Hello WahooS, good luck this week. Let's keep plugging away. I have been extremely profitable myself this year, except I took a bad beat since Sunday...and the pain continued again last night with MNF and the World Series. (As a rooke baseball better, and now a newly retired one, I must say I think the World Series is just rigged.)
Anyway, you have talked up Oregon all week, did I miss your play on Oregon -5? Are you going to join me in this game? I am usually one to play the opposite of easy lines, but I believe Oregon is for real. I hope I'm not waiting in line for the public slaughter.
if you are new to this than just hang in there, you will get better each season, and if you are making a profit then your all good, a profit is the key
as far as Oregon goes, I will probably get on them, I just hate the spot for them, that being said, I don't see Stanford being able to stop them
Stanford is coming off a bye week, they play well at home, they have a very solid coach, Oregon is coming off an emotional win against USC, the spot says stay away but common sense says if the Ducks play decent they win by 7, if they play well, they win by 17, if they play poorly then it is a tossup, Stanford just doesn't have the defensive speed to stop the Duck attack
my opinion of the game is Oregon - 5 or no play because of the bad situational spot they are in, we are talking about college football players that are young and can easily have a letdown
all that being said, I will probably still back Oregon here

Wahoos, looks like you're starting to heat up!! I'm new on here, but LOVE reading your stuff man, you really know CFB. Just wondering if you would still take Temple @ 17. My guess is my local will have it at least there, maybe even 18 by gametime.Thx in advance for your time, and BOL the rest of this year

Heck, I thought you were the old, grizzled veteran. Without tuning this into a treastise in Wahoos' thread, a lot of folks have asked me over the past couple of years why I "win all the time" in college football. Well, I think I "win all the time" because I lost all the time for the better part of a decade before this. In the process, I learned how to stay away from "fools gold" plays, and got pretty good sense of how things would play out on the field even if the prior results seemed to counsel otherwise. I also learned to value certain things (the presence or absence of playmakers, solid quarterbacking, particularly away from home, coaching, overall team speed) that I hadn't focussed on too much in the past. This year, nothing seems to matter. When I have the wrong side, I've gotten punished. If I've had a lucky win this year, I can't remember it. When I've had the right side, I've too often been the victim of the blocked kick (always returned for the TD, by the way), the pick-6, the goal-line turnover(s), bad calls, locust, hail, whatever. All you can do is to keep plugging away. What I am NOT going to do this week is to run away from the obvious public play. Houston is WAY better than Tulsa. I don't care if the line is doing jumping-jacks, I'm betting it. Ditto Oregon, and Oklahoma. If I'm going down, I'm going down with 75% of the public.
No shit. Just a mess this season. Ball bouncing the wrong way. three more from saturday:
TCU -35. 10 yard TD pass to cover 1:39 on clock.
Boise -36. 36 yard TD run to cover with :20 on clock.
Ohio st -44. 53 yard TD run to cover with :05 on clock.
it's gotten to the point where i'm afraid to play anything.

I think Temple will win by 20-24 points, probably would consider any number under 16, might have passed if the opening line was 17, can't really say

Just checked and saw there was no line for this game at my book, any reason for this? Line seems fishy as it is, but I'll most likely roll with Houston anyway.......way too much offense.

yes, UH is now the dog, I didn't wait long enough either, I have two books that have Tulsa at - 2 now, Houston is banged up but they have been for weeks, I live in Houston and know everything about this team, they have no defense but Tulsa doesn't have enough offense to expose that in my opinion, I think Houston wins by 10-13

Lots of games looking so good I figure, some have to be sucker bets.
Miaoh @ Temple (-17 temple) 2 pathetic o's but one good d.
Nwestern @ Iowa (+16.5 Nwestern)
KU @ KanSt (-2.5 KU) This is a lock
TXAM @ Colorado (TXAM -3) Another lock.
Rice @ SMU (-17.5 SMU) Rice might be the worst all around team stat wise.
LSU @ Alabama (-7.5 Bama, Id love to par it with the under as long as its 37 or less. I know its risky but D is stingy and they have home field.
KenSt @ Arkon (Ken st -3) Arkon is the only team giving Rice a run for worst team
ORE @ Stan (ORE -6.5) Oregon is playing great ball while Standford is just all around good, but nothing spectacular. I think the score will make the game look closer than it is.
TCU @ SDST (TCU-24.5) SDST has the 2nd worst run Def. TCU has 7th best run O with a Defense #1 in yards allowed. Nuff said.
HOU @ tulsa pick 'em HOU. Hou covers spreads all year. They may give up 40 but they score 50. They are top 3 in passing and points scored. You know what you got. People have been nocking this bet but I love it. Tell me what you all love, tell me what you hate and good luck to all.
I also like MICH St and MICH but will wait for lines to move. If anyone has good reasoning on why these picks should not be made, id love to hear it
If anyone loves the picks, Id love to hear their rationale.

I wish I had posted my picks earlier, as they are going to be virtually identical. That's sort of embarrasing. I think I have literally already played all of those games, except Kent, and I'll probably play Kent. In the immortal words of TRAIN "Akron is doo doo."

why do we have people like grins coming in here throwing around the "L" word after loooong discussions about trying to get back into the season with all the BS thats gone on cant STAND fools like this who think thats it GOTTA be that easy not to mention that two of the 'locks' (A&M and Kansas) are on SMALL lines and playing AWAY games!!! what makes that soooooo easy? He must have been one of the Joe Public's getting HANDED W's this season with zero thought
Wahoos, sorry for the rant, im glad you are back to your traditional form and are turning the cornerreally like quite a few of your picks and DEF want to back USC this weekend but they have cost me a bit this year and simply leave a bad taste in my mouth BOL this weekend sir

ASU defense is pretty stout, but yes, their offense is awful, that can't be disputed.
If I somehow see a 10 or 10.5 come along, I may hook it and lay my first road chalk of the year on SC. Can't fathom too many scenarios where ASU scores over 17, and SC should muster 4 TDs no problem.
YEAH, I saw that ASU defense up close in Athens.. Georgia had their way with them.... and you know how good we are.... Using USC and CAL in the same sentence in analysis of a game is rediculous.... USC will DESTROY ASU... I mean by 30+ points...

KSU will win SU in Manhattan.... Hawks have ZERO defense; CATS will run and pass at will..... Bill Snyder will out scheme THE BIG FAT GUY ( whats over under on his weight? 400? ) KU has lost three in a row; one to that Colorado team you have as "locked" loser to aTm ???? yeah that Colorado team beat KU... KSU abused Colorado in Manhattan.... Did you watch Wildcats vs OU last week??? they played tough and it was a 5 point game late in 4th quarter.... That LOCK is broken buddy.....
