I pray that this line will get to 21+ by kickoff. I will be putting a significant amount on Vtech to cover. All this arrogant bama talk is ridiculous! Yes they obviously are more talented than Vtech but do you guys really think Vtech will lay down to Bama? Hell no they wont! Beamer will have this team prepared week 1. I think Logan Thomas will come out with confidence and he will not turn the ball over. Im sure Beamer is preaching this over and over again that in order for them to have Any chance at beating Bama, they cant turn the ball over. As long as Logan has 0 turnovers and we can score 2 tds, which is totally possible IMO, we cover this game! All you fools max betting bama week 1 are idiots! You do know 90% of the world will be on bama to cover right? S-H-E-E-P

Thinking that tech will hold bama under 34 points is laughable. Better defenses than theirs have tried and failed. Granted it's a brand new season and anything can happen. But just use some common sense, bama will score in the 30s.
That said, if you like tech to cover, why not play the over instead?? It is a MUCH safer play. Even IF bama gets held to 31, gotta have 14 hokie points. And at 45 that is a push. Just my opinion tho. BOL to all you tech backers

Bama starting DB Geno Smith just got a dui... I wonder if Saban will suspend him. I hope he does! Better for logan thomas
he wasn't a starter...no impact on the field...could be positive...send message to team to be focused and not get complacent...Thomas and the Hokies are "f&cked" either way...

A couple of things here. First, Saban is one of if not the strictest coach in the country. I have no doubt that Geno will be suspended for some length of time. His suspension for the first game will not rescue Virginia Tech from what's headed their way however. In other words, it will have zero effect on the outcome of the game.
Now if Geno were suspended for the Texas A&M game, that could very well be a different story.
The second thing is that, while Geno will see a lot of playing time in various packages, he is NOT the starting corner.

To say that a Geno Smith suspension would have no impact is not quite accurate. When eligible to play, he figures to have a pretty big role in several of Alabama's defensive packages. On the other hand, I agree that it will have zero impact on the upcoming Virginia Tech game, because Tech simply doesn't have the passing attack necessary to exploit his absence.

Cory Marshall DL Virginia Tech took a leave of absence from the team. May not play against Alabama. Marshall, although not a starter, played a lot last season and help with the depth on the DL.
