So the general consensus is that the line moved 50 cents because nobody was betting the braves, and the books knew that a worse price would make everyone bet them?
This is seriously what is being agreed upon here?
Have I entered the twilight zone?

vanzack, not that nobody was betting the braves but......
well let me try and explain and im not saying im right but this is what I THINK and have seen many many times.
i dont know if you follow boxing but i will use this example on an up coming fight.
marcos maidana +250
amir khan -300
Now I THINK this line is way off I THINK maidana is a much better fighter than +250 to amir khan and I would have put the line at
khan -120
maidana +100
but when i see +250 on maidana now I start to think why is he such an underdog and think wow the oddsmakers know something i dont and get get scared and only bet 50 on maidana but had he been +100 i would have thought " hey even the oddsmakers think he has a good chance" and i would have laid 500 on maidana.
this is WHAT I THINK ONLY. IM NOT SAYING IM RIGHT.JUST MY OPINION AND IT WAS THE BEST WAY I COULD EXPLAIN IT.

Sir -
Let me tell you what I think.....
I THINK that if you set a bad line on an event like MLB (not boxing), you would get HAMMERED on the side that is bad. Period.
So tonight for example, the line must have been bad at -167. The line was probably bad at -145. The line might have been bad at -135. But at -110? Maybe that was an overreaction. So the line was hammered tonight on the Braves side.
If - we assume your thought could be true - and they moved the line "on air" from -167 to -110, surely they would have taken so much SF money that it would have been ridiculous. If the true good line was indeed -167, and they just decided to move it to -110 to confuse people in to betting the Braves, I guess this might have worked with a VERY small percentage of gamblers, but every big gambler in the universe would hammer the Giants.
Sorry - but that is reality. Not the imaginary world of pump fakes by bookmakers made up by people who dont understand money moves. Im sure (because of the lack of obvious info) that this was indeed a money move - that there was enough money to move the line down - and that the books are thrilled at this apparant result.
I dont believe in ghosts, I dont believe in god, and I certainly dont believe in bookie double reverse pump fakes.
