Bama will have trouble running on Texas D. SEC does not have the offense that the BIG12 clearly has had. Florida had diminshed passing attack, and Tebow was a runner this year.
McCoy and Texas have been playing to the level of the competition last 2 games.
They have an excellent opportunity to win it all. Alabama QB will throw 1-2 INTs--he is not clutch at all.
TEX ML is not wasted money.

This explains it right here....Its very simple...BIG 12 was garbage this year...
80 % of the conference was rebuilding for next year and the next.
Love how everyone thinks NEBRASKA is great now from last night....For the fact they lost to Iowa St. at home...Congrats...I will say they played out the season very well though
But then again hmmmmm....They played Overated Texas....Yea and almost won... and then last night Arizona...
If you can't figure out the Pac -10 is a joke by now your an idiot...Mountain West rolled Oregon St. and Cal....UCLA almost lost to a MAC school....and don't even start with the USC horseshit...A loose program letting players do what they want freely...You wanna throw coin on Texas be my guest

Big 12 is right up there with Pac 10 and ACC. The Texas D is much improved and that's because of Muschamp. This Texas O is hardly it's usual juggernaut. The under and anything BAMA -6 or under is a gift. SEC... By the way. The last Texas National Championship....was a gift. If they play LSU instead of USC that year, Vince Young gets chased out of the stadium.

Rolling with the SEC and Saban.

No Man...Im just open-minded and I don't see Texas doing very well in this game...They haven't played anyone this year like this team of players Bama has...Honestly a good bowl game would probably be TCU and Texas...I would rather see that then this...Very possible Mccoy is like Tebow here in a week.

I've got to go with Bama Big here. This Tex is a great run defense doesnt sit with me. The Big 12 doesnt run the ball, look at the stats on that, not a top 20+ rusher in the nation. Tex caught a break when Bradford went down and played 9 in the box the rest of the game. Homa had the better defense in that game imo and frankly Tex ranks behind Neb and Homa in Big 12 def.
Tex off consist of McCoy, Shipley, and a kicker. No running game to speak of at the RB position. Bama should have no trouble stopping McCoy run threat and one WR.
At the end of the day the Big 12 is not an impressive conference other than three top tier def that are inferior to Bama Def and also Fla and probably LSU. Big 12 had a down year in Off compared to the last three years so numbers could be deflated a little there.
I see a 23-10 game if Tex doesnt turn the ball over but potentially worse with some late Tex turnovers trying to come back from a 2+ score deficit.
Best of luck

3.Colt is Great. Shipley is as well. Alabama has the tools to stop this...
- Texas has no run game PERIOD! this year!
Finally the best question of all:
When has this so called great Texas defense been challenged this year by a well balanced offense?
Never! Not one time this year...OU was a clusterfcuk team and the game was still close...Neutral Site...Big time rival game.
Texas struggled with Wyoming on the road, Colorado -in Austin, and Baylor til halftime...
Granted Texas is a 2nd half team this year, but if they sink early forget it...
Then as of late they get expose by TAMU?...Are you kidding me?
Then follow with a circus game against Nebraska?...Pathetic.
They don't deserve to even be here in this spot right now.
Alabama has too many playmakers on offense...something this Texas defense hasn't seen all year!
Florida D which I think is better than UT got smashed.
Forget the Heisman jinx on this one:
Wish I would have read this before posting cuz you nailed it on the head. I have no ties to either team and this was a perfect logical unbiased opinion from a Texan!

- Bama D will play TX like they did UF....keeping McCoy in the pocket and not rushing past him. Tebow only had one big run and Bama DBs covered the Rec. Look for the same.
I have some insight to the defensive game plan, and I can tell you this is completely false. Bama was not at all concerned with sacking Tebow. They just wanted him to keep him contained in the pocket, and throw from the pocket. This is so because Tebow is not a good pocket passer. You are 100% correct about that. But the last thing in the world Bama wants McCoy to do is set his feet and throw from the pocket.
The game plan is to sack McCoy, or in the alternative, flush him from the pocket preferably to a predetermined side of the field. This will cut the field in half which will give Bama's defense the luxury of only having to defending half of the field. In short, expect Bama to come after him with guns a blazing!!!

What I've noticed is when the Colt is pressured he folds . The man got lucky when they gave him that second back on the clock . Texas may stop the Ala run game , but it's the play action passing of Bama's Qb that will tough to buck ! Has this guy lost yet as a starter . He's a winner . Not saying he's better than Colt , yet , all I'm saying as this kid does well under pressure and I feel handles that pressure better than the Colt . Hard to go against a guy named Colt McCoy, ( great football name ) but for now I'm leaning with Bama . Texas offense one dimensional and vs a D like Bama s you need the full monty . Good luck whatever side you choose .

If you go to my thread on this game, you will see 2 rushing stats charts I posted. What those charts show is that Alabama's defense has faced 4 opponents that rank in the top 15 nationally rushing the ball, and they held those 4 opponents to an average of 48% of their usual rushing output. An amazing stat.
Texas faced no teams that ranked in the top 15.
Alabama held its opponents that ranked in the top 30 and top 50 to 49% and 42% of their outputs respectively, while UT's opponents for thos same catagories achieved 85% and 76% of their season outputs.
When Texas has faced any type of quality ruching attack (24th & 25th), they have struggled to slow them down.
Alabama has the 12th ranked rushing offense in the FBS, far and away the best Texas will have faced all year.
Conclusion: UT's rushing defense is a paper tiger, and will not be able to slow Bama's rushing attack down.

AlphaDog and managerdent, are you guys kidding me? I have come on this forum 3 other times this season (we won't count all the times I did it last season) and begged people to hammer Bama (VT, Ole Miss & Florida). This will be the fourth time. What do all of these games have in common? Bama was giving up 7 or less points in each game.
This Texas game might be the easiest out of all of these. Just as I repeatedly said in my writings before the Florida game, not only will Bama win this game, they will win it HUGE!!! I was mocked for saying it then, and I probably will be mocked again, but the bottom line is I WILL be correct . . . again.
As TBH correctly pointed out above, UT's offense is not only one-dimensional, it really just boils down to Colt McCoy and a bunch of small receivers with the exception of perhaps Malcolm Williams. Saban's defense won't have much trouble shutting this offense down, and I wouldn't be at all shocked if they shut them out completely!!!
On the other side of the ball, Texas is just way too small to man up with Bama in the trenches, or to effectively tackle Ingram and Richarson effectively for 4 quarters. Bama will pretty much do what they want when they want just like they did in the Florida game.
My recommendation is to bet Bama HUGE and start drinking real early, because you might be in bed by halftime. This WILL be total domination in all phases of the game by Bama.
Score Prediction:
Bama 38 Texas 3

TX D-line will be the best line Bama has faced all year. Mc will have to make plays and come from behind to win this game---and won't be as easy as it was against Auburn. Bama also hasn't faced a passing attack nearly as good as the TX one. i believe not one in the top 40. as was displayed last night, NU defense is the perfect matchup against UT. Bama's will be easier to pass on.
and to say Mack Brown didn't coach well in last nat. championship? what are you smoking. he totally outcoached Pete Carroll---going no huddle tired the USC defense out and allowed VY to run wild. he also went for 2 at the end of the game forcing Carroll to take a time out which could have meant the game.

UT's D-line only really has a chance to be a factor in the passing game, and the only real chance they have of being a significant factor is if they can take Bama's running attack away.
Overall Bama has a much better defense than Nebraska, and they will be much more difficult to pass on. Bama's secondary will manhandle UT's small receivers at the bump zone. I think there is almost no chance UT's offense scores more than 10 points in this game, and may not score at all. Because they are one-dimensional even before the opening kickoff, they will be very easy for Bama to defend.
I think Bama's offense versus UT's defense is a complete mismatch in favor of Bama.
