Hello all. Longtime lurker finally inspired enough to post my first play.MLB baseball is my obsession, so I hope to provide some positive insights to this forum. That being said, with my 0-0 posted record, my play for 5/16 is:Rangers @ A's Over 8 -110 5.5 UNITSStruggling SP's Holland vs Manaea with the wind blowing straight out to CF ~12mph at gametime. Hollan'd struggles aren't fluky with the 5.23 SIERA, 5.31 xFIP, lowest GB rate of his career (albeit the small sample size). Manaea is a bit of a wild card due the the lack of track record, he but hasn't posted a quality start in his first 3 starts and Texas is 4th in the MLB vs LHP. I could go on wuite a bit about the matchup, but I think the pitching matchup gives anough arguments for the over. Good luck if you decide to tail!
Love this play too, been very busy , didn't have time for a write up to get in before the 1 hr deadline, but it would be a $$$$ play for me as well.... Also like Texas team total over 4 as well... GL on this solid play

@Lakerz .... I think you should spend a day or two looking for a great play to get you out of this slump. Maybe even look for something out of your norm or an afternoon or early evening game. I'll be on the lookout!

Zimmerman has been steady all
season and allowed one run when he faced the Twins earlier this season. Berrios
has had control issues and given up home runs in his last two games. Detroit
knows they have to get it in gear if they want to have a chance at the playoffs
and that that time begins now.
Good luck to everyone tonight.
I tailed this play as I liked Detroit and Zimmerman tonight. I figured this was the best way to win this game or the over so I took Detroit -1/2 F5 and over...Detroit knocks the cover off the ball 1st inning and goes up 8 to 0 so I am like.....then Zimmerman starts spewing all over himself and I start to go.....Thank goodness he pulls it together Top of 5th

$$$$ Kenta Maeda innings pitched -1 (-125) vs Matt Shoemaker $$$$
Disclaimer: I have been ICE cold the past two weeks on $$ plays, that needs to be said. About time to break out of my funk, and hey, why not do it on a Monday (where winning bets go to die) LOL.
I like this one, although I wish I did not have to give up one inning. But looking at the season thus far, Shoemaker has been awful, we all know that. His last 3 starts, he went 3, 2.1, and 4 innings respectfully. His season high for innings pitched was a month ago on Apr 19th when he lasted 6 innings at White Sox.
Compare this to Maeda who in his debut season has been remarkably consistent in pitching between 6-7 innings in every single start *except* for his last one vs Mets where he went 5 innings. Assuming his consistency lasts, I expect him to last 6 innings, maybe 6.1 or 6.2 against Angels. So to conclude, Maeda shortest pitching outing this season came close to matching Shoemakers longest outing.
Maeda has the luxury of surprise since Angel bats have never seen him before other than recent scouting tapes on video. Angel bats have woken up the past 4 games which is a tad bit scary, but I'm hoping/expecting he can breeze through their lineup the first time and do okay the 2nd time through in lasting 6+ innings.
For Shoemaker, he faces a Dodger offense that has also woken up the past week. They have what appears on paper at least to be a very imposing lineup. However, they are the Dodgers and play half their games at ta pitchers park so Dodgers can throw up a string of clunkers. One thing to note is that both Puig and Turner are NOT in the Dodger lineup as well. Sadly, Joc Pederson is, I'm not a fan of his but whatever. Carl Crawford and Trayce Thompson get the joy of padding their batting averages against Shoemaker.

Just to make it clear for those who have not seen prop bets like this, I am betting that Maeda pitches (at least) 1 inning longer than Shoemakers. So if Maeda goes 6 innings and Shoemaker lasts only 4.2, then the bet wins.
If Maeda goes 6 while Shoemaker goes 5, then the bet pushes.
Also tailed on Yanks over, Yanks to win, Texas over. Hope for good luck all around!

@BightSizeLife and Matt2688.... Only reason I didn't make the Pens/Lightning Over a $$$$ was because of the small sample size of Andrei. It however was a full size $$$$ wager for me which is always nice to see as a worst case Push after one period. There was a decent amount of discussion on this NHL total today so hopefully some of the thread will earn a little coin tonight.
Andrei has been a serviceable backup, but very steaky, if that's an appropriate word to describe a back up lol. Shutout then gives up 4 the next two games. Regardless of the goalie the penguins are far too skilled to be shutdown. And Tampa can light it up too... After "feeling eachother out" in game 1, I think most games in this series will be fairly high scoring. Look for the blues/sharks to score more as well tomorrow. Lots of luck kept that under for me last night, I'll be on the opposite tomorrow.

Bracken13....Don't be shy and I don't care what your logic is, gut etc. Just do a short write up about why you like a play and lets it go. I have tailed several on here and made $ but at the end of the day...you just gotta find winners out there. Baseball is a long long season and you need to jump in the deep end.
I personally would like to hear WHY you like under in first half? 224.5 is a HUGE total in a Game 1....I could see under in 1st, but I need a little more help getting there. Sell me on it!!! I am always looking for a good buy!

Thanks for the encouragement. Neither of the picks I mentioned were originals. Just mentioned the two from this thread that I liked the best. Liked the first half under because that is a huge total, GS has been a solid defensive team since Kerr got there, and because it seemed like OKC started to figure some things out on the defensive end the last few games against the Spurs. GS is a different beast than SAS, but similar in that if you aren't sound defensively at all five spots on the floor, you will usually get burned.
I know virtually nothing about the Dodgers or the Angels. I like to have one play going at a time. I wait for the game I have to end and determine the amount of my next wager based on the outcome. The first half of the NBA game left me with the opportunity to play the baseball game after, and y'all sold me on fading the Angels' starter.
Thanks for the winner on the NBA game. Happy tailing!

An interesting match up tomorrow between the Cubs and Brewers. Kendrick has given up 0 runs, 1 run, and 1 run in his last 3 starts against the Cubs (1st 5 innings). Anderson gave up 6 runs in 5 innings last year against the Brewers and isn't pitching lights out right now. A possible +.5 or ML play tomorrow 1st 5 innings.
Somewhere, my wiring got crossed up. Kendricks pitches for the Cubs, not the Brewers, and Anderson pitches for the Brewers, not the Cubs. Sorry about that.
Money is a good servant, but a bad master

Anyone can post a $$$ on here and we welcome a dude who had a documented 24 GAME WINNING STREAK....... get some !
Haha. Thanks for the kind words. I had success during the streak partially because I was spending hours a day researching to find a winner. I don't get the chance to do that very often when I'm not playing for large sums of money. I can tell the people in this thread are putting in the time and effort on a consistent basis, and I don't want to dilute the talent pool and mess up the success rates for the group by posting a few picks on a regular basis without putting in the proper amount of time. It seems like y'all have a good thing going here. I believe very firmly in not messing with a good thing. Y'all keep up the good work!

Tough break. No worries after one period then we get stumped the next two! Oh well, I'm an optimist, this will continue to help push the vig down for the over on the next game, and I remain confident the goals will come in this series. Our payday is coming, this is just a minor delay :)

LOL, yes I found that timing funny as well. In my defense though, it has been I think 5 days since my last try. I did force myself in a break, just posted normal plays which did okay. Of course now I lose again, ugh.
I gotta say, I am NOT at all happy with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. For the second straight game he yanks the starter too early when their pitch count is < 80 pitches. On Sunday it was bad, as Wood was doing well in a 1-1 tie, yet gets yanked throwing way less than 100 pitches only to see freaking gas can Blanton get put in and get pounded. I bet the under 8 that game and was like .
Then today, Maeda gets the yank after just 4 innings and throwing like 73 pitches. Granted, he had a rough 3rd inning and had to battle 4th inning as well, but seriously, c'mon! Dodgers were only down 1 run and had bases empty with 1 out when dumb behind Roberts pinch hit for Maeda. Of course, Dodgers did not score from that, and then he puts in gas can Hatcher who almost gives up runs in both 5th and 6th innings. I would like to know why Roberts has so little faith in his starters to figure it out?!?
Not to mention, that ump in this calling balls/strikes is on drugs as well. He is calling a bad game for both teams with very arbitrary strike zones. He hosed the Dodgers bottom of the 3rd for sure. They had Shoemaker on the ropes, 1st and 3rd with 1 out and down 2 runs. Grandal was batting and count was 2-1. Shoemaker throws a pitch that was literally at Granda's shoulders, and this freaking ump calls it a strike! Intstead of count being 3-1, it is now 2-2. So of course Grandal swings at a bleh next pitch to protect himself and hits into an inning ending double play.
