Yeah I am.  Votto is tearing it up right now.  Bruce got off to a slow start, they gave him a few days off and since then has been on a tear.

5-12 in last 12 AB's with 2 home runs 4 RBI's so maybe he is starting to see the ball better.

please get dustin pedroia off these top 5 lists. I respect the guy alot even though i hate the red sox but hes not a top 5 hitter. Thats a joke. Is he even a better hitter than youkilis on his own team?

We could debate all day and night with the top 5. It's easier to do a top 10 for sure. The order will always be debated but at least were not leaving guys out. I'm basing my numbers on overall consistency and all of the major categories. I could never and i mean NEVER list Ryan Howard on my list. Merry Christmas you hit 50 HR's......A .225 hitter doesn't make my list. Another guy is Grady Sizemore. Love how he plays the game, good pop from the lead off spot but he's hit .290 one time and hes a leadoff guy. Just giving you an idea of what I go upon here. Not just power but def in the mix, average, not a lot of strikeouts, longevity, scare factor etc. I don't care about steroids or performance enhancing drugs either.

1. Albert Pujols
2. Manny Ramirez
3. Miguel Cabrera
4. Chipper Jones
5. A-Rod
6. David Wright
7. Matt Holiday (could be up 1 oe 2 spots. Let's  what he does out of Coors field)
8. Joe Mauer
9. Dustin Pedroia
10. Michael Young

Here is my honerable mention and if they could improve on these things they would of made my top 10. Hanley Ramierez-More consistency he's still young, if he was hitting leadoff hes better. Every swing is for the fences when in the 3 hole. Lane Berkman-Not a sexy pick at all but just look at the numbers and longevity. Maybe a few more seasons of this and his numbers are debateable hall of fame. + i think hes clean as a shit after a colanix in terms of enhancing drugs. Aaron Hill, we need a few more seasons of this and you can make the list, same goes for you Mr. Kinsler, Mr. Markakis, and Mr. Youkolis.

"I love Ryan Braun" isn't a legitimate reason to put him in the top 5 hitters in the game.

Well it's all opinion, but one things for certain, I like Matt Holliday, but please don't anyone put him in their top 5. I think for past performances, you cant truely evaluate any hitter that plays at Coors Field. This is his first year away from Coors, not saying he won't hit, but he's not worthy of top 5 on that principle alone
