Liberal media would rather nitpick everything bad on The Donald.

We won't hear about any weekend murders but you can count on knowing when Trump's next bowel movement will occur.

Yeah Slobbasaurus. I really want to get out of here but I have a real good job and a real nice place. So I'm stuck. I live in one of the better parts of the city but even this area can't escape all the bullsheet. It's real sad. That's why I play lotto. I won't ever hit it but if I do I'd get the hell out of here the next day. This place is a ticking time bomb.

Not sure if the series win will help in theory the ultimate under dog wins will give hope and pride to the south side but at this point . the area could be so far gone that even the world series win won't stop the slaughter. The other hand dark web running man game is selling a few t shirts as I am told.

If this keeps up, will there be anybody left in d-town Chicago to celebrate the Cubs winnin' the Series.

On the bright side, rioting should be down, because most of the 'hooligans will be dead.

Nah Rush, the parade, if any God willing, will happen during the day. They will be sleeping after another hard night of crime ridden drama.

Jeff, I feel for you man. I work in downtown Newark and I'm always on edge going to and from work. I lock my doors driving to and from the office. Car-jacking is huge here, especially on the outskirts where the cops are scarce.

What you guys up top have to deal with in those areas is absolute horse chit. I'm pretty sure guns are illegal to own in Chicago - F that, put one of these in your car. Instant kill and legal to order online.

lets see if the 2 a day body count drops from now to Christmas. approximately 600 souls lost there lives in around 300 days about 60 days till new year

and yet 50,000 americans od off drugs every year, mostly in red states and no talk or chatter... yep. thats the educated america we have been accustomed too.

"mostly in red states".... what? What kind of talk or chatter are you looking for? Your government makes sure all these people o.d. every year by allowing a wide-open border... Could you imagine how the big machine that depends on drug addicts would grind to a halt if they cut off the drugs? Legal, penile, drug rehabs, lawyers, court personnel, medical, psychological...

To tell you the truth, I really don't care much either that major U.S. cities are turning into killing zones, it's not going to affect me, so let them kill each other.

The Shooting Range that has become Chicago, will continue to do so, until Police Officers no longer feel threatened . Yes, they should be able to stop suspicious individuals, but this has all been stopped (right O'bama ??).

Just go re-read what the previous poster has put in bold. Says all you need to know.

The numbers haven't been this bad since the '90s. And this just indicated in today's WSJ. Yes, ShT is bad in Chicago.

You wanna know what's worse ? It's out of control more now than then. They say most of the murderers are not being apprehended as they were in the 90s.

So, the murderers continue their killing, w/o the fear of being of being apprehended . (This also in today's WSJ).

Folks need to wake up to the erroneous hands-off police policies that have been handed down from above (thank you, O'bama).

The murderers need to know they are not in control.

I've lived in the city now for about 12 years; I remember when I finally got out of school and landed a good paying job I moved to a nicer part of town thinking "well my chances of getting murdered/mugged should be basically nil now" - no kidding, 3rd night in my new place about 6 years back there was a murder on the corner (street shooting.) Point is that there really isn't any dodging this stuff per se; being smart and staying in certain parts of the city aren't guarantees for avoiding issues.

I agree with accountability, but def feel sorry for the CPD here who has to deal with what they deal with and not having the room to maneuver and make a difference - I know a few cops and most of these men and women do want to serve and make a difference, but just aren't willing given the political environment,

A little off topic, but I saw the 30 for 30 "Benji" over the weekend about Ben Wilson. Great documentary and I'm not a big basketball fan so I really didn't know about this kid's story.

It may have taken place back in the early 80s, but it seems like Chi-town was just as dangerous back then if not more. I think they said the murder rate was up to 600 in November of 83.

What are you guys currently clocking at? From what I'm hearing, Newark is a safer place to live. Who would have thought? Hahaha

I read this a couple of weeks ago and have been interested ever since.

I researched the history of gangs and drug problems in Chicago. I also have listened in on the police scanner in a few of the worse neighborhoods there. I could not believe how crazy it is. The police don't even get too excited about shooting calls or even chasing an individual with a gun. It's all too common. Just wow.

What an eye opener.

Most recent shootings are walk ups or drive up to another vehicle and let er rip.

I was reading an article in the WSJ journal a couple of weeks ago that the City was selling residential plots for $1 apiece in Englewood but the new land owner would have to pay taxes and maintain it.

I guess Chicago is trying to accelerate gentrification in one of its worst neighborhoods. I still think $1 is too expensive.

If that is true it must be concealed in layers of hud paper work for any gang would buy it all 100 soldiers each has a dollar could own 100 lots....

well i like to see this work. I proposed in another thread if the citizens that lived in a neighborhood owned the property they were living in it would promote pride, self alliance, peace and prosperity . I hope this can reverse the carnage and could be copied in all inner cities.

industry wont relocate to a war zone but nice areas attract many business and employment opportunities too bad the Chicago Tribune couldn't pick up that story over the ap wire and run it.
