nice... a little preview of what to expect on your thread, huh?
and don't think for a second this means you are getting out of doing your thread... this one is just for fun...
get on it, man!
Ice, I have already started. It is going to get a bit tricky for week 1 though as I am going to be out of the country next week. So likely the last consensus update I will be able to post will be around noon on Friday (I may be able to sneak one in from the airport in Newark early Saturday morning though). Several of the guys I follow don't post final picks until Saturday morning....

I guess I should have been more detailed...

Ice - great thread my man.
Just wondering if you're doing sides here, or if totals can be talked about as well. If they can, has anyone seen any soft totals?

Bracks... the best answer i can give you is this... last year Alabama at Tennessee the line was around 7 all week, and everyone was in love with Alabama... when the line came down to 6.5, everyone went into a panic, and a lot of people stayed off the line... many people asked me why the line would come down... my answer: "people are stupid"... Bama 31 Tenn 0
Festo... nice definitions... thanks for the education!
atlheatholder... couple people threw in some totals already... ND/Nev OV and Bama/VT UN... those both seem like totals a lot of people are liking...

Here's a bit on Miami, OH's D:
DEFENSE: Unfortunately, the Miami defense was just as bad when compared to the
offense last year, as the RedHawks were pounded for 396.0 yards and 32.7
points per game. The main issue was the unit's inability to stop the run, as
opponents gashed Miami-Ohio for 208.0 ypg on the ground, but coach Haywood is
hoping with both his tackles back for the 2009 campaign that they can learn
from last year's experience. As for the defensive end positions, the team will
likely lean on Jordan Stevens and Morris Council, both of whom saw limited
time a year ago.
The biggest area of concern in 2009 will be at linebacker as the team lost
Joey Hudson and Clayton Mullins, the top two tacklers from a year ago. Caleb
Bostic will likely man the middle and he has some experience, starting in four
games in 2008. The strength for this unit once again will likely be in the
defensive backfield, as the team has three starters returning, including
corners Cornelius Ward and Jeff Thompson.
SPECIAL TEAMS: The only bright spot for the RedHawks last season was the
special teams, but their kicker Nate Parseghian (20-of-23 FGs) and punter
Jacob Richardson (36.4 net average), so both will have to be replaced. As of
now it looks like redshirt freshman Jim Broadway will have a shot to pull
double duty, kicking and punting for Miami-Ohio. The return game in 2008 was
extremely solid, thanks to Eugene Harris, who averaged 9.1 ypr on punts, while
also scoring twice. Dustin Woods averaged over 25.6 yards per kick return,
while Jamal Rodgers posted an average of 20.6 per return.

this is a good thread ice but its tough pickin just three.
throw another one down for NOTRE DAME-- small finesse team that doesnt travel well from a relatively weak conference i might add, nd lookin to make a statement early. think this games about 41-17.
UAB and BAYLOR -- basically the same writeup u had on uab, i think the same can be said for baylor albeit in a road game.
