CAROLINA vs. BAYLOR

The Tar Heels played in the Atlantic Coast Conference game, and fell to Clemson. They lost their first game of the season to South Carolina and rattled off 10 straight wins. The Tar Heels finished 10th in the final poll of the season. For the Bears, they wrapped up a 9-3 season, despite losing a couple starting quarterbacks, The Baylor Bears dropped their final two games of the season, and lost three of their final four overall. Baylor lost 23-17 to Texas in the season finale.

Bears will start Chris Johnson Behind Center

Chris Johnson is projected to be the starting quarterback for Art Briles and his Baylor Bears. Johnson replaces Jared Stidham, who replaced Seth Russell. Russell got hurt after throwing over 2,100 yards and 29 touchdowns. Corey Coleman has been fantastic in the receiving core for the Bears, and picked up more than 1,300 yards and 20 touchdowns. The run game for the Bears is anchored by Shock Linwood, who has carried the ball 196 times and 10 touchdowns, with more than 1,300 yards. Baylor upset Oklahoma State for their first loss of the season, but then dropped games at TCU and then at home to Texas. The Bears are the top scoring team in the country, with more than 48 points per game.

Carolina Can Score

The North Carolina Tar Heels are also one of the top scoring teams in the nation. They are scoring more than 40 points per game on the season. On defense, they rank 35th in the nation, allowing 22.6 points per game. The passing game for North Carolina is throwing for more than 260 yards per game, and the run game is picking up more than 220 yards per game. The top athletes on the offensive side for the Tar Heels have been quarterback Marquise Williams, Elijah Hood and Mack Hollins. Williams has 21 touchdown passing, Hood has rushed for more than 1,300 yards, and Hollins leads the receivers with 8 touchdowns. The Tar Heels scored 50 points or more in a game 4 times this season.

Bet the TarHeels

Baylor is down to their third quarterback, and have certainly struggled in their past couple games. This is a team that thought they were going to get to the national title game, so look for a letdown a little bit in this game. While they can score, North Carolina can score as well. I look for North Carolina to be motivated in this game, and capture their 11th win of the season. This is anotehr game where I am going to roll with the underdog. With pretty high confidence, I am taking the North Carolina Tar Heels +4 over the Baylor Bears in this game. FYI keep an eye on the line as it moves around quite a bit.

The Wolf Pack come into the game with a 6-6 record. They finished second in the Mountain West – West Division this season. Nevada fell at Utah State and San Diego State in their final two games. For Colorado State, they finished with a 7-5 record. The Rams finished 5th in the Mountain Division of the conference. They wrapped up the season with four straight wins; at Wyoming, with UNLV and then at New Mexico and Fresno State.

Colorado State Winners of Four in a Row

The Colorado State Rams have won four in a row, starting with a road win at Wyoming. The Rams last loss came 41-17 to San Diego State. The Rams are scoring 30.2 points per game, and allowing 27.2 per game. Nick Stevens is the quarterback, and has thrown 21 touchdowns, with nearly 2,400 yards. Dalyn Dawkins has carried the football 156 times for 805 yards and 2 touchdowns. Rashard Higgins is the leading receiver with more than 930 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Colorado State’s head coach Mike Bobo appears to be having the program heading the right direction, and a fifth straight win would be huge for the program.

Wolf Pack Looking to Finish Strong

The Nevada Wolf Pack are looking to finish the season strong, following losses at Utah State and San Diego State. The Wolf Pack started the season 1-2, with losses to Arizona and Texas A+M. Nevada is struggling in the passing game, throwing for just 172 yards per game, while the run game is 28th in the nation with 205.6 yards per game. The Wolf Pack quarterback Tyler Stewart has thrown for over 2,000 yards with Hasaan Henderson leading the way with 50 receptions, 709 yards and 4 touchdowns. The run game for the Wolf Pack is led by James Butler, with 184 carries, 1156 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Mountain West not Happy

It’s really strange, and downright not fair that these two teams from the same conference will have to meet up in a bowl game. But, with not enough eligible teams, the whole system is screwed up this season. The Colorado State Rams are the better of the two teams in this game. The Rams can score better, and really their defense is just as good, or probably better than that of the Wolf Pack. Taking the favorite in this game is the easy choice for me. Let’s forget the small three point spread and bet Colorado State MoneyLine in the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl.

Les Miles is returning next year as the head coach, despite the controversy. For the Texas Tech Red Raiders, they are 7-5, and finished 6th place in the Big 12. The Red Raiders are coming into the game off two wins; scoring 54.5 points per game in their wins over Kansas State and Texas.

Red Raiders will air it out

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are going to throw the ball all over the field. The Red Raiders rank 2nd in the country in passing yards and 2nd in points per game. The Red Raiders are throwing for just shy of 390 yards per game, while scoring 46.6 points per game. Many wonder if that affects the run game, but Texas Tech is 30th in the country with 204.8 rushing yards per game. The problem for Texas Tech is their defense, which is yielding 42.6 points per game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is 217 yards away from 4,500 on the season. His top target has been Jakeem Grant, with 80 receptions, 1,143 yards and 7 touchdowns. The run game has seen DeAndre Washington carry the football 223 times for 1,455 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Tigers using Fournette to lead the way

Leonard Fournette leads the Tigers with more than 1,700 rushing yards. Brandon Harris, the quarterback threw for 12 touchdowns, with Malachi Dupre leading the way with 602 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Tigers started the season with 7 straight wins, before losing to Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss. LSU finished the season strong with a win over Texas A+M, which led by Les Miles being carried off the field. The Tigers have the best recruiting class in the nation coming in next year, so they hope this game is a springboard into a bigger bowl game next season.

Take the Tigers to the House

The LSU Tigers are going to win this game. Texas Tech has had a nice season, and I am glad they are back to getting into bowl games. The Red Raiders still cannot play defense, and while LSU is not an offensive juggernaut, they are athletic enough to put points on the board. The world will get a chance to see Leonard Fournette, and they are going to be impressed. Les Miles has the monkey off his back, and you can believe they are ready to show the nation, they will be a force next season, especially with their upcoming recruiting class. This is not the easiest bet to make but I am taking the LSU Tigers -6 very small.

BIRMINGHAM BOWL

MEMPHIS vs. AUBURN

Auburn lost 29-13 in their season finale to Alabama. Previous to that, the Tigers scored 56 in a win over Idaho. For the Memphis Tigers, they are 9-3 on the season. The finished third in the American Athletic Conference, West Division. Memphis blanked SMU 63-0 in the final game of the season, which snapped their three game losing streak. Memphis fell in games to Navy, Houston and Temple.

Memphis Looking to Finish Strong

The Memphis Tigers started red-hot. They won as winners of their first 8 games. Then with losses to Navy, Houston and Temple, they had to bounce back by blasting SMU by 63 points. Justin Fuentes left the program, and new head coach Mike Norvell is excited about his opportunity. He runs the ship with a quarterback that threw for over 3,600 yards on the season. Memphis ranked 7th in the nation with more than 42 points per game. Doroland Dorecus and Mose Frazier are the top two targets for the Tigers, as they have combined for more than 1,300 yard and 12 touchdowns on the season.

Auburn led by Gus Malzahn

Gus Malzahn has a seat that is getting a little bit hotter following the 6-6 regular season. The Tigers were projected as one of the top teams in the SEC – and they finished at the bottom of the SEC – West. The TIgers are coming off conference losses to Georgia and Alabama in their last two games. The Tigers are led by their quarterback Sean White, who threw just 1,064 yards on the season. Peyton Barber is the true threat for the Auburn offense, as he needs just 24 yards to get to 1,000 on the season. Ricardo Louis has put together a solid season, with 45 receptions, 699 yards and 3 touchdowns. Auburn scored just 27.2 points per game, and allowed 27.3 per game.

Take Memphis to the Bank

There is absolutely no doubt in our mind that this is going to be a one sided affair. The SEC against the Conference USA, it’s hard to believe the outcome that we feel will occur. The offense of the Memphis Tigers is just way too strong for Auburn. The Tigers of Auburn are typically one of the best rushing teams in all of the country, and this year, they just can’t seem to get it together in the dominating style of years ago. Look for the passing game of the Memphis Tigers to be the huge difference in this game. In what may be the GAME OF THE YEAR for us this bowl season, take the Memphis Tigers +3 over the Auburn Tigers.

MISSISSIPPI STATE vs. N C STATE

The Wolf Pack are 7-5 on the season and 4th in the Atlantic Coast Conference – Atlantic Division. North Carolina State is coming off a loss to North Carolina on November 28th. Before that, the Wolf Pack beat Syracuse 42-29. For the Bulldogs of Mississippi State, they are 8-4, and finished 6th in the West Division of the SEC. The Bulldogs are looking to bounce back following their 38-27 loss to Ole Miss on November 28th. On November 21st, the Bulldogs played a wild one, in which they beat Arkansas 51-50.

Bulldogs led by their passing game

The Mississippi State Bulldogs want to pass the football, and they will do so. The Bulldogs finished in the top 20 in passing yards, with more than 310 per game. The run game ranked 103rd, with just 140.3 yards per game. The quarterback for the Bulldogs has been Dak Prescott, with more than 3,400 yards and 26 touchdowns. Prescott was also the leading rusher for Dan Muller’s team, with 541 yards and 10 touchdowns. Fred Ross needs just 67 receiving yards to get to 1,000 on the season. The Bulldogs started the season 3-2, with losses to LSU and Texas A+M, both teams that were ranked when they played.

Wolf Pack have home advantage

The North Carolina State Wolf Pack will have the home field advantage in this game, being played in CHarlotte. Look for a bunch of red clad Wolf Pack fans to be in attendance in Charlotte. The Wolf Pack have scored 38 points per game in their last two. In those two, they also allowed 37 points per game. North Carolina State passed for more than 200 yards on the season, but garnered just as many rushing yards. The Wolf Pack ranked 32d in the country in rushing offense. Jacoby Brissett tossed for just under 2,500 yards, with Jaylen Samuels, the tight end being the top target. The Wolf Pack are underdogs in this game.

Take the Home Crowd

The home crowd is going to play a huge difference in this game. The Atlantic Coast Conference is better than most people think. The North Carolina State Wolfpack do enough good things, and Jaylen Samuels will be a huge weapon against the Mississippi State defense. Look for the Wolf Pack to play with much more energy in this game. The bet for this game is going to be the North Carolina State Wolfpack +7 over the Mississippi State Bulldogs and you may also want to consider taking NC State on the MoneyLine.

The Louisville Cardinals have finished the regular season strong, winning five out of their last 6 games. The Cardinals lone loss during that time came at Pittsburgh. The Cardinals finished strong with a road win at Kentucky last week. Louisville is scoring 30.3 points per game, while the defense is allowing 24.3. The Cardinals offense is anchored by Lamar Jackson, at quarterback. Jackson has tossed for more than 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jackson’s top target all season has been Jamari Staples, with more than 600 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. The Cardinals lost to Auburn, Houston and Clemson to start the season.

Aggies Losing Quarterbacks

The post regular season has not gone well so far for the Texas A+M Aggies. The Aggies have lost both Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray, their two quarterbacks, as they are planning to transfer. The Aggies scored 28.3 points per game during the regular season, but fell in their season finale at LSU. Texas A+M won their first five games of the season, and had wins over Arkansas and Mississippi State. Following losses to Alabama and Ole Miss is where they saw the slide begin. Allen was the quarterback most of the season, and finished with over 2,200 passing yards.

Bet the Aggies

There is a little drama coming out of College Station but they should be able to weather that storm. The Louisville Cardinals, led by Bobby Petrino have been a team that has improved as the season moved along. Look for this game to be very competitive from start to finish. I think you should take the points in this one. It’s a closer one, and a small bet for me, but I am taking the Texas A+M Aggies +4 in this game.

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOLIDAY BOWL

WISCONSIN vs. USC

This game will be played at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, and be shown on ESPN. This game is known as the Holiday Bowl. The USC Trojans finished the season ranked 25th in the nation. The Trojans are 8-5, and finished 1st in the Pac-12 South, before losing to Stanford in the conference title game. The Trojans had a midseason coaching change, which sparked improved play. For the Wisconsin Badgers, they are 9-3, and finished third place in the Big Ten West. The Badgers won four of their final five games; with their lone loss coming 13-7 to Northwestern. Following that loss ,the Badgers went to Minnesota and beat the Golden Gophers 31-21.

Badgers Look for Spark in Offense

The Wisconsin Badgers lost three games this season. In those three losses, the Badgers scored just a total of 30 points. The Badgers on the season scored just 27.1 per game. Defensively, Wisconsin was fantastic, as they allowed the fewest points in all of college football. The Badgers allowed teams to score just 13.1 points per game. The Badgers losses came to Alabama, Iowa and Northwestern; all top 20 teams. Wisconsin’s offense will need 76 yards from receiver Alex Erikson to get to 1,000 on the season. The Badgers running game sees Joel Stave at quarterback, with nearly 2,500 yards passing this season.

Trojans Surging

The USC Trojans with an 8-5 record would be looked at by many as a disappointment. The Trojans have had a nice season, and will be a Top 15 team to start next season. The Trojans have a new coach in Clay Helton, and he hired Tee Martin as his offensive coordinator. The offense this season ranked 31st in passing and 61st in rushing. The Trojans scored 35.1 points per game. In their last two losses, USC allowed 44.5 points per game. In their last 5 wins, they allowed just 24 per game. On the season, the Trojans allowed 25.9 points per game. Quarterback Cody Kessler has thrown 28 touchdowns on the season, with 10 of them coming to JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Take the Trojans

The USC Trojans are a favored to win this game by a field goal. It appears the Trojans are in good shape, with a new coach, and a nice recruiting class on the line. The Trojans played well to finish the season, but couldn’t get the job done in the Pac-12 title game. The record of 8-5 doesn’t indicate how good this team is, and could be. Look for the USC Trojans to get a good game out of their quarterback Cody Kessler. He has been nursing a thumb injury, but that will pass, and the Trojans will score points. The bet for this game is the USC Trojans on the MoneyLine over the Wisconsin Badgers in the Holiday Bowl.

CHICK-FIL-A PEACH BOWL

HOUSTON vs. FLORIDA STATE

This game is slated to be played on ESPN at noon local time. The two teams are both ranked inside the Top 25, as the Houston Cougars are ranked 18th and the Florida State Seminoles are 9th. The Cougars are 12-1 on the season, and were the winners of the American Athletic Conference. For Florida State, they won 10 out of 12 this season, and finished second in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Seminoles without Winston

The Florida State Seminoles are of course without Jameis Winston, who won a Heisman Trophy, and a national championship. Winston is not starting at quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Instead of Winston, the Seminoles are anchored by Everett Golson. Golson came over from Notre Dame, and passed for 1,778 yards and 11 touchdowns. Dalvin Cook is one of the best running backs in the nation. Cook rushed for more than 1,650 yards and 18 touchdowns, on 211 carries a season ago. The Seminoles were the 29th best scoring team in the nation, with 35.3 points per game. The bread and butter for Jimbo Fisher’s team is defensively, as they are allowing just 15.8 points per game.

Cougars have fantastic quarterback

Greg Ward Jr. has been a man on a mission behind center for the Cougars this season. Ward has thrown for 2,590 yards, and rushed for an additional 1,041 yards on the season. Combined, Ward has helped with 35 touchdowns this season. The Cougars are scoring 40.6 points per game, and winning games by nearly 3 touchdowns per game. The lone loss for Houston came in a surprise, on the road at Connecticut. The Cougars played that game without Greg Ward Jr, and scored 17 points; by far their lowest output of the season. Houston hopes with the hiring and extension of their head coach, they can become one of the top power football programs in the country.

Take the Cougars

What a game this is going to be. The Houston Cougars are a really nice team, and Tom Herman has done a fantastic job as the head coach. The Seminoles are not quite as good as they have been the past couple seasons, but are still an elite force. Look for this game to put up a bunch of points on the scoreboard. The Houston Cougars are going to win to get the ball up and down quickly. Florida State has a fantastic defense, can score, and have a tremendous running back to use. In the end, the bet for this game is the underdog; Houston Cougars +8 over the Florida State Seminoles.

CAPITAL ONE ORANGE BOWL

CLEMSON vs. OKLAHOMA

This game will feature the 4th ranked Oklahoma Sooners and the top ranked Clemson Tigers. Oklahoma has just one loss on the season, coming in a rivalry game to the Texas Longhorns. The Sooners won the Big 12 regular season title. For the Clemson Tigers, they are the lone unbeaten team in all of college football. The Tigers wrapped up an unbeaten regular season with a win in the Atlantic Coast Conference Finals against North Carolina.

Sooners Offense has been Juggernaut

The Oklahoma Sooners offense, led by their head coach Bob Stoopes has been an absolute juggernaut. Recently, the Sooners are the hottest offensive team in all of college football. The Sooners have scored 30 or more in every game they have played since the loss to Texas. On the season, Oklahoma is scoring 45.8 points per game, which ranks third in the country. The passing game for Oklahoma has found Baker Mayfield toss more than 307 yards per game. The running game for the Sooners, led by Samaje Perine has also been great, with more than 1,200 yards on the ground. Oklahoma has five wins over ranked teams this season.

Tigers led by Associated Press Coach of the Year

Dabo Sweeney, the head coach of the Clemson Tigers has been named the Associated Press Coach of the Year. Sweeney’s team has been terrific on both sides of the football, with more than 288 passing yards and 222 rushing yards per game. The Tigers offense scored 38.5 per game. Clemson scored under 30 points in a game just twice this season. DeShaun Watson, the Tigers quarterback has thrown for 30 touchdowns on the season, with Artavis Scott as his top target, with 5. Outside of the win over North Carolina, the Tigers also boast wins over Florida State and Notre Dame.

Bet on Clemson

Wow – this is going to be an incredible football game. This features the Heisman third place quarterback against the Heisman fourth place quarterback. DeShaun Watson and Baker Mayfield have been outstanding for both teams. The Sooners can also run the football with the best of them, while Clemson has a defense that is very underrated. Look for this to be a high scoring game though with the winner getting into the 40’s. The bet for me in this game is Clemson +4 over Oklahoma. A Clemson ML bet isn’t a terrible idea either.

The Tar Heels finished 10th in the final poll of the season. For the Bears, they wrapped up a 9-3 season, despite losing a couple starting quarterbacks, The Baylor Bears dropped their final two games of the season, and lost three of their final four overall. Baylor lost 23-17 to Texas in the season finale.

Bears will start Chris Johnson Behind Center

Chris Johnson is projected to be the starting quarterback for Art Briles and his Baylor Bears. Johnson replaces Jared Stidham, who replaced Seth Russell. Russell got hurt after throwing over 2,100 yards and 29 touchdowns. Corey Coleman has been fantastic in the receiving core for the Bears, and picked up more than 1,300 yards and 20 touchdowns. The run game for the Bears is anchored by Shock Linwood, who has carried the ball 196 times and 10 touchdowns, with more than 1,300 yards. Baylor upset Oklahoma State for their first loss of the season, but then dropped games at TCU and then at home to Texas. The Bears are the top scoring team in the country, with more than 48 points per game.

Carolina Can Score

The North Carolina Tar Heels are also one of the top scoring teams in the nation. They are scoring more than 40 points per game on the season. On defense, they rank 35th in the nation, allowing 22.6 points per game. The passing game for North Carolina is throwing for more than 260 yards per game, and the run game is picking up more than 220 yards per game. The top athletes on the offensive side for the Tar Heels have been quarterback Marquise Williams, Elijah Hood and Mack Hollins. Williams has 21 touchdown passing, Hood has rushed for more than 1,300 yards, and Hollins leads the receivers with 8 touchdowns. The Tar Heels scored 50 points or more in a game 4 times this season.

Baylor is down to their third quarterback, and have certainly struggled in their past couple games. This is a team that thought they were going to get to the national title game, so look for a letdown a little bit in this game. While they can score, North Carolina can score as well. I look for North Carolina to be motivated in this game, and capture their 11th win of the season. This is anotehr game where I am going to roll with the underdog. With pretty high confidence, I am taking the North Carolina Tar Heels +4 over the Baylor Bears in this game. FYI keep an eye on the line as it moves around quite a bit.

I would assume on some of these games with low spreads it shouldn't matter too much.  UNC as a small dog probably wins if they are gonna cover anyway.  Same with a couple others.  Know what I mean??  But I'm not Spooky, so maybe he has more rigid guidelines

Hey yes several of these lines have moved a ton....please use your judgement - just like my comment on Central Michigan these were posted on other forums and our site a bit ago and I apologize for missing them here until now....trying to get caught up after the holiday weekend

For the North Carolina game obviously still like Carolina but maybe a smaller play on the money line....

Take the Underdog in Texas

The California Bears have one of the top passing offenses in all of college football. In saying that, the Pac-12 has shown some weaknesses, and this could be another one of those cases. Air Force is fantastic on the ground, as one of the best in the country. The Falcons should be in good shape in this game. Despite being the underdog in this game, the Falcons are going to win this game. The bet for this game is the Air Force Falcons +8 over the California Bears and I’m feeling pretty good about this one.  Well a 2 point conversion in Monday’s game cost us a great start to the weekend but that is why I buy the point where needed so we grabbed a push with Central Michigan and today we ride into the start of a big week of bowl games.  Air Force should score and you know California will score so think the Over is a good play as well for today.

Sweeney’s team has been terrific on both sides of the football, with more than 288 passing yards and 222 rushing yards per game. The Tigers offense scored 38.5 per game. Clemson scored under 30 points in a game just twice this season. DeShaun Watson, the Tigers quarterback has thrown for 30 touchdowns on the season, with Artavis Scott as his top target, with 5. Outside of the win over North Carolina, the Tigers also boast wins over Florida State and Notre Dame.

Wow – this is going to be an incredible football game. This features the Heisman third place quarterback against the Heisman fourth place quarterback. DeShaun Watson and Baker Mayfield have been outstanding for both teams. The Sooners can also run the football with the best of them, while Clemson has a defense that is very underrated. Look for this to be a high scoring game though with the winner getting into the 40’s. The bet for me in this game is Clemson +4 over Oklahoma. A Clemson ML bet isn’t a terrible idea either.
