OK one thing i learned long ago is the Human Mind cannot comprehend something it has never seen or heard from !
Can you fathom that there is no end to outerspace ?
Think about in your mind traveling forever with no end millions of miles and the only end comes hwen you die !

Ok, I haven't posted to this thread in what, months? So, I go to my space and find the last post I made was from this thread? No way. Que the Star Trek theme. So by faith, I click to see what I was supposed to have posted, and as you all know I haven't posted in a long time. What is covers up to? Someone playing games with my space? So, I check out what you are all up to, and read from last page back a few. I do see you are still trying to argue the existence (or not) of God, which is futile. Lots of questions, some answers, all way too complicated. They serve the speaker, and not the listener. The more I discuss God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit with people, the more I am convinced it is not what I say, but how I say it, that opens ears and hearts. And when I speak, I am like a banging gong. But when I let the Holy Spirit speak through me, hearts are changed, and the truth is revealed.
Jesus said, let the children come unto me, because it is they who will see God. Unless your heart (and mind) is like the faith of a child, you will never see or know God in this lifetime or the next. How do I know, and not just believe this? That's a long story, but a simple ending. After a long intellectual journey, I simply decided one day, one moment to do it His way. Without arguing with Him anymore, without all the talk, chatter, and fighting it, I accepted Jesus, totally, like a little child, and asked Him to fight Satan for me. I was forgiven for everything I ever did, was loved more than I could reason, was gifted a peace that surpassed all my understanding, was certain of my existence and it's' meaning and knew the definition would come in His time to me, and just as certain that this life is a gift from God, and that there is a next life with Him if I place all my trust and faith in Him. That is why Jesus came, so I (and you) could have all that. Yes, I heard and felt the wind, the Holy Spirit fill me, and the tongue of fire enter me. I had all the knowledge necessary, and the belief that Jesus existed. But until I placed all my faith in Him, I did not have the experience or the Relationship.
No one could talk me into having this Relationship. I know I can never talk anyone else into it either. No group of knowledge, no instruction could convince me. And now that I see it all in hind sight. All that is as it should be. God hides his truths from the proud, the intellectual, the wealthy, the powerful. If that is what you seek and what you have, then you have your reward. Blessed are those who seek God, and give up all that, and find Him. God is spirit, and them that seek the things of the spirit: love, forgiveness, peace, will find Him.
I wish everyone of you could have the knowing I know. You can, but, like me, you have to decide to seek, find, and receive it. What makes a man come to that point in his life (or woman)? Each of us is unique, with our own trials, addictions, passions, goals, dreams, etc. So much variety, but God is simple. We will never understand Him, but we can become his child, and He our Father.
You can argue it till the cows come home. And I won't do that with any of you. But to kindly say, God is, Jesus rose again, and the Holy Spirit is alive and well and living in many. Pick up that bible, and read the New Testament letters for yourself, truly seeking, hoping, placing your faith in the words of those that came before you, and how they experienced their Relationship with God. And when you have come to the place not just in your mind, but in your heart to have saving faith, and do? Well, you will be amazed, it is a miracle, you will know God personally and forever. Now really. What is more important than that? Nothing is more important than that.

Yesterday-I didn't want to post on here anymore but after reading that all I can say is God bless you brother and amen. You have put into words the Truth as it is. I have faith that your post has touched someone to turn away from atheism.

smoothd20, ... He told us, after we have received the gift of the Holy Spirit, He will enable us to share that gift. It is truly a gift, because I did not earn it, learn it, and certainly didn't deserve it, so that others can come to know Him too. I can honestly say with all of my being that I hope everyone can come to know Him personally, as I did (and do). All they have to do is be real, be honest, let Him be God, do it His way, trust His son Jesus, holding nothing back, give it all, and you WILL receive the Holy Spirit, and eternal life with Him in heaven. But you have to want it, you have to desire it. God really does know the desires of our hearts. But that statement works both ways. He knows who we are.
I had THE experience. That totally trumps a knowledge or belief. It is now certain, for me, and not something that can be argued. But that doesn't make it real for anyone else. All I can do is share it, and hope that somehow the words I share meet someone's needs right where they are at in their search for God. In fact, I think everyone wants to believe God exists, they just need proof. But, in fact, just the opposite is true. It is when we don't need proof, and just believe, which is our first step of truth faith in Him, that he reveals Himself to us as our Father. Maybe now is not their time. But maybe these words can bring them one step closer to it.
