speaking of characters you want to see DIE in anti-war movies, how about Tom Berenger as Sergeant Barnes in "Platoon"?
I saw the movie for the first time at a theater near an Army base. when Charlie Sheen as Chris shoots Barnes at the end, the whole place cheered.
