Just a little food for thought .
Recent case of a missing Preakness occurred in 1995, when D. Wayne Lukas stablemates Thunder Gulch and Timber Country tag-teamed the first two legs of the Crown. Timber Country fell ill and missed the Belmont, leaving the field to Thunder Gulch, who won by two. His jockey, Gary Stevens, considers it a Triple Crown that got away.
“I had about 85 percent of the horse I had in the Preakness that I had in the Derby,” Stevens said. “And still he gets beat by just three-quarters of a length. If he’d have had three weeks between the Derby and the Preakness instead of two, there’s no doubt in my mind I would have won the Triple Crown with Thunder Gulch. But that’s what makes the Triple Crown so difficult.”

Oh Gawd, Vet. I just had a flashback.
I bet my First Holy Communion money on Timber Country that year. I was sitting around the first turn at Churchill for the race.
I swear that when they came around that Thunder Gulch looked me straight in the eye and said, " DUMMASSSSSSSS."
He was right!

I still think there is money to be made even if you like CC. He should be in the 3/5 or 4/5 range and I think there are several throwouts for the exotic plays (I will be tossing Ride on Curlin and Ria).

I'm probably over thinking this race because CC is a beast and should If More likely scenario is there is a hot contested pace CC sits 3rd-5th and if he is healthy he wins for fun but if Espinosa pushes his buttun and gets no response I'm playing : $6 Trifecta's Pimlico Race 12 3-5-7-8-10 Tri Box and $2 Superfexta box 3/7/10-3/7/10-all 3/7/10-all-3/7/10 3-7-all 3-all-7 3-10-all 3-all-10 7/10-7/10-all 7/10-all-7/10 |

Because I'm an idiot and play against horses solely because I don't like their trainer/owner.
