Maybe it is human nature but that is not Jason Collins or any other ga y athlete or persons issue, it is on other person to understand that this is something they need to be able to change about themselves.

The fact that some athlete being ga y has any relevance whatsoever is mind-boggling.  Jason Collins making this a story is a total embarrassment to himself, REGARDLESS of his sexual orientation.  

If Collins coming out is such an important story, why don't they report other sexual tendencies of players?  For example, Johnny X of the Lakers likes wife swapping and engaging in double penetration, while putting a gag in the woman's mouth.

ESPN loves reporting on useless stories ad nauseum, so they might as well wrap three into one:
Mantei Teo, Tim Tebow, and Jason Collins were all caught engaging together in a circle jerk.

They have people all over the country (that thinks he's courageous) saying it's his own business who he sleeps with.

Well then why the F is he and the media making it a story.

At what point is a happy person coming out no longer courageous and just old hat.

Be as g.a.y as you want, just don't be flamboyant or try to hit on me.

I'm not singling g.a.y people out either about being flamboyant. I don't like when straight guys go on, and on about all the hot girls they banged. I think these are basically the same.

I think people view entertainment alot different then sports, just my opinion.  Agree there should be no need to view him as hero in 2013 but since ga y people are view by law as second class to straight people that is why this happens.  This is nothing, cant wait till NFL player who is still playing and is starter comes out.

I wanted to clear up that long-standing myth.

Not all gays are feminine. Most gays are not feminine. And there are a lot of straights who are feminine.

But the media likes to highlight the flamboyant, flaming gays and that keeps the myth going.

The science is still out on it, but a recent theory is that we may have some sort of switch in the brain that determines our sexual attraction. It has nothing to do with gays becoming more feminine in the womb. A completely masculine man can just be more attracted to men than women as a result of that switch being triggered that way. It's different, but it's natural for 5-10% of the human species. It's been happening for thousands of years.

Why does Covers program automatically change g@y to happy?

I wanted to say, G@ys are not g@y because they are more woman than man.

Did you know that g@ys have more testosterone, bigger person and are greater risk-takers than straights. Fact.

The fact is he hasn't hit on any guys in 12 years! Get over it! True, he's a big strong guy, but I don't think there is an NBA player that would feel the least bit threatened or embarrassed.

Gee, 12 years and he didn't get a hard-on once. He's a g@y man, not a dog in heat!

The most complete study ever done (by UCLA) projects the actual happy population to be less than 4% of all humans. However they've already managed to demonize those who disagree with their beliefs and spin the difference of opinion into falsities of hatred and ignorance. Most of us simply believe that HoMosexuality is an inherently genocidal behavior and therefore can't be considered normal much less fruitful. No hatred, just honesty.

not questioning you but as for most people, i might buy this if the same derision was directed towards people with birth defects preventing them from having children and people who just decide not to have children.  short of that, for most people, it looks to me like it's the typical hatred toward a minority that the religions use as part of their business model to make the customers feel better about themselves by bringing another group down while they they pass the collection plate around and make their luxury car payments. 

to many christians/muslims, love thy neighbor doesn't sell like find someone different from us and demonize them.  it was black people a few decades ago and that doesn't sell anymore so it's happy people now.  at some point, times will change again and it'll be another group.

Which is exactly why those people should keep it to themselves, family and friends--not the public.

The more those people infected, the more vocally outrageous they became.

Remember--this 'hero' wasted EIGHT years of a woman's life while stringing her along with matrimonial visions dancing in her head.

Guys, the reason they come out is to show you and young, scared g@ys that it's not just Liberace who is g@y. It's not to get in your face. But every social movement has their more radical, militant bunch. It's sometimes necessary to get your attention that there is an injustice here. Staying quiet means accepting second-class citizenship and no equal rights.

Don't you guys have friends or relatives who are g@y? Do you honestly believe they are evil, sinful or mentally ill.

Even otherwise ultra conservatives like person Chaney understand that g@ys deserve equal rights because he knows his daughter is a decent human being who just happens to have been given a different sexual attraction. No different than being left-handed!

All of these same arguments against g@ys were made against blacks and then inter-racial marriage. Time proved them all wrong and time will also prove your ignorance and hatred wrong.

Coming out shows everyone that G@ys are your brothers, sisters, friends, co-workers, etc. If you knew all the people in your life that were g@y, you would have a different impression and opinion.

Sports stars are also the American symbol of masculinity and that is why it is even more significant when an athlete comes out. It shows ignorant sports fans that g@ys are men first and attracted to other men and not women second. That is vitally important for American males to understand. G@y men are just regular guys who happened to like other guys. What's the big deal?
