i could do this in a year of training but i have to get on a stair climber machine and be able set it to 5 and tread for 30 hours taking a short break every two hours before ei even looked at the bike.
the bike would have to be a great machine
with a 4 gear football on the front and 7 caliper disk on the back.
i have to stop drinking quit all smoking any other form of recreation. and i indulge in and just get it into my head that that was it that was what i am gonna do and train.
on the road it would be a do this or die trying attitude.
this man i dont believe could ever get his head together enough but it should be interesting.

Actually Armstrong is a ridgeling. And the doping doesn't make one a better rider. It's the superior training a person can do because of the peds. So without prior work, and a lot of it, it would still take a very talented amateur or better to get this dont.

No way this guy completes it in 48 hours, I don't care if you're the greatest cyclist in the history of cycling....
Any of the Tour de France cyclists could do this without breaking a sweat. They do about 125 miles in 5.5 hours, and that is with serious mountain climbs. They do have a pack of riders for wind resistance, but nothing in this bet says he can't have it for this ride.
The distance record for 24 hours is 556 miles, but that is on a flat course.

yea the NY Post is doing full coverage of this it looks like until the bet/race is actually concluded.
I still say these guys need to get a few GoPros and some mobile wifi connection and livestream this - start letting people buy grids of the route where he will crap out. hugely entertaining and probably net them much more than the actual bet on page views and sponsorships alone.
