well, i definitely do follow these kinds of trends, and i'm not someone who follows trends...... winning 60% of your games SU as a dog over a 3 year period is, flat out, as FANTASTIC as it gets...... in ANY sport, by ANY team....... trust me!
FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!
i do take injuries and health and everything (absolutely everything) into consideration....... you guys are sleeping on this Celtics team, big time...... i'm not talking about this game as much as the playoffs, because people will carry this same thinking into the playoffs......
last year, this Celts team took Orlando to a 7th game, without KG, and without a team that is much deeper this year....... Doc intentionally underplayed all of his starters this year, and they quite simply don't give a shit about the regular season....... but believe me, if they play the Cavs, the Cavs are going home...... no team that is as limited and without depth as the Cavs can beat a team that is as versatile and deep as the Celts in an NBA 7-game series......
watch!
Chef,
If you are talking playoffs makes a lot more sense. I also think C's will come to play in the playoffs. Just today I was saying not sure. They were even talking today pre-game how some of the C's players just want the reg season to be over to get to the playoffs. Thats the thing with vet teams like the C's and Lakers. Often times they don't give a $hit about regular season games.

so to recap: i stated an opinion that is supported by statistics....... you said that's the dumbest thing you ever read...... i said elaborate, you couldn't, i said elaborate, you didn't...... i said elaborate one more time, and you said......

i see what you are saying...... i am just riding a trend that has been golden over the past 3 years, and this year hasn't been different so far....... so i like the line......
but the reasons most people like the Cavs today are the same reason they will be against the Celts in the playoffs...... so i was just pointing out that their thinking is flawed, at best.....
the Celts tend to take the games against Clev, Orlando and LA very seriously, because they know they are "gauge" games.......
here's a good trend for you for THIS YEAR: against those 3 teams (the best in the league) on the road this year, the Celts are 2-1 SU, and 3-0 ATS (all 3 as a dog)......
is that better?
bottom line: Celts take these games much more seriously than they do games at home against the Nets.......

What is this, like an April fools joke or something...it is still March right?
Didn't the Cavs win by 20 at Boston the last time they played. Boston did beat them at the start of the season when the Cavs were still trying to figure out how to play with Shaq, but that's ancient history at this point. If the Celtics don't lose in the first round of the playoffs and they do meet up with the Cavs, I'd be surprised if they win 2 games in a 7 game series.

This stat is incorrect because last time they played in Boston the C's were an underdog without Pierce and lost by over 20 points.

Looks like 3-3 on this trend. 50% this season probably 3-4 this season since you left out the butt whooping Cleveland gave them in Boston a couple weeks ago.

first of all, that can quite easily be disputed...... but second of all, that is a moot point...... they don't have to be the same team as the past two years for this line to be wrong......
but reality is, they are a team that turns it on when they want to this year, because all they care about is the playoffs....... a whole lot of people are going to get raked over the coals trying to fade Boston as a dog in the playoffs...... and if Boston plays Cleveland in the playoffs, it is going to be some of the most amazing value you will ever see.......

Chef, you are delusional if you can't realize this is a team that is a shell of its former self...
Even I've come to realize my Celts Futures Bet is a losing ticket. The sooner you can realize this, the sooner you can take advantage of betting against this aging team. BTW, I was on CLE today.

i see...... once again, would you care to elaborate? because you don't seem to have anything to say about it, and it is a pretty simple statement......
over the last 3 years, Celts have been a dog of (+5) or more only 15 times....... they won 9 of those, straight up, and covered 10 out of 15......
Careful what you wish for... Celts keep playing like this, you're going to start seeing their lines creep up.
