Looks like Betonline opened Bama at - 14 , it is now at -15 1/2.

Feels good to get some lines up for our wagering pleasure.

So far I like FSU - 6 1/2 and Bama at - 15 1/2.

It'll be interesting to see where they will open at in August.

We're getting closer to kickoff !!!! Almost time to start a countdown.

to - 18 1/2 .

FYI  Golden Nugget games of the year come out this Friday  6 / 7.

Per CBS Sports , Golden Nugget will open Bama at - 17
total 48 this Friday.

They also have Bama as a 6 point favorite at Texas A&M.

Bama will destroy Texas A&M...A&M will have a lot of backers from their "delusional fanbase.  they have the belief that Johnny Football is a cure all for the ailments on the Defensive side of the ball.     It won't be quite as bad as the beat down Bama put on Michigan last year, but I am expecting a 35 to 17 game with Bama on top...and that score will be closer than the actual play...

I think Bama will do a better job of defending " Johnny football"
this time.

right on wiseguy!     I look forward to your feedback on my picks this year.  I am trying to be more disciplined and limit myself to 2 picks per week.    and of course, those will be my top two ranked picks...this is hobby is not easy, but with analytics and research, one stands a chance to come out ahead...Cheers

Thanks Longhorn ,  I only play a maximum of  3 " prime picks "
each week. They are the selections I believe offer me the most
value vs the pointspread.Since I have limited the number of bets
I make each week , I've found my win percentage go up dramatically
permitting me to wager more on each game.

I think Phil may be losing it...no way Va Tech team that barely had a winning record last year is the 12th ranked team in the country...maybe that will keep the line down for the bama game, which is good for us...

I think Va tech only returns 4 starters on offense.
Va Tech last year ranked 81st nationally in scoring offense and
total offense. don't see how they are going to improve much
this year.

To add to that :
Va tech's QB Logan Thomas only completed 51 % of his passes,
and had a QBR of 115 , these stats are considered poor for a QB
for a program that highly rated. To top it off, he threw for 18 td's
while throwing 16 picks.

the more I think about Bama, the more like them in this matchup.  I think even last year's Michigan team could beat this va tech team by 2+ TD's and we all know how they did against Bama....what scares me is the publics backing of bama.  need to do more research.

Longhorn ,  I never care about public perception on any given
matchup , as I'm not competing against the public, I'm competing
against the oddsmaker. If I've performed my due diligence and
analysis of the matchup properly, the odds are in my favor to
win the wager. This requires focus and sound judgement.

It's interesting that the pointspread for the Bama / Va Tech
matchup did not move off of - 17 on the Nugget's GOY line.
Maybe we will see it open slightly lower than - 17 when it
opens in Las Vegas.
