Thanks for all the FREE advice you give on a daily basis. I've been following you for a couple of years now and just wanted to show my appreciation.

Your knowledge of baseball is impressive, especially considering that gambling appears to be at the bottom of your list of priorities. Between family and work, I can barely find enough time in the day to place your bets, let alone do any sort of my own research,

Tuck- Its 105 today here in Phoenix. The roof will be closed as it is for most games past mid April and before mid September

No doubt but why did they wait so long to announce it today.  Normally see it much sooner.  Just seems very odd to me.

I knew it before I opened your thread. I stick to one or half unit plays, but this would be two+ if I ever decided to make a slash. It's always nice to be on the same play as you - especially a top play. Good luck!!

 

Anyway, I saw some people questioning Harden in your thread this week (didn't have time to post). Plus, I noticed a lot of people in the forum going against him – not smart. Guys, he started the season only throwing his fastball and changeup to ensure he pitches the whole season. It went pretty well considering he was very unlucky (HR/FB and BABIP) and trying a new/limted

repertoire.

 

Well, his use of the slider has been back for a month, and the results speak volumes. I am not suggesting he should be an automatic play every week, but I am saying be very careful fading him with the expectation of him regressing to 1st half results.

Good Luck on your Dodgers Play.  Its a bit risky because the lines say so. My belief is that the lines dictate what bookmakers believe the line should be and where the money is siding.
 
It is obvious the money is siding Dodgers.  Not only because Gamehunter is on it, but because stats don't lie.
 
So, why is the line not moving in favor of the Blue Crew?  With the line technicially not shifting for all the books, the lines should have turned from LAD -105 into LAD -130.
 
Dodgers are clearly the better team, but that line makes me a bit weary.
 
Also, Trends don't lie.  And Dodgers have a great series record against the D'Backs this year.  They've beaten Haren twice this year road and home and Kershaw has been lights out pitching for his team.
 
But where is Kershaw's run support?  He's lost 4 out of those 6 Gems and that's just a shame.
 
Coupled with the fact that the Dodgers bats have been ice cold their past 10 games vs. (quality righties such as Lincecum, J. Sanchez, Jurrjens, Lowe, Loopers, etc), it'll be tough to back the Blue Crew on a coin toss line vs Haren (Quality Righty).
 
To look on the opposite side, Az has been hitting the ball the past 10 games, but obviously, the quality of lefty pitchers and teams have been less than stellar and those lefties don't compare to Kershaw, which explains their .330 BA the last 10gms (while on the road)
 
Dodgers road and overall record is far superior than the D'Backs Home record.
 
The stats can go back and forth between these 2 teams today because, the line dictates it.  It will be an even matchup today for this game and it can go either way.  Bookmakers have cushioned themselves for a win or loss in this game.  The line says, Bookmakers don't care who wins, they still get their Vig.
 
That's my opinion on this game. 
 
Gamehunter is without a doubt a top handicapper in the baseball forum.

-Quality Pitcher vs. Cold Team
-Tex has hotter bats their last 10 (.289)
-Tex Hits Lefties at home (.279)
-Milwood has been an under pitcher the past 3 games
-Milwood has a 7-1 Home Record
-Lester is 4-4 on the road
-Bos is hitting a cold .215 their last 10gms and that includes 6 road games and a weak (.242) on the road

Be careful here game, I got this as a dead pickem even with the huge advantage to the dodgers offense.  Haren is honestly a run better or so than Kershaw.  Kershaw's era is well below his expected era.  He should be right around 4.00.  I wouldn't look too much into road/home splits either as those vary quite a bit year to year.  Might want to look into the book by Tango.  He discusses this in more detail.

WTF with this guy... and I suppose the Dodgers will take that as their fn cue to take the night off... no team is better at calling it a night early IMO - especially on the road...
