no, the "angle" is that his CAREER he's an 80% kicker, not 85.  Again, selective sample size can do wonders for an argument...but i choose to be objective, not subjective....unlike yourself.

no you argue bro.... thats what you do

the whole thing started when I told you it was a bad beat when a 84.6% kicker misses a 20 something yard FG to win and cover a game.... but yet you took the path of arguing saying otherwise.

you would argue and disagree with me about anything...it's just you

Look, spin all you want, I don't need for anyone to see the error in your logic and the amount of spinning and backtracking you do..majority of the board knows already...We've all accepted that you welched...so what?  it's only your rep that you tarnished....

Just don't be surprised and offended and call people trolls just because guys are debating with you.  What do you expect?  you make some of the silliest arguments out of anyone on this board and you constantly backtrack and contradict yourself...and then you cry foul LOL...

No one likes the guy who throws rocks and runs.

    Boom-

Fair enough I guess- Like others have said- nothing to get overly excited about- I am not here to argue or troll- we have differing opinions and I am just as passionate about college football as you- As many things we will agree to disagree on many subjects- if we all agreed about all this stuff then it would not be nearly as fun

The good thing is sooner rather than later I see this playoff expanding to 8 teams then we can all girl about those! lol

injuries are apart of the game.... every team goes through it.... should we get passes for every time a player goes down? ABSURD.... My team has been without 6 starters for several weeks..... but you know what.... IT IS WHAT IT IS.

I think you should take a LONG HARD look in the mirror.  I pointed out the MAJOR fact that TCU lost by 3 (HF advantage spread) in WACO.  Something YOU YOURSELF pound home.  Road games.  That's trolling?  Keep digging yourself deeper...again, it's only your own image, that image you care about so much, that you are tarnishing (even moreso).

I'm not eager to support the committee, but it was made clear that Strength of Schedule would be a top priority in determining the playoff teams... Auburn has played by far the toughest schedule in the country... BY FAR!  LSU has played one of the toughest schedules... Oregon's schedule is top 20, but I think they have some of the more impressive wins in CFB this year...

    What are FSU's "impressive" wins?

Let's be real for a second... if FSU played in the SEC, there is ZERO chance they would have fewer than 3 wins... I am smart enough to figure that out!

They play a second rate (or third rate) schedule... they aren't be rewarded for doing that!  If the ACC teams want to get some respect, they will have to rely on the rest of their conference to stop sucking so much A$$!

You can't penalize teams for being heavy favorites... that is assinine logic!  It doesn't matter that Auburn and Oregon were 24 pt favorites... it matters who those teams are... the public and books make those teams heavy favorites, but that isn't a reflection of reality...

FSU would struggle to beat teams like A&M and LSU... for sure!  I personally think LSU would manhandle FSU, but we won't get a chance to find that out... however, if and when FSU has to face TCU, or Oregon, or Bama, or Miss St... it will be lights out!

    Fellas.......

Here is the deal, pure and simple.

Mississippi State is ranked #1 and Bama is ranked #5.  Oregon is 2, FSU is 3 and TCU is 4.

These rankings are designed to assure that there is a team from the SEC in, and more than likely 2 teams in.  Bama beats MSU, then Bama is #1 or 2#.  MSU wins out after the loss, they are most likely #4.  MSU has the best track to make it in....even better than Bama's.....it could be advantageous to miss the SEC title game, and get an at large bid out of the SEC west.

Oregon wins out, then they are in, despite the big loss at home to Arizona. Oregon has looked human this season, @ WSU, @Utah, and of course Zona woodshedded them.  Stanford and MSU are the quality wins......both at home, and both opponents are showing how mediocre they are. UCLA isn't top flight either.

So, bottom line is this:  ESPN and the SEC are joined at the hip.  Nike has huge sway when it comes to Oregon getting national respect every year despite the slip ups.

The Big 10 is screwed in this system, more than likely because of the Big 10 network butting heads with ESPN at every turn. Ohio State is a damn good football team, better than Oregon, and will not get a look.

    This whole thing is garbage.

    My list is this

    TCU
    Bama
    Miss St
    Oregon

    Baylor
    Florida St
    Auburn
    Arizona St
    Kansas St
    Ole Miss

The list looks good... the top 4 are the ones I think are the best, with the next 3 a very small step behind... (incidentally, I still think they need to make it an 8 team playoff... and if you had those top 8 in a playoff, it would be the most exciting playoff system in the history of sports!)

But I digress... until FSU loses (very possibly this week), I don't think the Committee will keep them out... would cause too much of an uproar...

However, the first statement is definitely true!  Last year has nothing to do with this year, and we should not (in any respect) be rewarding FSU this year for what they did last year!

Only on covers.   Now we r going to use quality of loss in a head to head battle.   Really.   R we gonna now go back and re analyze all previous champs to make sure they actually won the stat battle and not just the final score.   Boom is correct head to head has to be the trump card.  Quality of loss should only be used if the teams didn't play each other.

In addition to the ranking problems I'm starting to wonder bout this whole system.   I don't like the SEC but they deserve at least 1 team.  What is the committee going to do if the other 4 conferences has 1 loss teams and the best SEC team has 2.   More importantly, what if the SEC east champ wins the champ game.   Is the committee going to turn around and say they r not the legit champs.  Well then why play the game.   SMH

Bottom line is FSU deserves to still be ranked #1 until someone beats them but I don't believe they are the best team in the nation. I also don't believe Miss St is. Bama will take care of MSU this weekend and the rest will play itself out. Being ranked 1 or 4 really won't matter much when the playoff starts, the argument will be coming from the 5th and 6th teams.

Nothing against you bro, so don't take this the wrong way...but do you have any reading comprehension?  Let me break it down for you...

Boom used a double standard to strengthen his argument both ways...on one hand, he tried to pump up FSU's SOS resume by noting only "current" top 25 teams in comparison to TCU's wins.

Then, when trying to discount Oregon's SOS, he disregards that Arizona is CURRENTLY in the top 25 and instead notes that when Oregon lost to AZ, AZ was UNRANKED and a 24 point dog.

I asked Boom to clarify which is it, current rankings or is it gametime rankings that should matter as obviously, AZ shouldn't have been a 24 point dog to the ducks.  He responded by defining the meaning of current, which was not the question.

Therefore, it's obvious that his reading comprehension, along with yours it seems, inabsence of a better word, is lacking...hence, my LAST response that will be directed towards him.  I now understand where he is "at" and feel no further need to discuss any topic with him.  I fully understand why he posts the things he posts.    I'll no longer clutter the circle jerk that is boom's threads.

I'll no longer clutter the circle jerk that is boom's threads.

there are so many games still to be played and so many variables in play but some interesting scenarios are setting up. Here's how I see the four.

    1) Baylor is screwed. Perhaps with a quality win over ksu, they could leap tcu but unless the frogs trip at Texas, that jump is unlikely. Like it or not frogs likely control destiny.

    2) if asu beats az, winner of pac12 title game will be for playoff spot. And even if Asu stumbles, ore will probably be into double digits in title game and have to be strongly favored for spot.

    3) if Ohio st wins out and beats the wiscy-neb winner, they should creep into final four. imo it would be justified. Odds of them winning next four would have to be only slightly over even money

    4) the two biggest question marks are the sec scheduling and fsu. It is feasible that as these sec teams trade losses late, that all become two-loss teams (bama over miss st, miss over miss st, auub over bama or bama lose title game/ or misst over bama and then lose to miss and in title game, etc.). Could it be possible then that with all these quality one-loss teams out there that no sec goes? And fsu can only qualify as an undefeated at this point so all eyes are on them.

And btw it wouldn't shock me to see Ga run the table (mizz will lose 2 more) and be the sec's rep. I'd like to find a price on that
