Yes we have had a bit of a hit here. Not saying it is all peachy keen. However when I buy my townhome for 549,000 last summer and have it appraised at 600,000 already this year I think we aren't feeling your effects quite yet. 911 was the linchpin, the "New Pearl Harbor" (as suggested by Project for a New American Century, by Zbigniew Brzezinski) that was the KEY trigger for the endless wars of aggression by America in the Middle East that continues to this day.
And it is those wars that are a huge part of the massive drain on the American economy, which indeed, is collapsing as we know it.
