One that stuck out on going through them again: Minnesota +10. Does Purdue really deserve to be laying ten points to anybody? I know Minnesota is terrible, but they've at least had a pulse in two games so far, and Purdue is in a somewhat unfamiliar role as a favorite. Any thoughts?
I agree...rebound off that awful trouncing we laid on the gophers.
Like Fres at home buy hook to +21.5

Don't like betting totals, but I don't see how clemson doesn't cover unless they pull all starters after the first half. They are playing better every week and I like them to continue here.

I jumped on the under at 55.5. This is my play for Saturday. I don't trust BC to score, and I don't see Clemson sleep walking. Remember that this is a revenge game from a bad loss last year @BC. I know RJ remembers as he had BC and I had Clemson. Road chalk. uggh.
35-10, give or take a TD on either side.

Whats good captain! Well Ohio st needed to change qb's at halftime. That was ridiculous. I knew you were going to say that about the OU game. This game will not be close. I have road the Texas revenge tour all the way to the bank so far! But as for this game. Texas is the sucker line..... OU has kept everyting close to the vest so far. Expect the O to actually show up this game. Will prob follow all games wit ya but that one LOL

A statement like this is exactly why you should count your Clemson money that you've made so far and at the very least just lay off playing this game. As pointed out earlier, this train has left the station. There is no value in backing a Clemson team that could possibly sleepwalk and overlook BC with a lookahead to a road game w/ Maryland next week...
As for them "playing better every week and I like them to continue here"; dont you think LSU backers were thinking the EXACT same thing? I mean, LSU looked like the one of the best teams in the country and then they grab a pathetic UK team at home. What happened? UK eeked out a cover, but a cover neveretheless...The line was off, and backers of a weak UK team cashed their tickets...
Sorry for the rant here, its just as if people dont even read whats being discussed in threads like these The whole point is to say that Clemson has played at their highest level, the spot is bad, and the line is inflated accordingly to their play as of late. We know Clemson has looked great; the whole country has seen Clemson look great. Hence, value lies in BC regardless of the outcome.
Sometimes it just seems that no matter what arguement is presented folks just want to look the other way...
Good luck this week.

Lucrative you are so right. I go into OU games with blinders on. LOL. But rarely play any substantial money on them. Except for sat lol. But as for threads like these. Some people are just ignorant. They are so stubborn and need to be right all the time. But id rather get my money than stand on my soapbox LMAO. WE know how to play this thang called ncaaf betting. Some people will never learn.

Well said OU. The whole point here is discussion. If someone can take me off a play that's a loser, that's a win in itself. That's a good feeling (even though initially I was wrong) to be talked out of losing money...Pride has to put aside sometimes. Ignorant stands can cost money...
I hear ya on the blinders though. I rarely bet on the Heels (never bet against them, it's a sacred thing), but I am also one to offer on when to fade them without my money being on it...
Lotta fans on thse boards let their respective loyalties cloud their judgement...
GL this wknd bud, lets find some winners

I highly recommend that people re-think backing Boston College. This team is absolutely horrible. Their running back is banged up and they cannot score. The play is Clemson or no play at all. this is the highest Clemson has been ranked in years --they will pile it on -- not to mention they are at home. BC has nothing to play for and are rebuilding this year I have seen them play in person twice this year. Do NOT waste your money on BC.

I guess its the master of the obvious statements that get to me. We all KNOW that Clemson is playing great and are a solid FB squad. Its just, you know, try to think outside of the box. Just a little. It doesnt hurt that much. When you do, at least you have looked at both sides of the wager...
Could Clemson win in a blowout? Maybe. Could they sleepwalk to a small victory? Maybe. The points made hear are that maybe, just maybe, there is a good spot to fade Clemson here as they are about as high as theyve been since in like 20 years. Just a thught.
Also, whats with the "nothing to play for" comments? Thats the worst horseshit statement exuse/reason/anything to bet/fade a team...Yeah, these kids dont care and are jsut gonna lay down. Yeah right. Everyone wants to be a spoiler. Everyone wants to win. In fact, IMO, one of the most dangerous teams to play are one with nothing on the line...
Ask Boston Redsox backers and fans the last GAME of the season about this. What did Balti have to gain? They had "nothing to play for"...Uh huh, how's that end up.
Ok, said my 0.02

Like the comments except for BC. They may keep it within 21, but there is ABSOLUTELY no way that Clemson is on upset alert. BC is one of the worst teams in the country.

Starting to think the BC/Clemson under might be the way to go. BC won't score on a sleepwalking Clemson team. But a sleepwalking Clemson team might have trouble scoring on BC.

Interesting not to see you on Indiana this week. They're 5-0 in the last two years as a home dog, and Illinois has a bit of a sandwich spot between a hard-fought Northwestern game and Ohio State next week. Would've jumped on this at 17 if I'd noticed then, but I'm still tempted at 14.
You usually have a pretty good read on the Zookers. Thoughts here?

High-flying Georgia Tech laying only 2 TDs to Maryland in Atlanta is a serious red flag to me. The last we saw of these teams, MD was getting pasted by Temple and struggling with Towson, while the Jackets continue to steamroll all comers. Past history shows the Terps to have a great game plan for stuffing the triple-option. I'm sure they spent more time practicing for Tech than they did Towson last week. The Towson game was as close to a bye week as you'll get by playing. Maryland + 14 or better.

Illini also 0-4 as a road fave the last three years. This is far and away the best O the Hoosiers have seen yet, but interesting spot considering those trends and the come-from-behind home win last week for Illinois
Thought I'd see Buffalo in here...almost fits your exact reasoning for an Idaho play

I have always bought into your buy low, sell high NCAA therory. I caught some of your threads last year around bowl time and it really hit home. Especially the Baylor/Illy bowl game. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your info.

Week 6...last year. Another poster was in your same boat. I was begging him to rethink and he didnt, let me explain:
Oregon was rolling, 5-0. 4-1 ATS and they just named their score against Stanford.
Stanford was rolling, 4-1. 3-2 ATS, but they just lost a hell of a game to Oregon and they were on EVERYONES radar.
There was another team as well, but I forget now. He started a thread with thoughts like yours. These teams have no chance not to cover etc. Oregon didnt come close and Stanford almost lost SU at home.
You know what happened that week? The books adjusted. Everyone began paying a premium. Lines were obviously inflated.
Thats all I think you are getting this week by betting on a team like Clemson. Trust me, I have been involved in their last 3 games and thought I was getting great lines in each of them. I went 2-1 ATS, but Clemson has gone 3-1 ATS in very, very high profile games. There is no way you arent overpaying and if you think its overpay or no play, you are on a different planet than I am.
On top of all this, you can make yourself rich betting against teams that just won as dogs on the road when they come home to be favored the next week.
Clemson can still sleepwalk through this game. But BC is in a hell of a spot to pull a cover. They have nothing to lose and I think teams are dangerous when they are in that spot.
For all who think I said Clemson was on upset alert this week, I did not. I meant that whatever happens this week, Clemson is on upset alert no matter what next week. And listen, I dont need you in here rah-rah'ing about Clemson. I needed you against Auburn and Florida State in back-to-back weeks when you were still a bit worried about the team.

Getty, agree about MD. Just with GT shitting the cover last week, I didnt like the line I saw.
Linde, I dont really look at many Buffalo games, to be honest. Same as Wyoming, but without the hatred. I dont really mess with many South Carolina games, either. Idk.
