academy awards one time and lost.  betting the future on the breeders cup a few year back was pretty dumb too.

I actually knew who the two finalists were going to be on The Apprentice a few years back.  My buddy & I loaded up on as many books as we could.  Some of them actually took it off the board cause they smelled a rat.

A couple years ago Nathans Hot Dog eating contest.  Kobayashi was like -450 but it was a lock.  Thank god I didn't see a line this year or I would have lost my ass.

Elevator races here. Nothing too much though, either loser buys lunch that day or $20 or something like that. On Friday we go out to drink after work, so then the loser buys drinks all night. Basically, anytime we are waiting for the elevator to come up to the office, we bet on which one will arrive first.

I was in 6th Grade. I bet a kid that OJ was guilty for $5, straight up.

We were watching the verdict live on TV, the whole school was.Kid's name was Mike. He had red hair, and a bowl cut. Kid was a certified midget, a good foot and a half shorter than I was at the time, about 4'2".

No joke.

I lost $100 at Mardi Gras about 15 yrs ago when I took a challenge from a hustler in New Orleans that I couldn't throw some Mardi Gras beads on top of a 4 story building. I tried 5 times at $20 a throw and got very close but never did it. As a former college baseball player with a pretty good arm, I'm pretty certain that guy never lost that challenge but it sure seemed doable at the time. But what doesn't, when you've had a couple of hurricanes and who knows how many beers like I'd had that day.

The President's race at RFK during a nationals game.  Its like the sausage race at the brewers game.  I had to pay for the next round of beers when the guy in the Teddy Roosevelt head took a hard right toward the dugout and Abe Lincoln hit the finish line like War Admiral at Saratoga. That dick cost me $16 in beers.

in college, we'd get boozed up turn on Madden or NFL2K (back in the day this game was the shizz)....we'd pick two equal teams, set a line and let the games begin.
