and I normally don’t go into too many reasons for my plays, but the Tigers have
respectable offense that just hasn’t showed up recently, Tigers have won 60% of
the games that Simon pitched in, and 71% of the last 7 he pitched. He recently pitched a CG shutout vs the potent Rangers. Buehrle on the other hand has trended
backwards giving up 20 ERs in his last 36.2 innings (that would be an ERA of
4.97 vs a potentially potent Offense) .
Next, the Jays have the all of a sudden streaking Indians in the next 3
days and will (if history repeats itself) look to save their bullpen., (vs. Salazar,
Anderson, and Bauer), they are going to stretch Buehrle’s innings if he starts
to get in trouble as opposed to bring the bullpen in to stopgap, so that could
be an opportunity for the Tigers to keep it close. I have the Chances of Tigers staying within 1
at 49.2%, and with a +105 line that swings the value in the RL favor by about a
half a percentage point (resulting in a minimal play) In addition, I feel a
minimal play is worth supporting that the Tigers are embarrassed after
yesterday’s pounding. There are many
other reasons, but in addition it is a potent offense that is getting a plus
line with 1.5 runs, and a minimal play.
