This game will be won by a field goal, either way. take the points
This game will be won by 10 FGs!!!
Texas has an equivalent group of receivers as LSU did against Bama---and LSU could have won that game if Jefferson didn't get hurt. Jefferson missed throws all day that McCoy makes.
Florida does not have the group of receivers Texas has either. Basically stop Tebow and you win the game (which Bama did)
Texas was bad against the run on 1 series against OSU (the first series Tostin went wild), the last "balanced" offense we faced with a big offensive line (who led the country in sacks allowed I believe). Then Muschamp made the adjustments and rushing game was over. TX has one of the best secondarys in the country and can play man with safeties over the top to help Chykie Brown. Kindle and Acho are such good DEs, that allows the LBs to stay in space and not blitz. therefore they can stop the run and force Mc to pass.
Robinson was confused as hell and made mistakes--he also said it was the best defense he's EVER faced (as a 4-year starter). I expect McElroy to see many more confusing looks than he has ever faced. I'd rather have McCoy in the 4th quarter, period, over Greg McElroy. McCoy has pretty much seen it all, and Bama's blitzes won't faze him. What kills him is rushing 4 with such pressure and dropping 7 into coverage.
Texas has been sleepwalking since OSU and relishes being the underdog here---Saban himself is much more concerned than you are Jimmy which should raise a red flag (flying out Stoops, psychological help, etc.). Saban had a year to figure out a scheme to beat Florida---but this is the best spread team he will have seen all year with many more weapons. This is NOT like last year where OU's defense was a fraud.
No way this is a blowout, TX may lose but it will be close.

The other compariosn everybody makes is the OU game----realize, we had 1 proven receiver at that time. now Ship has moved to the slot where he is a much bigger weapon and Williams/Buckner/Goodwin have come on in a big way. this is not the same offense as in mid-October. also, Tre Newton was hurt in that game.
as a Bama fan, Buckner and Williams would be my big concern (as well as Ship on special teams). Buckner is a mismatch for most defenses---as he's a receiver converted to TE....so he is faster than most LBs (and i don't think McClain will be chosen to cover him)
Davis is gonna pull all the stops out---there will be things inserted that Bama has never seen before. The last few games were vanilla offenses as Texas has been playing for this game all season. Expected surprises ala Auburn to losen up the Bama defense.

AlphaDog and managerdent, are you guys kidding me? I have come on this forum 3 other times this season (we won't count all the times I did it last season) and begged people to hammer Bama (VT, Ole Miss & Florida). This will be the fourth time. What do all of these games have in common? Bama was giving up 7 or less points in each game.
This Texas game might be the easiest out of all of these. Just as I repeatedly said in my writings before the Florida game, not only will Bama win this game, they will win it HUGE!!! I was mocked for saying it then, and I probably will be mocked again, but the bottom line is I WILL be correct . . . again.
As TBH correctly pointed out above, UT's offense is not only one-dimensional, it really just boils down to Colt McCoy and a bunch of small receivers with the exception of perhaps Malcolm Williams. Saban's defense won't have much trouble shutting this offense down, and I wouldn't be at all shocked if they shut them out completely!!!
On the other side of the ball, Texas is just way too small to man up with Bama in the trenches, or to effectively tackle Ingram and Richarson effectively for 4 quarters. Bama will pretty much do what they want when they want just like they did in the Florida game.
My recommendation is to bet Bama HUGE and start drinking real early, because you might be in bed by halftime. This WILL be total domination in all phases of the game by Bama.
Score Prediction:
Bama 38 Texas 3

Let's take a look at this...
1) UF DOES have as good of receivers as any team in the country.
2) McElroy has seen a lot better defense int he SEC than TX has played against in the Big 12.
3) McCoy is a GREAT player. Bama is and should be concerned about stopping so IF they do...what does TX do? Run the ball?
4) Saban is concerned as he has this team in unchartered territory. By the way, he didn't fly Stoops in. Stoops entire staff came in to discuss the Pacific Institute that Saban has used with the team and to watch a practice. He showed up as practice started and left shortly after. Sure he is more concerned with beating Stanford vs helping Bama beat TX.
5) Don't see a blow out either. GL

I think TX will be able to run the ball on Bama. It will be more Auburn style and a lot more zone read. Auburn ran for over 150 yds I believe in that game (although big chunk was on the first quarter big play).
TX will try and spread out the Bama defense to allow its running game to work.

But Jefferson did get hurt and so did about 5 other LSU players, not that LSU was effective in the passing game with him in there anyhow (Sidenote: LSU is better than every team in the Big 12 including Texas, and so is Florida). But the fact that he did get hurt brings up a whole other subject which is that I'm not sure any team playing Bama this year has finished with all of their starters in tact.
Bama routinely knocks guys out of the game, and it virtually never happens the the way around. I predicted that Bama's physical style would knock out at least two of Florida's starters in the SECCG, and sure enough, that's exactly what they did. Likewise Bama will knock out at least two of UT's starters in this game. UT backers just better hope McCoy isn't one of them. If Texas tries to get too cute with him, that just might be what happens.
The bottom line here is that Bama is way more physical than anything UT has faced all year, and they have not faced a power running attack even remotely comparable to Bama's, so comparisons to Okie State are almost laughable. Moreover, Texas has no way to replicate Bama's power in practice. Like I always say, you can't fake physical. You either have it or you don't, and in this game Texas don't.
If your banking on Bama and McElroy to make a bunch of mistakes, I think you have a better chance of hitting Lotto. Bama has played in more big games against tougher competition in tougher venues than Texas, so if anyone melts under the pressure, it'll be Texas, not Bama. One thing you can pretty much bank on is that Bama won't make mistakes. They are probably the most disciplined team in the country.
On the other side of the coin, McCoy will get destroyed. If he struggled with Nebraska, wait till he faces Bama's monsterous and ferocious front 7. Furthermore, I think UT's receivers will get mauled at the LOS and will rarely get seperation against Bama's secondary. UT is completely one-dimensional. That will make them very easy to defend, and they will be defended. Texas won't break 10 points in this game.
