NBC postponed its telecast to tonight at 8 pm. 

MSNBC is supposed to have a town hall format discussing this exact issue for an hour.

when u have police brutality settlements w the citizens of chicago for well over 500,000,000 since 2004 the money goes to the bustas.

crimes goes up. people want a piece of the pie and it goes insane and out of control.

chicago is all gang'd up by now. im sure it was one of the first organized crime cities in america.

too bad no one on covers understands how crime works.

This past February was worse than last year's, and we're on record pace for the whole year again!!! I thought Trump said he was going to send in the National Guard or something? Forget spending more on defense or building a wall, let's start with Chicago and go from there.....

In all seriousness, I feel bad for Chicago law-abiding citizens like Jeff.  Sh!t looks crazy out there.

Let see they took away citizens rights to defend their homes with weapons, left them victims to future violence removed their community public schools destroyed any business friendly practices,
with a sear and robuch catoalog of paper work to even start a buisness in the south side.

removed gainful employment under NAFTA, would rather spend 115 million on a new stadium then to fund programs of around 10 million to help citizens.

all under Democratic leadership. maybe south side can wake up and realize they never had a friend in that dixie crat party system.

take note: Chicago hasn't had a Republican Mayor since 'Big' Bill Thompson was put there by Al Capone in 1931

Full text of Article IV, Section 4: 
"The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence."

This protection is for the people. The U. S. Supreme Court so held in Texas v. White (1868), saying it's the people who are guaranteed this protection.

*Not sure but I believe this gives the president the authority to move in the feds.* National guard to full military occupation .

if legislature can not convene I believe could be argued against the gridlock in washington the decaying situation and Executive Branch would have the right to intervene if A citizen of chicago. made the application to invoke power of article 4 sec 4 4 a better future.

There are non-military solutions that may help.  More money for skills training and jobs for young people since they commit most of the violent crimes.  Strengthen gun laws and enforcement since most violence involve guns and guns are easy for criminals to obtain.   Legalize soft drugs and treat addicts to take profits away from criminals and reduce fighting among rival gangs.  Improve community relations so that more people help police solve crimes.

Yeah, that, or how about if you're already unemployed, addicted to something crazy like crack, and living off of what the government sends you, you stop sh!itting out the b@stards that eventually grow up and become a drain on society and perpetuate this vicious cycle.....

We're waaaaay beyond "improving community relations" at this point. What do you do when your computer freezes and crashes? Shut it down, take out the battery, unplug it, and reboot the system. Chicago needs a "reboot". Thought Trump might actually do something, but so far.....

Anyone else find it extremely ironic that Obama's first public "non-presidential" speech is held in the worst city in America, his adopted "hometown" BTW, that his "administration" basically turned to S#!t, and he's still with the "Hope & Change"?
