Don't know but will tell you from personal experience if that don't eat enough salt..... will cramp in the summer. In fact, the body will crave pickle juice and will drink half a jar of it.
It's an electrolyte and need it.
But on the flip side....... it's hygroscopic (absorbs shit) which I cannot imagine being good for the body.
Either way, it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to eat less than the recommended 2400 milligrams a day. I tracked my food for a month on an online calculator and am a pretty good eater. It's IMPOSSIBLE.

Like Depeche said........ it's like everything else.... "moderation"
But if listen to the 2400 milligram guidelines...... will be IMPOSSIBLE to hit that. Even if you make your own food. If you leave the house and eat...... LESS THAN ZERO CHANCE.

1 Spicy Chicken Wing from Church's Chicken = 1040 milligrams of sodium
2 ounces of deli ham = 2400 milligrams of sodium
Done for the day on Sodium and that was just a snack.

McDonalds Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese both > 1000 milligrams
Surprisingly, a medium french fry is only 200 milligrams.
The tableside salt doesn't add up as fast as the internal ingredient salt.

Okay found 2 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans from Baja Fresh Grill. I bet this is about half the size and content of a normal Mexican restaurant and doesn't include the chips and salsa.
Coming in at................ 2,340 milligrams

Basically can't leave the house if concerned about sodium. And if open a can you are probably even more screwed.
One cup of Hormal Turkey Chili in a can = 1,200 milligrams.
