Envious. I'm definitely envious. MB is by far my favorite pool in Vegas. I even have my ideal spot, the area around the lazy river next to the bushes. At least there's some semblance of a shade there. Anyway, the aura at the MB pool is just right, not too subdued, not too raucous (Palms and Hard Rock).

Not only that, but I absolutely can't stand the shrill Top 40 shit that gets blasted at seemingly every Vegas pool, except for MB.

Alas, I don't think I'll be going there this summer. I posted this in another thread, but I've taken too many jaunts to Vegas in the past year and it's time to scale back. I vowed I'd wait until that Thursday-Saturday first weekend of CFB, so I'll just have to scratch the itch if I get it some time in July or early August.

Oh, and speaking of pools and since we're regaling each other with Vegas stories, here's one. Last summer at the Palms, someone vomited in the pool, so everyone had to clear out, and since it was around 4PM, hotel mgmt just went ahead and closed off the pool for the rest of the day. I don't know how they ultimately cleaned it up. I don't think a strainer would have done.

You want Vegas stories?? I have Vegas stories. Had been there twice in my life until getting divorced. Now go 2-3 times a year. Some solo. That is when the good shit happens.

Just got back from a week stay there.

Too long to post now but I was at the OG in Dec. After 2 hrs of dances I waited 30 mins to find the hottest one to give me my last dance. She gave me 2 and asked me if she could go back to my room. $200. Ended up calling her the next 2 nights at $300 a pop.

The service industry. Saw a cocktail waitress at the Casino Royale cashing in her tips at the cashier window. Had a poker chip tray and a half filled with mostly 1's and a few 5's from the table players. Had a huge stack of single bills and quite a few $5 bills in a glass. I'm guessing at least $2-300 in tips from a low rate strip casino. Not bad at all.

Saw an extemely drunk fat chick put in a wheelchair outside Carnival Court near Harrah's. Harrah's rent a cops on the job. They let her try to get up and she falls flat on her face. Had to be from doing shots. She was wayyyy gone.

Missed the beginning of this one but outside O'Shea's a cop pulled over a cab. Apparently tried to yank out the foreign driver with his seat belt still on. I saw him get slammed on the hood and then cuffed. Cop was screaming at him roughing him up a little. People taping it with cellphones the whole time. Pretty funny shit. Have no idea what he did but at 2 am there were all kinds of drunks screaming shit.

Vegas is unreal. Thought about moving there but there's no way I'd survive. Too many temptations. Going 2-3 times a year is almost too much now. Kinda wearing it out. Think scaling it back to 1-2 a year with more money to play with might be the better way to go.

I've been there 4 or 5 times and I've already been comped one night's stay. Compare this to the thousands of dollars I've spent at TI and Mandalay Bay and Suxor and ExcaliTurd (the two latter only for the relatively cheap weekend rooms plus I'll admit the ExcaliTurd sportsbook is not that bad), and all I've received is two comped nights at TI. I've never gotten anything at MB, and this is despite occasionally placing $100 BJ bets for hours. Obviously, that doesn't vault me anywhere near "whale" status, but you'd think I'd get one damn comped buffet.

M's customer relations puts all other resorts to shame so much, it's unbelievable. I'll still go to other places because I like to mix it up, but a bulk of my dollars spent will always be at the M.

Could be any more true. The M 's comps are unreal. I am a local who will throw 2-300 into a machine a few times a month. Play for a few hours. I have won more times than I have lost so far there which is rare so that is a nice bonus. Since going there for the last 3 months they have sent me $640 in free play.  (per month) $400 in dining per month. Free massages at the spa. They also comped a VIP cabana at the pool for 8 people. Which included all you can eat and drink..42 inch plazma..stocked fridge..personal hot tub..shower..personal server for the day.

The place is unreal. I know you will get the argument that is is off the beaten path away from the strip but if I were coming to Vegas there is no doubt this is the only place I would stay.

CrusCrnshw, The M Resort is a new resort about 10 miles south of the Strip and conveniently located of I-15. It's operated by Anthony Marnell III, whose dad "built" the Rio (since sold to the execrable Harrah's), which arguably did as much to reinvigorate Las Vegas as  The Mirage did, leading to the building boom that lasted for more than a decade. Though it's kinda far away, it does have a nice picturesque view of the Strip at night.

Anyway, I'm trying to trace back how much money I've blown at the tables to garner such comps. I pretty much spent most my time in the sportsbook, but that was during the NCAA Tourney and the NBA playoffs, but when I did hit the tables, it was 90% Pai Gow Poker, mostly playing $25.00 per hand, sometimes $10.00, sometimes $50.00. The other 10% was the loathesome bane of my existence, Blackjack.

I guess I've lost enough to warrant such comps. Anyway, I'll probably make my reservations to stay on a Friday and Saturday in July, can't wait to check out the pool.

The Wynn gave me two free nights a couple times during the first few months when they first opened and that was based on who knows what.  I signed up for their players card when they first opened and played mostly 25 cent video poker and a few $5 tables that wouldn't have even been rated.  There was no reason for me to get any free nights whatsoever, that's for sure, but for whatever reason they gave me free nights a couple times.  So the M might just be doing what the Wynn did when they first opened and giving a lot of different type people freebies to get the word out.
