Who cares if he says he is a Christian. Did Jesus TEACH to kill?

These non believers trying to blame Christianity on this mass suicide are really clutching at straws.

The biggest mass murderers in the history of humanity are Atheists.

Stalin and Po Pot.

Stalin the atheist killed approximately 20 million people. That is like Stalin killing every person here in Australia......

Pot the atheist killed between 1.7 to 2.5 mill people.

And atheists on here are laughing at religion cause one guy killed 85 odd people and it is due to Christianity which strictly says not to murder....

you obviously have not studied history.  people go to church for assistance in there life.  they are miserable want others to feel what they all feel. its a congregation of a bunch of depressed freaks who need to know the conforting of other peoples suffering.

Good conversation, getting off topic, but good none the less.
My two cents;

First of all, it is a mistake to lump christians and christian fundamentalists into the same pot.  They are a completely different breed.  That being said, America has more hard core fundamentalists than any country I have visited (which includes europe, asia, central america, all of north america).  These fundamentalists are literally brainwashed.  These are the flag waving, herd mentality, uneducated masses that have no meaning in their lives other than serving a God that may very well have been fabricated 2000 years ago.   I'm not saying they are right or wrong, but to not question your blind faith is naive.

From my perspective, I have no problem with religious people.  It gives you a meaning to live.  It gives you a sense of morals.  It allows you to have something to blame and thank for things that happen.  To pretend that yours is the only God, and that only your religion is correct is FUCKING STUPID.  These are the "religious" people that I have issues with.

One last thought;
Why are people with good educations MUCH less likely to believe in any form of religion?

Btw...can anyone disprove this theory: Satan wrote some bullshit book and convinced us it was the word of God so that we would spend the rest of eternity ignorant and divided.

Except the difference is, while the perception of the blacks was racist and inherently wrong, there's actually credence to this theory. The belief in god is completely irrational and no intelligent human being is capable of believing in god.

I would MUCH rather believe in God than believe something can pop into existence by nothing, for nothing in this natural world.

Not believing in a god does not mean that a person believes that something can "pop into existence by nothing, for nothing in this natural world"  try again...

And this Kitty Katz says that belief in God is inferior to non believers? LOLOLOL. Until you read what i just wrote, i dont think he / she knows how ridicolous they sound.

Hey Kitty,

Can you explain how everything in the universe was created? I find it easier to believe a supreme being created everything than to believe it's all a coincidence.

Please explain how wind & gravity were created for starters. Then you can go on to individuality. Every living thing is different, from leaves to humans to blades of grass, never 2 identical living things - EVER!.

The earth is 93M miles from the sun, 5% closer or 1% farther away, we can't exist.

Killer B - It is all simple probability (simple being a loose term here because nothing is simple). What are the odds of Earth being perfectly located to support life the way it is? EXTREMELY LOW...right? Well...there are over 200 billion galaxies and in each galaxy there are billions of stars with trillions of planets. Now, let's ask the question again: What are the odds that one of those planets, just one, will be just perfect to support life? The answer is as close as you can get to 100% without it actually being 100%. So arguing that everything is so perfect it must be a supreme being is a fallacious argument.

Now-how was the universe created. The Big Bang. That we know.

What caused the big bang? Well-there are many theories as to what caused it. I don't wanna go into them, but the bottom line is this: we aren't sure. People have ideas. The smartest minds in the word posit about multiverses and more than 4 dimensions, but there is no answer. It is entirely possible that the universe simply always existed-much like the theist would say God always existed...the concept is exactly the same.

Please don't let Rostos be your voice of reason because he refuses to listen to anyone else and makes his own arguments. He keeps saying I believe something comes from nothing. That is absolutely not true. I believe that it is possible that the universe always existed and it is possible something caused the big bang. I believe there are theories we have yet to come up with. I believe that we may never know the answer. However, one thing I know. It is theoretically possible to discover an answer as to what caused the big bang. It is theoretically impossible to prove the existence of God. I simply won't accept the argument that some magical creature "abra kadabra'd" the universe into existence just because it's an easy way to close the gaps in our knowledge as humans. Just because something is irreducibly complex and beyond our understanding doesn't mean it had to be designed.

And like I said before: We have absolutely no way of being certain that Satan didn't write a book and claim it was the word of God so we would spend all of eternity ignorant and divided. No human being on the planet is able to say with certainty that that isn't true.

You can certainly choose to believe in god, but you must understand the logical conclusion based on everything we experience in life is to reject the notion that something exists beyond the physical world that we know.

I'm open to answering any further, more specific questions you may have (if I can, I'm not an expert, but I like to think I know a fair amount). However, I will not engage in further antics with Rostos. There is no point because we have each already said everything we can possibly say in that other 2000 post thread... just because we have new viewers doesn't mean everything needs to be repeated. If they wanna read it, they can go ahead, it's not hard to find.

I go to church because it allows me to give thanks to my creator. It makes me feel good and that's that. If you have such a raging hard on about it, then, like your remote control, switch to something else.

The universe has existed for about 14 billion years. The Earth has been around for about 4 billion years. Humans have been around for as little as a few hundred thousand years. The average human life is about 70-80 years nowadays. Life is precious. Time is precious. If you wanna spend hours upon precious hours of your life thanking someone who has never done anything for you that you can quantify, then go ahead. I for one will not waste my life praying to someone who may not and in all likelihood doesnt even exist.

Why are you generalising and judging?

I have been through this before with you and you are too stubborn to change your head. Go and tell Josh hamilton that the church is a complete waste  of time.

He admits his life was in the gutter.

He admits he was wasting his life on booze and drugs.

he admits that he had no point in his life.

Then he readily admits that he opened his eyes and let the Lord into his life.

Look at him now. Forget the money, Look at his happiness.

Go on, go and tell him that he wasted his time going to church.
