ok I chuckled.
I tend to agree with you. I rarely give a damn for baseball trades (much bigger hockey fans) but I was pumped about this trade more than any in a long time, Price is a true ace, one of a few in the game. I wanted this trade last deadline, and he gave away more now than he would have last year, but regardless. You can imagine how the players feel about this. What is really interesting about tomorrows match-up is that Hutchison has been a beast at home, who knows? Tough to think a streak starts against KC, but the stars are aligned.
It's just such a big deal to add Tulo and Price. If the don't make the playoffs they grossly overpaid for Price, if they sneak in, it was a very profitable move. On the telecast today they said that 41,000 extra tickets were sold for future games after the Price announcement. If they start winning the tickets sales and concessions extras alone will cover his $8 million.
I still am not sure if they are good enough to get there, if they had Saunders and Stroman in the lineup (Stroman is expected to be back in Sept.), this would be a different situation but they are certainly a more legitimate threat than three weeks ago.

Without a doubt he is a far better pitcher than when the first couple of months, lack of run support aside. With Norris being traded he has a reason to be happy, Jays probably pick up his $12M option now, before this trade (and the last few weeks he has pitched) it seemed certain they would pass.
If they can sneak in anything is possible, their offense is just that much better than everyone else and pitching has vastly improved both in the performance of those already here and with the addition of Price.
Still tomorrow until 4, maybe AA grabs another starter, nothing would surprise me at this point. If Stroman comes back in Sept as he says he will, the depth gets that much improved. He was their biggest loss this season.
