The line is likely to go down when the news of Julio Jones's broken hand becomes public knowledge.
I am not down on my team at all. I predicted before the season started that Bama would probably lose 1 or 2 games this season, and I identified the South Carolina game as the game they would most likely lose. I repeated that many times through the first few weeks. I also said in my South Carolina write-up that I would probably be fading Bama in this game. I fully understand who they are playing, and my money is already on Ole Siss +20.

You may be right that the injury may not have a big effect on the line, and I don't disagree with you on who will win the game. I do, however, disagree that Bama will win this game by 20 or more points.

I recall that post very well and found my self agreeing with you. I am also a huge bama fan that allways enjoys reading your picks. I live in Auburn and WOW! I am tired of listening to their bull shit! I think Arkansas gives them a run for their money this week! Tired of the Cam Newton show. Can't wait till Marcel Darious gets a hold of that ass.

If you have a link, by all means post it. But I have not seen it in the news at all.

Excellent spot to back Ole Miss coming off of a bye week, and catching Bama on homecoming.

My line has remained unchanged. I thought the Julio injury would become public knowledge rather quickly and possibly push the line down a bit. Evidently Saban is not planning to release that info. Saban is famous for doing that. Last year before homecoming he did the same thing with Javier Arenas. I released the info on Javy about 2 days before kickoff. Be that as it may, I stand behind my Julio injury info.
If the Julio injury info is not released, then I think the better tactic my be to hold off until closer to kickoff. I expect the public to jump all over Bama playing the "Bama is due for a big rebound game" card. Therefore, I believe +21 is certainly withing the relm of possibility. I was planning to bet Ole Miss at anything above 17.5 so I'll happily take 20 or 21.

Now that I re-read your post, I catch the sarcasm.
I'm now down on Bama. I fade them in games every year. I am a little disappointed in the defense this week because I really thought they were starting to hit their stride.
If I am disappointed in anything it is QB Greg McElroy. I thought with a year of experience under his belt, he would be a much improved QB this year. That has not happened. Evidently he has plateaued. He is the same old anemic GMac who can't stretch defenses and keep them honest.
The reason Alabama was losing to Arkansas 17-7 at the half instead of winning 21-10 was the fault of one person, and one person only . . . GMac. He cost Bama backers the 1st half and game covers. In consecutive games against Arkansas and Florida, Alabama completed a grand total of one pass 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage, and that pass was thrown by WR Marquis Maze - not GMac. I wrote about this in my South Carolina write-up.
Bama will be playing their last 6 SEC games against SEC rivals who will have had 2 weeks to prepare for them. We saw how that first one turned out. Right now, because of GMacs inability to stretch the field, Bama is very easy to defense. We saw that in the USC game. Losing Julio for this game will only exacerbate Bama's difficulty in stretching the field.
With 2 weeks to prepare, Ole Miss does have the talent on the defensive side of the ball to mimic Ellis Johnson's template to slow down Ingram, Richardson and GMac's dump-off passing game.
