The Utes have become the public play according to covers What a bunch of smack they try to suck more dollars with offers of elitest membership. Nonsense. Go agains't the public play Alabama and lay 10. I say BLOW ME

drop25, the only thing different is all those spreads were less than a TD. There was a line drop in the Rose Bowl as well and majority on USC and you saw what happened their. If you got it at 10 or higher UTAH might be the play but I am leaning BAMA.

I think Irisheyez is right on the money.

I'm really tempted to believe that 'Bama has recruited the better athletes across the board and I think we're learning from these bowl games that recruiting and the prestige of the program is everything in college football.  Any kid who wants to play college football and has an opportunity to go to an SEC school is going directly to the South.

The injury hurts but that 'Bama offensive line is massive and dominant to begin with and I'm sure Coach Saban can find someone in the depth of that squad to plug in and get the job done.

In fact, John Parker Wilson might not even have to put in the air more than 15 times in this game.

Yes Boise pulled off an unbelievable upset a couple of years ago, but so far that's proven to be a huge anomaly, and while you have to love the spirit of the Utah program and what they've done this season, you can't even begin to compare the Mountain West Conference to the SEC and the relative schedules these teams have played.

And don't forget that Alabama was very, very close to playing in the National Championship game, with it's only loss to Florida for God's sake.

As far as motivation goes, you think these kids don't want to win this football game, you're out of your mind.  They're college kids, not professionals.  If anything, they'll be even more jacked to get out there and, and this is going to be like a home game for Alabama.

The Tide is definitely going to Roll in this game.

true, but at the end of the rose bowl Penn state had two opportunities to cover and threw two ints one in the end zone.  which makes me think the call was right it just didnt end up that way.  i know it is crazy picking against the SEC here but with the plays that have been wininng with this philosophy it says go Utah.  still uncertain

I like Alabama pretty strong.  SOS.  Qualtiy wins:  Clemson, Georgia, Mississippi, LSU and played Florida close.  Will want to make a statement.  On the other side EC has not had the same tough schedule and only had one quality win against Oregon State.  Play for me is Alabama and the second Over that I have played in the Bowl games (first one was a loss - last night Cincy game)

Utah is the tailgun play shoot and hope but I like the 10 points and I'm hoping the layoff slowed those big ol boys down some and the constant disin of the Utes may make them come out with abandon.
 I know that down here in the southeast most $100 players are on Alabama regardless of the points it's a matter of good ol boy honor.

Leaning on the over in this one. IMO these defenses should be able to create some turnovers to put their offense in good field position.

Tide will roll in this one... Best of the SEC destroy other teams (see score of Tech vs. Ole Miss just finished),  plus Utah has extreme amount of pressure on them trying to stay perfect on the season.  Too much size and speed here all over field for Utah to compete.  Skill guys might be equally good and Brian Johnson is excellent quarterback but the Bama defense will be in his face all night.  Saban will have his boys ready for this business trip.

I use a semi-local book with a website here is what I got... the line move says go Utah but I dont know.  I really havent seen enough of Utah to say they are big enough or fast enough up front on the lines.  if their wideouts are great/equal to bama or even RB it wont matter if the line cant hold up and bama is all over them on both sides of the ball, which so far is how the SEC has been.

I'm not big on Utah, at all. When you take a look at their best win, over TCU, they were outgained by more than 200 yards. And as much as Smith is a loss, he doesn't effect the play of Alabama's D, which should dominate. Don't over think this. While a close game is possible, it isn't likely.

Large play on Bama.
