Week 5 Money

Teams I am lookin at so far are
 
Penn State -6.5 (Finally a low spread against a weak Illni team, even with Juice)
 
Cincy -27.5 (Didnt cover agasint Fresno, but Miamo(OH) is a high school team)
 
Houston -16 (Houston has the ability to make this game ugly like Texas did)
 
OSU -16 (How good is Indiana? Playing with Michigan doesn't mean anything. Buckeyes are SOLID since USC loss)
 
HEAVY LEAN
 
GT -4.5(MSU isn't that good.LSU sucked it up. GT can cruise with great running game)
 
 
I am also leaning on the Oregon, BYU, and TexTech games.
 
I know its all big teams but they are playing NON UPSET ALERT games as well.

This line is correct Cigarra. LSU may be undefeated but they are not as a talented team as advertised. All of LSU's wins are ugly wins, despite beating ULL by 28 (Nebraska did the same but by 55).

Don't think I'll bet the game, but for those games above I'd definitely go against LSU. Unless, Florida has to cover 45 or something.

i agree... LSU is currently the most overrated team in CFB... as you will notice on page 1... i don't even have them in my top 10... in fact, would put Cal ahead of them in a heartbeat!

Yeah I bet the ML on MSU this weekend and I was all smiles until Chad Jones(there best all around player) tipped the pass to incomplete the winning TD.
 
But I pity people who constantly bet LSU to cover when they never do. I just wish people would listen and finally realize that LSU isn't the team from 2003 or 2007.

Might I add, that notice I am from LOUISIANA...and live an HOUR from LSU and still despise how people praise them.
 
Just wanted people to know I wasn't some biased out-of-state Florida or Oklahoma fan.

Cal seems to be "one of those teams" that, when the going gets tough, they get going - as in home.  That was a disgraceful effort.  FYI, I'll be at the USC game this weekend in Strawberry Canyon. 
 
I think you have TCU too low.  They are a pretty complete team.  For some reason, their game at Tiger High wasn't on any of my 16 CFB channels.   
 
LSU is hard to bet against, and impossible to bet on.  Florida will destroy them, though. 
 
I watched the second half of the Houston/Tech game on Sunday morning, and was certain it would be 4X better than anything else I saw all day.  I'm not sure how people watch pro football.
 
Temple/Buffalo might be the most deceptive final score of the seaon.  Wouldn't be surprised to see EMU and UB cash  this weekend.
 
If BYU hadn't gotten the last touchdown Saturday, I might have called it a year.  It wasn't like CSU didn't potentially deserve the cover - they got like 30 first downs - but I had gone about 0-15 this year on late covers before that.
 
I think I read that Griffith's back-up got hurt too.   They could play me at QB against Kent and be ok, but they are really going to struggle after that.  I think the back-up is basically a pro-style QB (assuming he comes back), so they'll really have to shift the whole offense mid-season.  Good luck, Mr. Briles.
 
I think Ole Miss' "effort" against USC may have had less to due with the flu than it did with them being pretty average.  I'm also beginning to wonder just how good UNC is.  The score on Saturday flattered them, and they still got their asses kicked.

I really bet on Cox and UGA this past week, I should be shot laying two touchdowns with that team, I love Mark Richt and I like UGA's program but Cox needs serious improvement
 

I'm guessing you missed how Snead perforned in the 2nd half of last season.  He was average the first half and great the 2nd half.  The NFL scouts know talent when they see it and if you did some homework you might understand what Snead is capable of when he isnt nursing the flu or coming off the resent death of a very close family member.

Cox needs serious improvement? Actually he is doing a lot better than people thought he would.  The last 3 games he has 818 passing yards 8 TD's and 4 INTs.  Not great numbers, but certainly not bad either.

Agree with Ice.  Wahoo and Ice were definitely on the right side..When you lose a cover from a hail mary, that is flat out shitty.  Sometimes you are on the right side and lose. 

I remember one pro game (I think Car vs Saints) and Car was up 7 favored by 2.5 with 11 seconds left.  NO (or whoever, might not have been them) had to go 80 yards with no timeouts.  So basically they had one play.  They threw a pass lateralled the ball several times and scored on a last second 80 yard fluke play.  Ok, so I am pissed but think to myself, Car will still cover in OT.  NO missed the extra point and lost the game by one point.  In the words of Ted Striker, "What a pisser."  Clearly on the right side but a loser.  It happens

I am usually do very well in college football season particularly in the first half of the season, but thus far I've been positively horrendous. I think it's been a tough year for a lot of people.
 
I lost 11 straight in college basketball a couple of years ago!!!
 
With respect to your top 10, where is Virginia Tech??? They've got to be in the top 10 don't they???  Personally, I would put them in the top 5, but then again, what the hell do I know???

The Air Force play was a poor selection, no matter how the game ended up , SD St is a terrible team, but when you have a big fave like that, you want a tiger carrying your money. AF isn't going to blow many teams out and they don't have the type of team to do so. You lay -17 a lot and you will see backdoors all day

I've done quite well on college this year, including with the Buckeyes, I laid off of the Navy game, but the USC game was one of my biggest plays in quite a while. The Toledo game, I predicted that would be a blowout, and with Illinois, I really thought OSU would cover that one very easily, which they did.

I'm glad you're up for the year. Hell, I'm glad that ANYONE is up for the year.  However, there aren't many people alive who can/should be giving capping advice to the owner of this thread, and I don't think you're one of them.

Well besides the games I've chose already, I was looking into the Oregon game (Ducks to cover).

 I'd also be willing to the the USC play (Cal played shitty against Minnesota and got embarrassed by Oregon, game could get ugly too).

Also watching out for the Kentucky/Alabama game, and even though I am an avid Miami fan, I really think OU will will this game easy (with or without Bradford)

So right now, if I had to pick to games to add or make single plays on....Oklahoma -7 and USC -6.

I know I play big teams, but it works for me.
