25 % of police officers are forced to re-qualify yearly.In order to use a firearm in real life situation takes more than a few hours target shooting on the range.Some people may know how to shoot but when forced into a high pressure situation there judgement become comprised it is the simple truth.
If you really want to be able to defend yourself with a weapon of any kind practice with it, practice drawing,aiming and learn to move and shot from various positions and angles it's the only way to stay current with any weapon.Even after hours a training and practice be aware that its your judgement that fires the weapon not your finger.

Other variations are possible too because cities may be different. In general, United States has high gun ownership and high crime rates.
