I THINK
THIS MAY BE MY BIGGEST PLAY SO FAR THIS SEASON, but let me be clear, it's still only 2.75 units so it's less than double the size of my average play. No game is worthy of a huge percentage of a bankroll so please realize it's just 2.75 units being risked and nothing crazy.
LA DODGERS EVEN (2.75 UNITS) - Clayton
Kershaw has been phenomenal on the road as of recent. In his last 6 road starts,
he has thrown 40 innings and allowed just 18 hits, 5 earned runs and a 1.125 ERA
with a 36:23 K:BB ratio. In his last 11 starts overall, he has thrown 67 2/3
innings and allowed a mere 40 hits, 8 earned runs for a 1.06 ERA with a 71:33
K:BB ratio. He has allowed 3 runs (not earned but runs) or less in 16
consecutive starts and in 18 of his L19. The DBacks trail the Marlins for the
most strikeouts in baseball by just two and face Kershaw today who has 133 K's
in 131 IP. In addition, the Dbacks are hitting just .245 against left handers
this season and are 4-10 in their L14 games against lefty starters. Meanwhile,
Dan Haren seems to be following a similar pattern throughout his career. While
he is one of the game's top pitchers, he consistently struggles in August. In
his 6+ year career, he has thrown 188 innings in August and has allowed 226 hits
and 104 earned runs for a 4.98 ERA; that's 1.70 earned runs more than his
combined ERA'S in all other months. So far in his two August starts in 2009, he
has thrown 13 innings and allowed 15 hits and 10 earned runs for a 6.92 ERA.
Last year, he allowed 55 hits in 38 1/3 innings in August and 24 earned runs for
a 5.63 ERA. In Haren's L4 starts, he has thrown 23 innings and allowed 27 hits
and 16 earned runs for a 6.26 ERA. In addition, Haren has struggled with several
Dodgers' hitters:
Blake 10 for 29 .345
Manny 10 for 20 .500 2HR's
Ethier 9 for 20 .450
Kemp 4 for 13 .308 1 HR
Loretta 4 for 11 .364
Overall 64 for 212 .302 6 HR's
The Dodgers are 33-24 on the road while the Dbacks are 26-34 at home. The
Dbacks are 2-6 in their last 8 Fri.
games and are 8-21 in their last 29 games as an underdog. The Dbacks are 0-4 in
Harens last 4 starts vs. Dodgers and are 8-21 in their last 29 games as an
underdog. In addition, they are 3-9 in their last 12 home games vs. a team with
a winning record. LA has won the last 13 of 16 in this series. They are 40-18 in
their last 58 games following a loss and are 48-20 in their last 68 vs. National
League West.

Good luck man, I see the logic just not sure I can bet against Dan Haren at home with a pitcher (Kershaw) who can lose command of the strike zone at any time.
