That wasnt the main point of my post. It was the lack of SEC dominance for a decade like you said. It was just another conference. It began in 2006 when florida beat ohio st. Gators were a 7pt dog in that game. Obviously at the time people were all over the sec as much.

Name another college football conference that has come close to the SEC the past decade.

Since 2006 none. The whole decade its just a toss up. Many different natl title winners. The SEC ones started in 06. This is a recent thing with the SEC.  All conferences actually suck. Just a few solid teams at the top

Yup, nobody gives a shit at all. Yet watch when (if ever) the Big 12 becomes the top conference all of a sudden everyone and their mother will care.

So my question is: has it ever happened before where a 6 team division in college football had at least 5 teams ranked in the top 20 and at least 3 teams in the top 10 going into November?

    The Rankings are Nice

    Can't Argue with them

    Exactly. You can't.

But i never said the sec was the best the first 5 years and neither can you. They were no different than anyone else and certainly not the best.

I didn’t say pick and choose certain years within the past decade, I said the past decade overall.

So once again, I invite you to name a college football conference that has been better than the SEC the past decade.

That will never happen because the SEC will never be the #2 conference to those that live in the south. If they have some one or 2 loss teams its because "they play a tough schedule" and if they have 5 teams in the top 20 (wont by years end) its because they are awsome and would win by 50 in the pac 10 or big 12....

I simply point out that the SEC west has 5 out of 6 teams ranked in the top 20 going into November and you come back with “nobody gives a shit. Its not like you or the fans did anything.”

Wow. So you mean the SEC west won’t have 5 out of 6 teams in the top 20 and 3 teams in the top 10 after they all play each other?

That’s some insight you got there buddy.

Again.. it's not like the SEC West isn't a good division.. but when the SEC East's only has 1 ranked team (19th)- how would the teams that started off ranked in the SEC West still not be ranked

the wins have to come from someplace.. doesn't mean it's impressive..

Bama, Auburn, Hogs, LSU all started the season ranked.. so if the other division only has 1 ranked team (then everyone else having 5-6 losses (along with 3 loss Florida), of course the West teams will still be ranked.. again, the wins have to come from someplace..

    Auburn/Bama/Arkansas  ok..

LSU will still end with 3 Reg Season losses.. and would have gotten smoked by UNC if the Heels actually had their starters on the field
Miss State- c'mon.. I can name 40 schools better that this one..
Ole Miss- where's the heat that Rebels lost to D-2 school, yet VT still can't hide from it..

No team in the East should be ranked and it wouldn't surprise me to see only Auburn and Bama and maybe Arkansas to be the only teams in the top 20 by the end of the year..

I realize you rarely have a rational thought, so let me break this down so even you can understand it.

Including the SEC Championship game, SEC teams will play each other 49 times.  That means that 49 times a SEC team will win, and 49 times a SEC team will lose.  It is also mathematically impossible for more than one team from the SEC (or any other conference that plays a conference championship game) to be undefeated.  The past two years there was a dominant, undefeated team in each division.  This year there is a lot more parity than there has been in the past, primarily because Florida graduated almost everybody.  When you have a lot of parity in a conference like the SEC does this season, those 49 losses will be more evenly distributed.  That doesn't mean the SEC sucks, or even that the SEC is down.

Alabama, for example, has LSU, Mississippi St. & Auburn remaining on their schedule.  That means there will be 3 additional losses spread amongst 4 of the top teams in the SEC.  Does that necessarily mean that the teams that lose those games are terrible and not deserving of a top 25 ranking?  Probably not.  This is what happens when you, unlike Boise, play a legitimate D1 schedule.

Your statement that no team in the SEC East deserves to be ranked also demonstrates your mental deficiency.  But for 2 ridiculous 4th quarter coaching blunders, there is a good chance that South Carolina would be undefeated and ranked #1 in the BCS.  They are a solid team in all phases, and are clearly deserving of their ranking.

Florida is the most talented team in the entire country.  If they get their act together down the stretch and run the table, they would also be deserving of a top 25 ranking.

Do you just say that stuff and not read what I'm saying.. of course the SEC West teams are ranked because every SEC East team has 5 losses except for Florida and South Carolina..

The wins clearly have to come from someplace.. so if the entire SEC East keeps losing games.. that means the SEC West wins games.. and if ranked teams win game.. they stay ranked..

I swear arguing with SEC homers is so pointless sometimes...
