mountain west has not been represented well thus far at 0-3 in the bowl games - keeping this analysis simple and going with the much better division in the SEC>Mountain West.  Bama should roll.

you may have a winner there.  i like it.  i'm taking ole miss as a straight bet in that game.  as for this game, i'm leaning towards the over.  i've got it projected right around 50.  i think alabama wins, but utah can keep it close.  i may tease bama to -4 and over 39.5.  GL

i think we all learned a lesson from the penn state usc game and the lsu g tech game teams liek this that arent big football programs can dominate in there confernce but when they get to the bigger games facing teams that are bigger and more psychical then them they dont stand a chance have said that i feel bama is just better in every possible way there bigger there quicker there more psychical and they have better coaching and much more depth bama and in rout by 15+

I don't like parlays either but these three look so good i'm going to take them.  I also have EC at -2.5 which i like better than the 3 and the tide at -9.5 which i like better than the 10.5.   Will also play all three seperately two out of the three should win.

In all these bowl games one thing stands out the time off before these games brings in a game plan and an attitude to either play hard or not.The size of Alabama strength of schedule and their ability to blow Utes off the line will be countered by speed but whoevers gameplan for this game works is who will come out on top My point is that capping this game like all the rest all season just does not work, the team that comes prepared to play with the right gameplan often overshadows talent in these bowls.I think the Utes will come up with a plan if Alabama does not squash them like a bug early then they find a way to cover.

Keep in mind all......
 
Bama is extremly dissapointed being in this bowl game, and not the NAT champ game.....
 
They still are "hungover" from losing the SEC championship game and losing that 1 game and garnishing their undefeated season....
 
Look at BC....they lost the ACC champ game, and they were DISGUSTED to be in the music city bowl and not in the BCS Orange bowl, and look what happened to them
 
Now Bama is facing the only undefeated team in the nation.who are excited about being in a BCS bowl game, and laying 10 points?

Utah don't lose BOWL games.  Everytime they goes to the bowl games they're always the under dog and they always win.  Guess who was their coach 2 years ago?  Urban Meyer, current Florida coach.  If I am Kyle Whittingham I'd call Urban on how to to beat the Tide.  The Utes always prepared well for big games as they are always the under dog.

Alabama and USC are the two best teams all time in bowls......each with 31 wins.......Now this Bama squad has Saban and an awesome defense and great running game with a mature QB, although not great one.  The Spead is 9.5 and 45.5 as I type.......hhhmmm........same spread and total as that Rose bowl game yesterday.......hhhmmmmm........the other team(USC) with superior defense, a great coach, and mature QB, although not a great one, rolled up the victory and surpassed the total.  Oh, and they are the other team with 31 bowl wins over all time!! 
 
The USC game yesterday should look very similar to this outcome in the Sugar tonight........Don't take a MWC conference team to cover a team that had a 10 point lead over Fla in the SEC title game in the second half and let Timmy the Great steal a shot at a National Championship from them!!!!!!  Alabama will maul Utah!!

You are incorrect, sir. Mountain West is .500 so far in bowl games this year. Here are the facts:

New Mexico Bowl: CSU defeats Fresno State 40-35.

Poinsetta Bowl: TCU beats Boise State  17-16

Armed Forces Bowl: Air Forces loses to Houston 34-28.

Las Vegas Bowl: BYU loses to Nevada  31-21.

Utah will be pumped up and playing for pride and the win to keep their perfect season intact. The Mountain West Conference is out for respect so watch for the Utes to cover.

USC was also upset they weren't in the Championship Game as well???? If you are making picks based on that logic you will lose big. It is the most over used excuse that NEVER pans out...

USC lose came months ago.....unlike Bama who lost the last week of the season in the championship game....and no that is not my "only logic"

Maybe if the BC backers considered that, the wdnt be down that unit now would they.....

 

look....Bama can come out and rout....sure they can....but if they dont and UTAH plays em close and act "eeks" out a win,  would not be surprised

 

I can pretty much GURANTEE you were probably on OKL in the Fiesta bowl of 2007 (if you were gamb back then)

waited on this one to make sure Bama's head was in the game.  Losing Smith got everyone's attention and they will be pumped.  Huge home field advantage for Bama here.  Bama BIG.....REAL BIG.  Over at the end of the first quarter.

Line opened at -11.  About 66% consensus on Bama and now the line is at -9.
 
I'm leaning on Bama but I'm always sketchy when that reverse line movement happens.
