Not real sure myself on this game blackjack. I lean (just a tad) on VT because they're the type of football team that can win on the road ("can" run and play good defense). We know they're pissed after last week, but will the BC loss motivate or sting VT? I think the defense is upset, and they feel responsible so they make amends.
 
'Ore' played well last week against the #1 rated rush defense, but can he repeat?
 
GT is a decent football team, and they can win this game. However, I think VT plays good "on-the-road style" football this week as 'Ore' keeps the chains moving periodically and the defense keeps it close.
 
Hope to see VT+3 to feel safer, but I think they cover....

Both teams are pretty equal on the defensive side. On the other side, GT has the better offense. If both defenses come to play, I wouldn't trust VT's offense to put up points. They have issues in a few areas.
 
Neither team is much on passing, as they're both equally ugly. So it could come down to the running game, where GT is 14th in the country, averaging 100 yards more than VT!  The Jackets should have an easier time keeping the Hokies D on the field, rather than vice versa.
 
No way will I back that Hokies offense, especially a big game on the road. Hopefully more people jump on the Hokies for an even better line.
 
 
uh - go gatech?  yeah i think so biatches - finally something i have to go on - i am backing gtech for the simple reason that vatech fans on here are morons..... give me more fodder .....really...please

Just hit the Mavericks for 4 units. Thankfully, I also layed off the Sixers, who just missed. I like VT in this one.I will buy it to 3, or 3.5 maybe. GT without both RBs, and a staple of their O-line. VT will be attacking.Not to say the VT offense is anything more than mediocre, but you gotta like them getting the points.  They had control of the BC game, and lost it in a hurry. However, with only one conference loss, they are very much in the hunt for the conference title. This is a must win game on national TV. GT is 2-3 in conference, and with the injuries to key players, I don't know if they got enough fight in them.Maybe the crowd keeps it close early, but VT defense takes over in the end. Only other game VT lost was week 2 at LSU. Takin VT for 2 units.

When you combine VaTech's defense with an incomplete GaTech defense... I don't see Tech scoring many points. I'll stay away from the spread here, as I don't think VaTech will score many either. Under is definitely the only bet I'll be making here.
 
Score = 14-9... either way.

hey zen, you are probably one of those guys that talks s%$#t after the games are all said and done and say how you went the other way that people on here were going.  Way to go buddy.  Why don't you post your opinion of the game so that you can prove to us why you are such a smart ass.  2-17?  I went 10-11 two weekends ago in college football and 9-12 last weekend, not to mention Green Bay ML +140 Monday Night.  I don't bet every game I post, just give my input so don't base what I post on here to how well I actually do.  Most of the posts I write about I bet on, some I don't though because things change leading up to a game.  Your dumbass comments don't help people win money in these threads pal.  It doesn't matter anyways to waste my time with a moron like you that likes to act like some professional vegas capper and laugh when he thinks he is right about games after the fact so if people are smart they will just ignore your idiotic comments from now on....and YOU should quit posting.

After giving this game further thoughts and learning that G tech will be without 2 of their Running backs, I change my bet to Under 40.5. Small play on VTech at the half cuz G tech has a habbit of starting out slow.. Gl guys

V-Tech normally plays well on Thursday nights but it's totally opposite for Georgia Tech who has a 4-8 ats record on Thursday night games.

Bad thing is that V-Tech is 1-10 ats the following game after they played Boston College.

V-Tech has a 10-2 ats record as road dogs over the last 3 seasons.

The seventh ranked Georgia Tech defense is very tough and very aggressive and would give any OC sleepless nights just thinking about facing that defense. IMO the weakness in Georgia Tech defense is playing against a smart and good throwing QB. In this case against V-Tech that should not be a problem for the Georgia Tech defense.

V-Tech is in the midst of trying to win a Coastal Division crown and return revenge on Georgia Tech. V-Tech was stung by the Yellow Jackets at home last season 38-27, coming back to make the score respectable. The V-Tech defense has been improving all season and is now third in the conference at 304 yards per game allowed. They will try to make life miserable for inconsistent Taylor Bennett and will have less to fear in the running game without Tashard Choice who is not expected to suit up for this game with a knee injury.  Coach Frank Beamer teams are 13-5 ATS in road games after allowing 100 or less rushing yards in two straight contests.

With all that said I basically broke down the numbers and came out with Georgia Tech winning by 2 points.

Too close for me to pull the trigger and too many key injuries that can throw my numbers really off.

I'm staying away from this one and looking at the 3 games on Friday instead. Looking to take Nevada in one of them.

Great info folks.  I think there are too many intangibles to this game to pick accurately.  With the two running backs from GaTech out, I'd question whether their offense can put it together so quickly.

I think both defenses will be able to step up, and I'd take the under, but I hate totals.

Oh, and yes it is perfectly okay to pass on this game.  A lot of bettors want action all the time but if you are on the fence, it is okay - there's a lot more games out there.

Phancard, first of all thanks for the positive words, unlike some people on here.  Second, here are a few college football picks, hopefully they prove to be effective for everyone else also:
(52%)Ohio...-7.5, Temple 6-1 ATS an dog, but they lost their starting QB last week and Ohio is an excellent home team, Ohio by 10 pts.
(26%)Akron...+7, Bowling Green 0-7 ATS at home.  Bowling Green, bad defense especially at home allowing 31.3 pts/game at home.
 
UF...-14.5 (and 1 H)  UF's been struggling losing 2 in a row.  They play well this game for a chance at an SEC title.  UF averaging 46 pts/game at home, Vandy averaging 12 pts/game on the road.
 
Will post more games later.
