damn, that one is fucked up.  starving an infant.  the pro life people are going to be all over the news protesting this one, in the name of pro life of course, any minute now.

That abortion is WAY beyond 20 weeks. If that's God's will then the folks in Texas really need to reconsider their religious beliefs and what bills they pass down there.

That's not Christianity and you damn well know it.

 That's a twisted, warped cult of 20 inbred idiots who somehow decided to use(or more accurately, misuse)  God as their reason to stick society in the behind and justify their sociopathy. 

Most people use idolatry as their false source of power, and unfortunately the true God often gets the blame. 99.9% of Christians do not identify with these types and it's ignorant on your part to believe they do.

The problem is that it's not just those "20 inbreds". A lot of religious sects take actions similar to what these people did. They rely on God instead of modern medicine or modern amenities (covering a wide variety of issues) to solve their problems. Then when it doesn't work out for them it becomes "God's Will". 

I think it's funny that you bring up "the true God gets all the blame". Quite honestly, if you believe in God, he doesn't get enough of the blame for all of the world's issues. If he is truly all knowing, omnipotent, all powerful, then why are there such terrible atrocities in the world? Doesn't seem like a very loving, caring God that religion gives him credit for being. 

I find that religion loves to credit God for all the good that happens in the world, yet always has excuses as to why it isn't his fault when bad things happen.

Here's a good example...............when Bubba Watson won the Masters last year, he burst into tears while thanking his Lord & Savior JC..........this year, after blowing a lead by hitting a couple bad shots, he burst into a tirade & blamed his caddie.

this thread is not about atheism and you appear to be completely lost in discussions about religion with out being dependent on bringing up atheists to create a strawman to argue against...

But condemning people to hell because they don't agree with your beliefs, while harming no one in the process, is completely ok and representative of a loving, caring God? Sounds hypocritical to me.

however, he makes a good point.  there are placed in this world where people are starving because the climate is too dry to grow food much of the years.  send in the person.  problem solved.

I know this has nothing to do religion but you brought Tenn up...

I heard on a radio show this morning that State of Tenn has the highest rate in violent crimes committed. kind of surprised there, thought might be somewhere like Lou.

that's not completely unrelated to religion as i imagine tennessee is one of our more religious states.  however, sometimes those crime stats are not very accurate.  they rely on local officials like sheriffs providing accurate crime data and sheriff's, mayors, etc have an incentive to minimize their crimes numbers. 


as to rostos post, we should never discourage rostos from engaging in one of the sciences.
