GM Bob Myers also recently spoke on Wiggins’ absence from the team stating that the organization does not believe he will miss the rest of the season, but that they are giving him the time he needs to sort things out.
I think that phrase “sort things out” rules out a family illness, because an illness (which is what I initially thought it might be and would fully excuse his extended absence) is not something that can be sorted out. Of course that still leaves open many other possibilities, but I’m leaning towards some kind of marital issue, which is something that can indeed be “sorted out.” If this is the case, it’s amazing that the Warriors are giving him this much time to “sort things out” as their season goes down the drain. I would think something like this would be unprecedented in a league where so many players are philandering on a nightly basis in cities far way from home. And some of the wives, I’m sure, are also taking advantage of the situation. Can you imagine Dr. J, in his heyday, when he was not only dunking the ball through the hoop but also dunking his balls through another kind of hoop, taking extended time off to “sort things out” with his wife. Or how about Wilt?!
Anyway, I certainly hope this is not the reason this guy, who is being rewarded handsomely for his missed performances, is being coddled in this way, and that there is some better, more compelling, reason for his absence. Because if this extended absence is about “infidelity” then the entire league needs to go on leave.

@begginerboy Very intersting indeed considering i didnt even know the dude was married at all. Thought he was just with his long time girlfriend but what do i know
Wife/girlfriend, whatever you call it, they are life partners and have 4 kids together. Some people just choose not go for the marriage label.

Rumor from a respected source said its a marital issue. Another baby on the side and he's been trying to get his family back. Don't shoot the messenger. Life is tricky, even for multimillion dollar athletes.

How many kids did Dr. J, Wilt, Et al. have out of wedlock? I bet they had more kids out of wedlock than missed games. Can you imagine my employer giving me indefinite paid time off so I can deal with a marital issue I caused and brought on myself as a grown ass adult?

Warriors will pay dearly for all these bad contracts given out like money was growing on tree's.....All Wiggins did was have a good finals and he was rewarded with that contract extension..other than that he is not that great....Wiggins aside..Yikes 4 more years......Poole's contract is looking really bad as well...He leads the league in turnovers and does not play defense..he is a poor man's Monte Ellis.. He is a bad fit with the Splash Bro's and cannot be played when they are not the court together as he does not pass the ball and play team ball...He is a 1 man offense...Paying him $35 Million to come off the bench....Draymond and Korver are up for extensions..as well. No way can you have Poole and Curry as your back court next season is guess they give Korver another max extension at his age....

Demons? You know how many demons I have in my life, not including my wife? I got demons coming out of my ass. I still have to go to work everyday. And I’m so busy I can’t even see a therapist. If that’s his issue, give the Warriors back their money and retire.

For now, Poole looks like a flash in the pan, won’t disagree there. Though I think it’s all mental. I have not seen many players like him; when he is on, he is an offensive force, but there are too many nights he is just off. You say Ellis, I say he is a poor man’s Jamal Crawford. A very poor man. You can’t trust him. He was brilliant last year for 3/4 of the season and some of the playoffs. He has taken two steps back.

I think it’s quite obvious you should seek therapy, no matter how busy you are with work. The world would clearly be a better place if you did. You undoubtedly have issues my friend.
Think about this, you’re in an online forum speculating about peoples issues without a scintilla of evidence. In your sick mind, you think because he’s black, it must to be something with cheating on his wife. I would wager every dollar I have that you would never bring this up if a white player needed time away.

Oh here we go. The racist card. That’s the way to suppress free speech and opinion these days. How original. You are an idiot. I don’t care who sleeps with whom. My wife is black, you moron. My kids are biracial. So stick your race card up your arse.

”I have black friends so I can’t be a bigot”. Being racist has nothing to do with your skin color, or your wife’s skin color. I know PLENTY of people who are racist against their own kind!
Just admit that you think black people are lazy and irresponsible. You wouldn’t be the first person to think this.

I admit you are a moron a race-baiter. I never brought up the man’s race scumbag, you did. Sleeping around is common with athletes, celebrities, and rich people in general, it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with money and power. What a moron, coming in here calling someone a racist because have an opinion on an issue that we still don’t know much about. Yes., I’m speculating. Yes, I may be wrong. Yes, maybe I shouldn’t speculate, but that does not make me a racist you scumbag.

A perfectly healthy player, taking this much time off for an extramarital issue would be unprecedented and news worthy! I have followed the league for many years and never seen something like this, have you? If it’s mental health or something else, completely different story. But if it’s about infidelity, then this is a huge sea change in how athletes are treated these days by their employers, which some might like but I personally don’t. My boss might give me a couple of days to “sort things out” but weeks? Give me a break.

Finally, someone with some common sense. I think people in this country have lost their minds. To think that an athlete who makes more money than we will ever see in our lifetimes granted privileges that 99% of people on this earth will never have is somehow justified in not showing up for his job while continuing to get paid (short of some kind of life and death illness affecting himself or his family, of course) is absolutely nuts!

Do you not realize that you started this entire ridiculous conversation based on a giant WHAT IF?
You’re getting your panties in a bunch over something that is most likely untrue.
So until you have some sort of definitive proof, why even start this conversation?
You are creating a problem where one doesn’t exist.
