Applaud or Awkward?  Mature "sign of the times" or The Feminization of Merica continues?  Oilers or Packers?

 

Where do you stand on this explosive issue?  Personally, I think it's disgusting.

For as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. I don't care about it! But if it does, then it's definitely it's horrible! We need to help the victims of explosions

I love women and don't understand same gender attraction unless its two girls going at it, but ifs who he is I think he should be applauded for coming out. You know there are alot more out there!

He is lucky because after playing 12 years in the NBA, He got to see many naked teammates in the showers after practices and after games. Does he get separate showers now? I don't think his teammates would allow him to shower in the same room with them.

besides my faith, i think that if a dude wants to be with another dude, instead of one of these beauitful woman out here, they have some serious mental issues, and for this PC world to just say it's ok, is just plain wrong.

im cool with a current nba'er. no star. played golf with him yesterday. he didn't hear the news. I brought it up cautiously thinking it may b an uncomfortable topic. it was. it got quiet real quick. I changed the subject to meaningless bs.

he brot it up later by asking, "so Collins really said that?" but I brushed it off with a yes reply and moved on from it.

point is, don't think this topic is ready for locker room life.

and if only one star player is uncomfortable, which will happen, then this topic will not b easy to deal with.

the physical nature of being happy is something ill never understand and mentally deal with. It does gross me out. but I feel every person has the right to a discrimination free life. 

don't see how sexual preference can be considered discriminatory tho in a wrk place where you do undress and shower with others. its a legitimate case of potentially alienating a locker room. tuff scenario.

On your faith theories described above. Many church employees such as pastors down to youth counselors will be getting rejected at the gates in the sky. 

Heck, your head of church neo could be a violator and to think you followed him your whole church life.

Surprised it took this long...anyone that gives him crap is as close minded as possible. 

For the shower comment...wake up and smell the roses.  He's been ga.y for the past 12 years in NBA locker rooms and there were no issues, and nobody had any idea.  My guess is nothing will change.

If it has nothing to do with your life, let it be.

It would probably be a little different the first time in the shower for about 30 seconds.  Just because you didn't know before and now you would.  Big deal.  

I laugh at those who think most happy men are just looking to convert a heterosexual male and have sex with them.  

I also laugh at those who comment on homosexuality and they don't have the FIRST CLUE about what a guy deals with when it comes to relationships (shame, doubt, fighting to be someone they are not, etc., etc., etc.).  

I mean think about it, Jason said he knew he was guy when he was like 12....when his brother started liking girls.  He had to FAKE pretty much his whole life when it came to relationships....he was even engaged.  

Don't tell me anyone who hasn't walked in those shoes has the first clue as to how hard it was for him.

If someone wants to be against happy marriage, I can at least understand that (there are more implications there than just a piece of paper).  But if two guys are gals want to hook up, how does that affect my life?  None.

Feminization of America?  Why don't you go fight Jason Collins and see how much like a girl he is.  

And I am almost positive that homosexuality is not "on the rise." It's just more frequently being discussed....and people are more likely to come out and be honest about their sexual preferences.  

Look at the WNBA....they have had tons of gals come out and now when it happens, no one even cares.  I have a feeling that will eventually happen in the male sports.

If I promise to keep my hands to myself will fitness centers allow me to start showering with other women?

The same reasons that will keep me out of a women's locker room is going to keep Collins out of a men's locker room.

you ever been to the gym?  you ever been there from a job where you have to change into gym clothes?  you ever have to be somewhere after working out and take a shower at the gym?  if so, do you poll the other people in the locker room to see if there are any happy people in there?

I get the argument, but I think there is a difference.  Most men probably wouldn't object if they had to shower with women at the club.    However, most women would not feel comfortable.  

In the Collins example, I'd guess (and yes, it's a guess) that MOST other men wouldn't feel uncomfortable.  Collins has been showering with men ever since he was a kid and there is no evidence there have been any "problems."  If they made it OK for guys to shower with women at a gym, this would be entirely a different approach than ever had been considered before and there would not be a track record.  

That's the difference if you ask me.

The big hoopla is that he's a 'current NBAer' therefore he'd have to assimilate/shower/play with the stars of the league as a g Ay man.

But as I understand it, he is not under contract therefore he IS NOT a current NBAer.

Therefore this is more a non-story than it is a story as more than one former NBAer has come out after their career, just like him.

He's a former NBAer and has almost nothing to offer a current team.

Someone like the Mavs/Cuban will sign him for the good publicity and bring him in in the last 2 minutes of the game to get a lead on sportcenter (and it will lead)...

Two questions...are you 12?  Secondly, why would his teammates need separate showers?  Do you think they think he is going to rape them in the shower?

well, if you've spent time playing sports or working out at a gym, you've undressed and showered with multiple happy people.  sounds like you've survived.  however, based on your comments, you should consider the fact that you might be happy and in need of coming out of the closet or attending the federally funded marcus bachmann pray the happy away therapy.

That's the first step.
The second thing we do is try to beat the g-a-y out of them.
If that doesn't work we're forced to set them on fire and send them to Hell's damnation.

Gays are not happy because they are more woman than man.

Not all gays are into anal sex.

A LOT more straights do anal sex than gays. (Of course, this is because there are a lot more straights than gays, but nonetheless, there are millions of straights into anal sex.) Would you discriminate against them if you knew who they were?

The Bible is not to be taken literally. It also says that eating shellfish is an abomination and slavery is cool.

The bible says that women are supposed to be submissive and are the property of men…it endorses slavery…and it condemns interracial marriage.

does that garbage really work?  there are a couple of guys in the politics forum who could use it.  i think the pray the happy away therapy 14daroad has been using is starting to fade a little.
