If a tree fell in the woods and crushed scalabrine, would anyone care?
scalabrine is one of the most perplexing personalities here at Covers. He can come out with some of the most idiotic drivel in one Thread and then produce a sensational thought provoking masterpiece in another Thread. It's a study in schizophrenia. I do know this about scalabrine... It is sooooo easy to push his buttons. I personally know one poster who pushes scal's buttons purposely and scal will, without fail, fall for it every time. He buys it EVERY TIME. Very amusing to watch it from a distance!!!

Did you ever pay for sex with a prostitute?...Before you were married?...After you were married?
Once. I was at college in Boston and a friend wanted to drive downtown. That section of the city was affectionately know as "The Combat Zone" because that's where all the action took place. We both got blowjobs in the car. Obviously this was before I was married.
One of my best and strongest traits is that I am extremely loyal and dedicated to my wife. Been together for thirty years now. She is ten years younger than I so that keeps s-e-x interesting.

What is something interesting about CG that the rest of us might not know? Nothing personal - but is there anything about his journey that he or you think the rest of us misunderstand?

I can't smoke it any more due to lung issues so I now use edibles or Simpson oil ......Have you ever tried Simpson oil?......Lets say a package of edibles is listed at 100 mg......How much of it would you eat?....Me, I would eat only 5 mg.....My tolerance level has become very low, then again I am way older than 61.

I went to Vegas a month ago and tried edibles for the first time.
I tried 10mg, then 20mg, then 30mg, and then finally 40 mg. At 40mg, there was kind of a buzzy feeling after about an hour - but I certainly wouldnt call it being high.
I read up on it - and people vary wildly about how much a dose is. Some are at 5mg, and some dont feel anything at 100mg. Most seem to be in the 10-15mg level.

Marry Oprah - $3b woman how can anybody walk away from that?
F@ck Michelle - Face like a mackerel but the best body of the three.
Kill Hillary - This is a VERY nasty woman. And I'm not talking strictly about her looks. The way she treats and speaks condescendingly to her aides, well, from stories I've heard the book would fill volumes.

I have a serious affinity for Irish Whiskies. Tullamore Dew, Jameson, Bushmill in particular. At age 61 this needs to slow down dramatically or I will be facing very problematic liver and pancreatic problems.
Courtesy of Biff at Armadillo:
Boston won eight of its last ten games with the Devils; they won three
of last five visits to the Garden State. Under is 7-0-3 in last ten
series games. Bruins won their last five road games and eight of last
ten games overall. Seven of their last nine games stayed under total.
New Jersey was outscored 14-6 in losing their last three games; they’re
2-3 in last five home games. Under is 7-3 in their last ten games.
But, and this is a big BUT, Lack gets his first start in goal for NJ.
Gun to my head, I'm taking UNDER 5.5 GL

CG really, and I mean REALLY, detested his job on the East Coast. There was NO WAY he was staying at that job. It wasn't his boss or the other people he worked with it was just a menial dead end job. Some people are content to work within four walls to earn a paycheck and pay the bills, never looking for advancement. That was NOT CG. He was leaving one way or the other.
When he first got to Vegas he used to tell me ALL THE TIME how he felt a heavy weight had finally been lifted from his shoulders. Which, I mean, sounded a little strange because he had zero guaranteed income with living expenses now and it just didn't faze him in the least. He honestly believed he had nothing to worry about and he could hit 55% picks in his sleep.
When he made the videos (too bad these are gone forever because they were priceless) yes he sounded extremely cocky and headed for a long fall off a tall horse. The videos and the Covers Thread were completely different than my telephone conversations. The videos and Thread were more like some kind of WWF act. On the telephone he would talk like a regular guy. Sometimes, in fact, very humble. He would talk about how he missed his family, Mom and cousins. Just a regular guy. He would talk about how he liked to cook for himself, how ridiculously expensive the Vegas restaurants. So in many ways, although he was very cocky in the Thread, on the telephone he sounded quite sane and very grounded.
There is another thing you might not have realized about CG. He was VERY confident and NOT wish-washy about ANY of his picks. When he made his picks... THAT WAS IT. And he always made his OWN picks. He'd ask me who I was playing that night but he NEVER allowed anybody else to influence his handicapping. If there was one thing I admired about CG that was it because if you can't believe in yourself what else is there in life?
