That same criteria also prevents me from taking a side on the
Clemson / UGA matchup.

The total however .............

I think they'll play some defense.First game of the year.
Don't think the offense will be running on all cylinders in
Week 1.

I also factor the "starts on the offensive line" stat in my early season capping.  That stat, however, becomes less reliable as the season wears on.

That said, overall Alabama will have a better offense than they had last season.  In fact I'm very confident in saying that Alabama will have one of the best offensive teams in the country.  I think it is pretty much a lock they score north of 40 points against Virginia Tech the opening week of the season.  Yes they lost 3 highly touted offensive linemen, but they are left with 5 experienced and highly touted linemen.  It will again be one of the best units in the nation.

While there will undoubtedly be some breakdowns from time to time as there is with almost any offensive line - particularly early in the season - I think it will have almost no impact on the outcome of the game.

As I have said previously, I'm not crazy about laying 24 (although I would consider 23.5), I think taking Alabama in the 1st half would bet an outstanding bet, particularly if it falls under 2 TDs, which I don't think it will.  I think the 1st half will play out similar to last season's Michigan and Notre Dames games.

I personally think Clemson vs Georgia is a tossup...Staying away from that one. Both have great offenses but terrible defenses. Might lean on the over in that one for sure...I think Nwestern is a lock at +5.5...as well as Ole miss +2.5 over Vandy. What do you guys think?

I think that Bama losing 3 O lineman will not be much of a
problem vs Va Tech as I do not expect Va Tech to score
many points in this game.Logan Thomas has proven to be
horrible against very average ACC opponents . I believe he
will really be exposed week 1 against Alabama.
My 3 O lineman , etc rule is mainly for 2nd and 3rd tier teams
as they do not have the same capability to " reload " as Bama
does, but you are correct at - 24 value is an issue.

Any thoughts on the VT TT? I mean, they aint gonna be able to run very well and Logan Thomas is not gonna do well (never has vs a decent defense). What number would make you bite? I assume the total will be high 40s/low 50s? Linemakers looking for a 38-14 type final....

BAMMER isnt better than EVERYONE else!! They play an easy schedule for 2 years!! 3 decent teams in those 2 years of schedules TEXAS A&M, LSU, and GEORGIA  look at the schedules and tell me if any other team is worth a SH IT?????  BAMMERS record against those 3 decent teams is an ASTOUNDING 3 WINS and 2 LOSSES!!!  Could be worse if not for that BAMMER FU CKING LUCK!!!

To say BAMMER is better than EVERYONE else is a GROSS MISJUDGEMENT!!  They are only better than the high schools on their schedule!!  Not better than other teams of same caliber!!!

BAMMER has lost at HOME in NOVEMBER 3 years in a row!!  Hell that RUNT which BAMMERS think is GREATEST coach in world(wonder how many thought that when he was at LSU) isnt great at all!!  SHOWS HOW DUMB BAMMERS ARE!!

IF it wasnt for DO OVERS, HOLDING ALL GAME EVERY GAME, ESPN KISSING RUNTS AZZ, EASY AZZ SCHEDULES,CHEATING IN EVERYWAY POSSIBLE, ETC 

BAMMER WOULDNT BE SITTING WHERE THEY ARE TODAY.

Their current OL coach is Mario Cristobal. He was the head coach at FIU and did a pretty good job there and was fired after a sub par season. He is well thought of in the coaching community and has brought a new enthusiasm to the Tide staff.

They are a very deep team across the board except for CB.

Yacker, Thanks for the information. Bama's O line played so well
last year, I was hoping a coaching change would not interfere with
the development of this year's group.
I agree with you on DB's. UGA in the SEC championship game
made them look to have only average ability which could be
problematic.

Laying 24 with Alabama is awful and has no value whatsoever. I don't care if the Tide wins by 40. You are essentially betting on the back to back defending national champs with probably the best whole roster in college football. The bookies know how good Alabama is and made the line higher than it should be.

LSU  460 yards of offense  Bammer 260  Dumb azz play calling cost LSU!!   Clemson ran up and down the field on LSU   BAMMER COULDNT!!  BAMMER PLAYS A PUZZY SCHEDULE every year and gets DO OVERS etc!!  VT SUX wouldnt touch either side but BAMMER been lucky and given SH IT That is coming to an END!!

    Totally agree..I get Bama vs a Loeffler offense?I will play Bama @28 or less.This will be blow out city and by end of Sept the talk will begin again..Can Bama beat an NFL team?The more I think about Clemson vs Ga in Death Valley with Ga s early season Richt failures the more I like Clemson plus the Tigers are just LOADED.
