God with all that injuries and illness on both sides of the ball not even sure if I want to touch this one too many tangibles.

UNDER   neither team has a potent offense. Both teams have a pretty solid defense

keep in mind the MVP for this game might be Durant Brooks, the punter for GT.

Definitely taking Ga. Tech in this one.  82% of the public is on Va. Tech getting 2.5 (it started at 90%/10%) and Va. Tech will probably stay favored by the public by a high percentag and I don't think the line will move down much like it did in the USF/Rutgers game to get action on USF.  Here are a few reasons why I like Ga. Tech (for those of you who think I bet using only public money): 

-Ga. Tech has averaged 457.3 yds/game last 3 whereas Va. Tech has averaged 309/game last 3.  In conference games Ga. Tech averages 347 yds/game and Va. Tech averages 292/game in conference.  Ga. Tech controls the ball an average of 5 minutes/game more than their opponent at home, Va. Tech virtualy the opposite on road (Ga. Tech O at home T.O.P=32:06, D at home T.O.P=27:54/Va. Tech O on road T.O.P.=27:13, D on road T.O.P=32:47). 

-I would be careful in taking Ga. Tech at the half, they start out slow averaging 7.7 pts in first half (6.8 vs. conference).  Their opponents averaging 12.7 in first half last three (conference opps. are avging.13.2 against).  Va. Tech averaging. 24 pts in first half last three allowing only 5 in first half last three (conf. opps. avging. 4.5 against).  Although Ga. Tech's D only allowing 6.7 pts in first half at home with the O averaging 16.  Va. Tech. Still like Va. Tech first 1/2.  I like Va. Tech up by a field goal at 1/2.

-Ga. Tech averaging 31.5 at home/Va. Tech 30.3 on the road.  At home though, Ga. Tech's defense allowing only 12.7 at home.  I am going against most everyone here and am going to take the Over.  This game ALWAYS goes over.   3 of 3 since '92 have been over, 2 of 2 in last 3 seasons have gone over.  At Ga. Tech 1 of 1 has gone over.  I think it isn't in the thirties for a reason, not sure why, but both teams will probably put up some points.  Ga. Tech 0-3 O-U at home/ Va. Tech 3-0 O-U on road. I think the over hits in final minutes to give Ga. Tech the cover and hit the over.

 Will write more later but that's what I like as of right now.

I'm very new to this, I will say...based on the numbers...Ga Tech will cover! Ga Tech has # 58 off against a #16 def...and Va has a #114 off vs. #7 def.... I'm I wrong in this ???

You are so wrong, if Def and Off Ranks really matters in wagering no one would ever lose. So yes, You are WRONG, if you are picking because of it.

Spoke with someof the VT coach staff and players, really has chip on shoulder and was just short of guarantee a victory...... spoke with GT coach staff and a few players and thay r feeling good but not as confident in their offense now that their running game has been completely depleted. with no run game they will change their gameplan to pass alil more wich means either more points for GT than usual or more points (interceptions) for a decent and very atheletic VT defense.
 
my "opinion" : VT... because of the confidence the defense gained in their loss to BC

FYI:
GT has rushed the ball 322 for 1763 yds (not including QB runs) of that Choice and Grant is responsible for 206 and 1,095.. Gt has only passed the ball for only 1236 yds and 2tds... 60% of their off. is their run game, now that 75% of their run game is not playing now what????

not having a run game is huge in betting college football. The play here is the under! Both defenses are on top of there game, and both offenses have hit a seasons worst! good luck to all.

T'mobie is moving better now. I expect he physically can now start, but do you want a rookie vs. the blitzy totally nuts Gah.Tech defense that Jon Tenuta runs? Or do you want the more defensively advanced reader Qb, who is basically planted like a tree? Tough call indeed.

nobody has mentioned the fact that gtech star running back is out!! the concensus on this blog is going with gtech and both teams seem pretty even, so i like the points with vtech

dbubble how is not having a running game better for the under, on the contrary, less time is wasted and more risk for either interception tds, or pass tds,. the 40.5o/u is scary though vegas is right on on this game

id be more worried if the o-line had key injuries than the rb's, someone will step up in this defensive battle. 
i took gt because theyre at home and vt's offense is pitiful.  they can be confident all they want but the fact is they played poorly at the end of a huge game and that will stick in their heads if they get down.

Both teams are offensively challenged.....GT (5-2 & 2-3 ACC)scoring 8 offensive td's in 5 (five) ACC games.
 
VT (6-2 & 3-1 ACC) scoring 10 td's in 4 ACC games (five against Duke).
 
Hokies are number one in ACC in scoring defense @ 15.2 ppg.
 
Jackets number 3 @ 19.4 ppg.
 
VT has scored 40 special teams td's and 72 defensive td's under Frank Beamer since 1987.
 
This year....the Hokies have returned 3 interceptions, 2 punts and a kickoff for scores.
 
GT has returned one fumble for a td.
 
The Hokies lead the ACC with 29 sacks.
 
Senior right guard Nate McManus (GT) has been lost for the season.  He had started 32 consecutive games and will be missed.
 
GT was already a one-dimensional team (running game) only two passing tds, and with their top two RBs out, and an Olineman out who has started 32 consecutive games, just how do they score on a Bud Foster defense, especially designed for them, who will be teeing off on them, just like they will be teeing off on VT?
 
Whichever QB recognizes and takes best advantage of the open seams and spots vacated by all those blitzers, should do well, and perhaps slow down that blitzing a bit, as there shouldn't be many points scored in this game, and 7 points should be considered precious. I don't know about the GT QB, but Glennon has shown a pretty good ability to read, recognize and pick-up on that kind of thing.
 
Can he take advantage of it?  I'm not sure -- but I am sure a big part of the game plan will be centered around those key factors, knowing GT will start blitzing as soon as they hit the field from nearly every angle and direction.
 
"T-Mobile" (TyrodTaylor) should be able to take advantage of this also with some called QB draws, and especially designed run plays for him to make good use of against that famous blitzkreig.
 
It should make for an interesting game.... a one-dimensional offense without their best dimensions, and the heretofore mediocre offense of the Hokies. The defense of one or the other should decide this game, along with special teams.
 
VT has it's starting center out, as well as it's top LB, Vince Hall....who didn't play against BC either.

ur a vt guy and i'm a gt guy... i think we both know our teams enough to say that 4 tds + a lot of field goals or 5 tds + a few fgs or 6 tds is a lot to ask with these d's against these o's.

 great info great thread.  I see all of the children must be out trick or treating while us adult druids post threads and win  to pay for all of the candy, I guess they have all been banned by now. 
                Anyway, I have put all of this info into my "must win or sleep on couch computer" and came up with GT and the under 1 unit parlay then 3units on the under. GLTA

Very interesting matchup here... and notice the line has not moved one bit, at least where I play.

The one thing I think can make the difference here, is the 2 replacement RBs for GT are both FRESHmen.  Freshmen fumble, especially against a D that is focused and prepared to take the turkey away.  I have yet to pull the trigger on this but am leaning heavy on VT and the under.
