This, in my eyes, is the perfect setup for an over. Rays have 6 hits and get shutout vs the O's yesterday. Yanks score 5 runs in a double header vs. the lowly Cubs and their pitching was FLAWLESS. It's only a matter of time before…wait for it…BOOM!
Sabathia's last start on 4/11 was a positive one…striking out 9 and going 7 against Boston….however, giving up the long ball seems to find him. He's now given up 5 HR's in 19 innings and has given up more than a hit an inning. Compared to last year, his K/9 is up but his batting average against is up. What we have here is simply a "used to be" stud that is now, quite frankly, an average pitcher…and this is coming from a Yankees fan. The days of CC going 7IP+ and shutting the opponent down are LONG GONE. Now after 2-0 and 3-0 wins vs the Cubs, Yanks pitching is top notch!!! Well maybe Tanaka and Pineida are taking care of business…but I'm not trusting skinny CC. His 3 games pitched last year at Tropicana Field with 3 starts reads: 0-3 with a 6.64 ERA and a 1.28WHIP with 5 HR's in 20.1 innings.
On the home mound it will be the Rays ace David Price who is starting off on the right foot in the early season. He's given up just 7 ER in 22 innings and has 22k's in those innings…not too shabby! However, off of last year's numbers, he was a better pitcher on the road and gave up a .271 avg to righties and a .189 avg to lefties. Yes I'm looking at last years numbers, but we should keep that in the back of our heads…he IS hittable if you are a righty bat.
Much like yesterday where I said I liked Milone and was worried about Skaggs, I like Price here but I'm worried about CC holding up his end of the bargain in this "pitching duel". Will CC get through the first inning 1-2-3….maybe, but you can bet your ass that before the 5th, he'll be in some sort of trouble and give up something significant...it just always happens.
Will the Yanks build off of yesterday's 2 win double header…my guess no Will the Rays get back on track after being shutout yesterday…my guess yes
Look for Tampa's bats to come alive here as they head back home. All I'm asking for is 1 run from the Yanks at some point during the game and I think we have 7 runs+ in this game. Even with Price on the mound, the pick today is clear for me…

Because I'm not paying -175 for it....and I said all I'm asking for is one run from the Yanks, if they wanna get 3 or 4 for me that'd be preferable! I think TB takes it, but too pricey to take em ML

Price has been great, and Rays hitters are ice cold. i expect Sabathia will show much better result, 3 runs in 5-6th inning. take Rays ML, RL. that's much much safer in my system. anyway GL
